Fe3Al, Fe3Al-Cr, Fe3Al-Cr-Mo, Ni3Al 및 Ni3Al-Cr 합금표면에 형성된 산화물 특성분석 (Characterization of Oxide Scales Formed on Fe3Al, Fe3Al-Cr, Fe3Al-Cr-Mo, Ni3Al and Ni3Al-Cr Alloys)

  • Alloys of $Fe_3$Al, $Fe_3$Al-6Cr, $Fe_3$Al-4Cr-1Mo, $Ni_3$Al, and $Ni_3$Al-2.8Cr were oxidized at $1000^{\circ}C$ in air, and the oxide scales formed were studied using XRD. SEM, EPMA, and TEM. The oxide scales that formed on $Fe_3$Al-based alloys consisted primarily of $\alpha$-$Al_2$$O_3$ containing a small amount of dissolved Fe and Cr ions, whereas those that formed on $Ni_3$Al-based alloys consisted primarily of $\alpha$-$Al_2$$O_3$, together with a small amount of $NiAl_2$$O_4$, NiO and dissolved Cr ions. For the entire alloys tested, nonadherent oxide scales formed, and voids were inevitably existed at the scale-matrix interface.

혼합 기준을 달리한 Al/Ni 나노 멀티 포일의 미세구조에 대한 연구 (Micro-Structural Study of Al/Ni Nano-Multilayer Foils by Intermixing Criteria)

  • Al/Ni 나노 멀티 포일은 상온에서 외부 방전 및 촉발에 따라 급속한 자기 발열 반응이 일어나는 특성을 보여, 외부 촉발을 통해 상온에서 온도를 높일 수 없는 접합이나 마이크로 수준의 미세 접합이 가능한 접합재료로서 활용이 상당히 기대되는 재료이다. 본 연구에서는 스퍼터링법을 이용하여 한 층이 20 nm 이하에서 Al과 Ni의 혼합 기준을 달리한 Al/Ni 나노 멀티 900층을 제조와 제조된 반응성 포일이 자기 발열 반응에 따른 미세구조에 대해 조사하였다. 박막의 증착은 3~10 mTorr의 공정압력 으로 Al 타겟 전류 1.7 A, Ni 타겟 전류 1.4 A로 하여 증착시간을 조절하여 제조하였다. SEM과 EDX를 통하여 Al/Ni 나노 멀티 포일의 성장구조와 각 원소의 함량을 조사하였다. XRD 미세결정구조 분석은 제조된 반응성 포일과 외부 촉발시킨 후 자기 발열 반응에 의해 형성되는 혼합 상에 대한 조사를 실시하였다. 혼합기준이 1:1의 Al/Ni 나노 멀티 포일에서 약 $980^{\circ}C$의 발열이 발생하는 것을 Pyrometer를 통해 측정하였으며, 자기 발열 반응 후의 혼합 상은 AlNi이 형성되었다. Ni rich 포일에서는 약 $730^{\circ}C$의 발열이 발생하였고, 혼합상으로 주로 AlNi이 형성되었고 Al3Ni2도 나타났으며, 반응에 참여하지 못한 Ni이 남아있는 것을 관찰하였다. Al rich 포일에서는 약 $720^{\circ}C$의 발열과 함께 AlNi, $AlNi_3$이 형성되었고 반응에 참여하지 못한 Al이 미세하게 나타났다.

B2-NiAl 금속간 화합물의 기계적 성질 및 내산화성에 미치는 Ni함량의 영향 (The Effects of Ni Content on Mechanical and Oxidation Resistance Properties of B2-NiAl Intermetallic Compounds)

  • The B2-ordered NiAl has attracted much attention as one of the candidates as a next generation high temperature material, because it has a high melting temperature, a low specific gravity and an excellent high temperature oxidation resistance. However, the application of NiAl to structural materials needs the improvement of its brittleness at room temperature. The study was carried out on the relation between several properties of NiAl and some variation of Ni content within NiAl phase, which means deviations from the stoichiometric composition. The main results were as follows; (i) Good ductility was obtained at the testing temperature more than 1073 K irrespective of Ni content. (ii) Increasing Ni content offered preferable tensile properties. (iii) Every NiAl with varying Ni contents showed the superior oxidation resistance.

