Hospitals under competitive environment are getting more interested in PR(public relations) as a means of marketing. A typical form of public relations for the hospital is publicity, and its principal instrument is the press release that provides the mass media with the raw material and background for a news story. The purpose of this paper is to examine and analyze the public relations articles associated with hospitals in the section of health care in major daily newspapers. Three major daily newspapers, Chosun, Joongang and Hankyoreh have been analyzed for a year from January 1, 1998 to December 31, 1998. All articles in the health care section are classified by content, size, press comments, and style. This study has found some perverse aspects of the public relations such as the preponderance of health articles on tertiary medical institutions, inappropriate publicity focused on certain medical treatments, doctors, and hospitals, and the positive press comments on the hospitals that are affiliated with the same corporate group as the newspaper.

본 연구는 항공위기와 관련하여 언론을 통해 어떠한 위기 스토리텔링이 형성되는지 신문기사를 분석하여 살펴보고 이러한 스토리텔링이 고객들의 기업에 대한 평가에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대해 고찰하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 질적인 방법인 내용분석을 통해 스토리텔링 구조를 파악한 뒤 설문조사를 실시하여 실제 공중들의 평가는 어떠한지 살펴보았다. 그 결과 대상 기사의 10% 정도가 승무원들의 영웅적인 활약상에 대해 긍정적으로 보도하고 있었으며, 메시지는 '눈물, 침착, 영웅, 민첩한 대처, 헌신, 유감, 기타'로 유형화되었고, 승무원들의 영웅적인 활약상에 대한 기사들은 영웅신화의 분리, 입문, 회귀의 이야기구조를 형성하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 위기 상황에서 승무원들의 헌신적인 활동은 기업의 위기대처 능력의 평가와 기업이미지에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 조사되었다.

이 연구는 한국 언론의 젠더담론을 살펴보기 위해 ${\ll}$조선일보${\gg}$ ${\ll}$한겨레신문${\gg}$을 사회면에 실린 여성관련 범죄뉴스의 프레임을 분석하였다. 스트레이트 기사형식을 선호하는 사회면의 범죄기사는 대부분 일화 중심적 뉴스 프레임을 취하고 있었다. 일화 중심 프레임의 기사들이 피해 여성의 이미지를 형성하는 프레이밍 기제들은 가해자 중심의 서술 및 여성 피해자의 타자화, 남성필자의 가부장적인 시선, 선정적 묘사, 여성의 신체적 취약성과 수동성 강조, 피해자 여성 비난하기 등이었다. 주제 중심적 프레임 기사의 특성은 선정성 부각과 함께 사회구조 탓하기와 구체적 대안의 부재로 분석되었다. 후속보도가 이어진 하양피살사건에 대한 사례분석의 결과에 의하면, 사건의 내용이 바뀌었음에도 불구하고 사건발생 초기에 설정된 흥미위주의 여성에 대한 선정적 프레임은 지속되었으며, 이는 한국언론의 내재된 여성관을 확인시켜주는 대표적 사례였다. 이러한 결과는 선정성을 강조하는 언론의 상업주의적인 태도와 경직된 취재보도체제에 비롯되며, 특히 남성편향적인 프레임들은 경찰발표를 그대로 받아쓰는 관행적인 뉴스제작 관습과, 남성기자와 남성적인 뉴스조직의 가치판단에 의해서 형성된다. 두 신문은 정치적 노선의 차이에도 불구하고 여성을 다루는 방식에서 여성문제에 대한 무관심을 드러내는 동시에 가부장적인 여성관을 보여준다. 이는 우리사회의 보수세력과 진보세력의 담론 모두가 남성적 담론으로서 여성은 담론상의 위치에서 사회적 약자로서 소외되고 있음을 반증한다.