Interdiffusion Studies of βNiAl Bond Coats: Understanding the Zr, Pt, and Al Migration Trends and Their Beneficial Effects

  • The oxidation resistance of the diffusion aluminide bond coat (BC) is compromised largely by interdiffusion (ID) effects on coated turbine blades of aeroengines. The present study is designed to understand the influence of ID on βNiAl coatings or BC. In this regard, nickel substrate and CMSX-4 superalloy are deposited. In total, four sets of BCs are developed, i.e. pure βNiAl (on Ni substrate), simple βNiAl (on CMSX-4 substrate), Zr-βNiAl (on CMSX-4 substrate) and Pt-βNiAl (on CMSX-4 substrate). The main aim of this study is to understand the interdiffusion of Al, Zr and Pt during preparation and oxidation. In addition, the beneficial effects of both Zr and platinum are assessed. Pure βNiAl and simple βNiAl show Ni-out-diffusion, whereas for platinum inward diffusion to the substrate is noticed under vacuum treatment. Interestingly, Zr-βNiAl shows the least ID in all BCs and exhibit stability under both vacuum and oxidation treatments. However, its spallation resistance is slightly lower than that of Pt-βNiAl BC. All BCs show similar oxide growth trends, except for Zr-βNiAl, which exhibits two-stage oxidations, i.e. transient and steady-state. Moreover, it is suggested that the localized spallation in all BCs is caused by βNiAl - γ'-Ni3Al transformation.

Al-Ni계의 기계·화학적 방법으로 제조된 Raney Ni의 미세 구조 분석 (Microstructure of Raney Ni fabricated by Mechanochemical Process in Al-Ni System)

  • The Raney Ni catalyst was fabricated by mechanochemically process(MC process) in the Al-Ni system. Intermetallic compound obtained by mechanical alloying was leached in an alkaline solution. The characteristics of the mechanically alloyed powder and Raney Ni catalyst were analyzed by XRD, ICP-AES and EXAFS. In Al-50wt.%Ni, the metastable intermetallic compound phase close to AlNi phase was obtained by mechanical alloying unlike Al-Ni equilibrium phase diagram. The metastable intermetallic compound was transformed into $Al_3$$Ni_2$phase via the annealing at $750^{\circ}C$. The microstructure of Raney Ni fabricated by MC process was mainly bcc Ni including fcc Ni.

고주파 유도가열을 통한 알루미늄 기판재위 Ni-Al계 금속간화합물의 연소합성코팅에 관한 연구 (A Study for Ni-Al based Intermetallics Coating onto Aluminum Substrate by Induction Heating)

  • In order to investigate the possibility of Ni-Al based intermetallics coating onto aluminum substrate, the coating process for induction heating has been evaluated by microscopically analyzing the intermetallic layers coated at temperatures lower than the melting temperature of aluminum. The coating layers were divided into two parts with different microstructure along the depth. Hard $NiAl_3$ layer was found at lower parts of the coatings near the interface with aluminum substrate. This layer was formed by the diffusion of aluminum atoms from the substrate into the coating layer across the interface during the induction heating. Meanwhile, at the upper parts of the coating near the surface, a large amount of un-reacted Ni was still remained and surrounded by several Ni-Al based intermetallic compounds, such as $Ni_3Al$, NiAl and $Ni_2Al_3$ formed by the lattice diffusion.

B2-규칙 NiAl계에 $L2_1$$Ni_2AlTi$상의 석출거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Precipitation Behavior of $L2_1$-type $Ni_2AlTi$ Phase in B2-Ordered NiAl System)

  • A transmission electron microscope (TEM) investigation has been performed on the precipitation of $L2_1$-type $Ni_2AlTi$ phase in B2-ordered NiAl system. The hardness after solution treatment is high in NiAl-Ti alloys suggesting the large contribution of solid solution strengthening in this alloy system. However, the amount of age hardening is not large as compared to the large microstructural variations during aging. At the beginning of aging, the $L2_1$-type $Ni_2AlTi$ precipitates keep a lattice coherency with the NiAl matrix. By longer periods of aging $Ni_2AlTi$ precipitates lose their coherency and change their morphology to the globular ones surrounded by misfit dislocations. Misfit dislocations, which are observed on {100} planes of H-precipitates have the Burgers vector of a <100> with a pure edge type. The lattice misfits of NiAl-$Ni_2AlTi$ system is estimated from the spacings of misfit dislocations to be 1.1% at 1273 K. The lattice misfits decrease with increasing aging temperature in this system.