본 연구는 3개 신문사에 나타난 「장애인복지법」상장애에 대한 기사를 분석했다. 3개 신문사는 <동아일보>, <한국일보>, <한겨레신문>의 신문사 홈페이지에서 수집한 장애관련 기사는 총 7,684건이다. 네트워크 텍스트분석과 내용분석을 통하여 다중장애모델의 '장애관'을 고찰하였다. 본 연구의 결과로 개별모델 및 사회모델을 비교로 개별모델 64.31%, 사회모델 35.69%로 개별모델이 상당히 높게 나타났다. 3개 신문사에 나타난 장애관은 전통적 개별모델의 장애로 개인이 해결해야 하는 것으로 나타났다. 사회 환경적 및 제도적 문제는 낮게 나타나 사회적 약자인 장애인에 대한 국민들의 관심과 배려가 요구된다. 본 연구의 사회복지적 함의는 장애를 바라보는 시대 변화에도 신문은 전통적 패러다임에 머물고 있었다. 장애를 장애인의 관점에서 바라보는 것이 요구되며, 개별적 욕구의 다양성을 인식하는 성숙한 의식이 필요하다. 본 연구는 신문기사에 나타난 장애관을 양적·질적 데이터의 양방향 시도를 고찰한 점에서 의의가 있다.

정보처리기술의 발달과 인터넷 이용의 확산에 따라 1995년부터 국내 신문사들도 텍스트뿐만 아니라 이미지, 음성, 동화상을 포함하는 멀티미디어 전자신문을 인터넷 WWW에 경쟁적으로 서비스하기 시작했다. 신문기사의 인터넷 서비스는 일반 이용자들이 쉽고 빠르게 다양한 정보를 이용할 수 있는 정보원일 뿐만 아니라 도서관의 중요한 참고봉사 도구가 될 수 있다. 그러나 현재 국내 전자신문서비스는 서비스 자체에만 목적을 둔 경우가 많아 정보내용이 풍부하지 않고 이용자 위주의 검색쳬계가 확립되어 있지 않은 것이 많다. 본 연구는 인터넷 WWW 전자신문의 구축과정과 특성 및 국내 신문사가 제공하고 있는 서비스 현항과 내용을 살펴보았다. 또한 효율적인 이용자 서비스 방안을 모색하기 위해서 국내 6개 전자신문의 메뉴구성, 검색체계, 이용자 안내정보표시 등을 비교분석하고 문제점을 고찰하였다.

이 연구에서는 중앙지와 지역일간지가 인천경제자유구역 개발 뉴스를 어떻게 보도했으며, 이 과정에서 언론이 어떤 방식으로 역할을 했는지를 살펴보았다. 중앙지와 지역일간지 간에 현실 재구성, 뉴스보도 가치 등의 차이점을 발견하는데 주력했다. 보도방식은 고전적인 형식에 최근 경향을 적절히 반영하고 있음이 확인됐다. 지역 현안을 바라보는 조선일보의 시각은 찬 반의 명확한 태도에서 벗어난 중간자적 입장을 취했으며 반면 경인일보는 감시자의 입장에 서 있었다. 즉 전국을 취재 권역으로 한 중앙지는 지역 이슈에 대해 관망적인 자세를 보였고, 해당 지역을 중심으로 기사를 작성하는 지역일간지는 적극적인 보도 태도를 취했다. 이런 뉴스구성 태도는 실제 지면으로 이어지는 기준인 뉴스가치에도 그대로 반영됐다. 조선일보는 정치적 영향성에, 경인일보는 문화적 유사성에 집중하고 있었으며, 인천경제자유구역 개발 뉴스는 매체 간 구분 없이 대체적으로 경제적 중요성과 인간적 흥미성은 높았고 선정성 및 규범적 일탈성은 낮았다.

이 연구는 대학신문에 보도된 도서관에 관한 기사를 분석하여, 그 당시에 대학도서관이 담당했던 역할과 시대에 따라 어떻게 변하여 왔는가를 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 지난 60여 년간 P대학에서 간행한 신문을 대상으로 대학도서관과 관련된 전체 기사를 대상으로 조사 분석하였다. 그 결과 시대의 변화에 따라 기사의 내용도 많이 변화하였던 것을 알 수 있었다. 이 결과는 냉철한 자세로 스스로의 반성을 통해 현실을 직시하며, 미래지향적인 바람직한 도서관상을 정립하기 위한 대학도서관 운영이나 장기발전계획등의 기초 자료로 사용할 수 있을 것이다.