통전활성 소결법에 의한 PSZ/NiCrAlY계 복합체의 제조 및 특성평가 (Fabrication and Characterization of PSZ/NiCrAlY Composites by Plasma Activated Sintering)

  • 통전활성 소결법을 이용하여 단상의 세라믹스(PSZ) 및 금속(NiCrAlY)과 PSZ/NiCrAlY 복합체를 각 소결온도에서 제조하였으며, 이에 대한 특성평가는 개량형 소형펀치 시험법을 이용하여 수행하였다. 복합체의 밀도 및 경도에 미치는 소결온도의 영향은 NiCrAlY의 부피분율 증가에 따라 감소되었으며, 중간조성에서의 밀도 및 경도는 연속적인 변화를 나타내었다. 파괴인성의 변화에서는 60vol%-NiCrAlY 이상의 조성에서 급격한 증가를 나타내었으며, 짧은 소결시간 및 빠른 승온속도 등 통전활성 소결법의 장점에 의해 단상의 PSZ에서도 10 MPa.m$^{1}$2/ 의 높은 파괴인성 값을 얻을 수 있었다. PSZ/NiCrAlY 복합체에서의 특성은 소결온도와 NiCrAlY의 부피분율에 의해 지배적으로 영향을 받았으며, 단상의 PSZ은 전형적인 취성거동을 나타내었고 80vol%-NiCrAlY 까지의 복합체에서는 부분적인 취성 및 소성거동을 함께 나타내었다. 각 소결체에서 최고의 특성을 나타내고 소결온도는 단상의 PSZ 경우인 140$0^{\circ}C$에서부터 단상의 NiCrAlY 경우인 120$0^{\circ}C$까지 최대 20$0^{\circ}C$의 차이를 나타내었으며, PSZ과 NiCrAlY의 조성비에 따라서 연속적인 변화를 보였다.

자전고온반응에 의한 금속간화합물/금속 적층복합재료의 제조공정변수가 미세조직에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Fabrication Process Parameters on the Microstructures of Intermetallic/Metal Laminated Composite by Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis)

  • 본 논문에서는 Ni과 Al 금속박판 사이의 자전고온반응을 이용한 금속간화합물/금속 적층복합재료의 제조시 제조공정 조건이 최종 미세조직에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 열분석을 통하여 Ni과 Al사이의 반응은 먼저 NiA1$_3$가 핵생성­성장 기구에 의해 생성된 후 다시 Ni$_2$A1$_3$로 확산변태됨을 확인하였다. 자전고온반응을 열역학적으로 해석하여 금속박판의 두께비(Ni:Al) 및 반응전 열처리와 반응후 미세조직에서 잔류한 Al의 부피분율과의 관계를 정립하였다. 후열처리 공정에 의해 Ni/Nl$_3$Al/NiAl의 적층구조와 각 두께비에서 82%(1:1), 59.5%(2:1), 40%(4:1)의 부피분율을 가지는 금속간화합물/금속적층복합재료를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Ni coated $Al_2O_3$ composite was successfully Prepared by the electroless deposition Process. The average size of Ni particles coated on the $Al_2O_3$ matrix powder was about 20 nm. It was hard to find any reaction compound as an impurity at interface between $Al_2O_3$ and Ni particles after sintering. The characterization of microstructure crystal structure and fracture behavior of the sintered body were investigated using XRD, TEM and Victors hardness tester, and compared with those of the sintered $Al_2O_3$ monolithic body. Many dislocations were observed in the Ni phase due to the difference of thermal expansion coefficient between $Al_2O_3$ and Ni phase, and no observed microcracks at their $Al_2O_3$ and Ni interface. In the $Al_2O_3$/Ni composite, the main fracture mode showed a mixed fracture with intergranular and transgranuluar type having some ,surface roughness. The fracture toughness was slightly increased due to the plastic deformation mechanism of Ni phase in the $Al_2O_3$/Ni composite.