기존의 온라인 신문에서는 다른 신문사의 기사와 비교하기 위하여 다른 스크립트 창에서 확인해야 하는 등의 번거로움이 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 매일같이 쓰여지는 뉴스 기사들을 신문사별, 분야별로 분류하여 사용자가 원하는 방식으로 서비스하는 'Rose News Reader' 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 여러 뉴스사의 뉴스 헤드라인 정보를 보여줌으로써 자신이 원하는 모든 정보를 한꺼번에 비교할 수 있고, 분석을 통한 올바르고 정확한 정보 습득할 수 있다.

This study aims to prove the changes, development and social background of Korean male cosmetics over the period of 2000-2010. There were total 574 articles written about male make-up and cosmetics in Chosun Daily, Joongang Daily and Donga Daily, which are the top three Korean local daily newspapers in terms of sales revenue for that period. These articles were analyzed together with social background research from various books and daily newspapers. The analysis of articles was divided into different categories; such as foundation cosmetics, color cosmetics, hair, and the social background. It was found that the articles related to foundation cosmetics were written the most, the articles related to male appearance management were second, articles on other items including how to manage the skin being the least. As for the social background of Korean male cosmetics, first of all, a change in social recognition can be pointed out. The traditional understanding of gender roles has changed, men's appearance management has started to be regarded as a competitive talent, and at the same time, the esthetic viewpoint for men also has changed. One example is the newly made popular term, "flower-handsome man", which shows the new trend of favoring males with nice skin. Second, the expansion of mass culture can be pointed out. As consumers can get information and fashion trends easier and faster, the fashion spreads fast, and this has led to the generalization and popularization of the sense of beauty. Third, the development of scientific technology and medical science can be pointed out. Thanks to the progress in those areas. the extension of youthfulness has become possible and the cosmetics industry was also affected greatly, as shown in the market spread of functional products for anti-ageing and wrinkle control as the interest in anti-ageing has grown. There are benefits from the development of scientific technology, but the problem of environmental pollution has appeared due to machinery and industrialization and thus the issue of well-being has been raised. Rising interest in naturalism, pro-environmentalism and organic cosmetics has influenced the cosmetics industry. In addition, the quantity of ultraviolet rays exposed to our skin has increased due to the air pollution caused by the destruction of environment, leading to increased usage of sun block lotion. Lastly, the influence of consumer society and the expansion of consumerism culture can be pointed out. In the modern society, consumption acts not only as the use of products and services but it also has an important role of mediating individuals with others and the society. The market for male cosmetics has been expanding and the number of men putting on make-up has been increasing rapidly. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that the analysis of the mode of change and the social background are an essential process in order to provide a direction for the future market for male cosmetics.

Objectives : Despite the substantial amount of newspaper coverage related to complementary and alternative medicine on the internet in recent years, little is know about the quality of the health information. To evaluate health information of the newspaper articles on moxibustion available in Korea through Korean language search engines and Web sites. Methods : We searched 454 news stories about moxibustion between 1 January 2006 and 31 December 2008. Among them, 34 internet news coverage related to health information on moxibustion were selected and rated against eight categories by two individuals. Results : The inter-rater reliability of the two reviewers was assessed as 0.69, indicating a moderately high level of agreement. The overall rating score for 34 articles was 35.7${\pm}$17.2 for the statement criteria and 12.9${\pm}$17.0 for the satisfaction criteria. Overall, although they might be improving recently, the scores remain generally low. There was a statistically significant difference in the score of the newspaper coverage according to the type of evidence sources, including anecdotes. Conclusions : There is substantial variability in news reporting practices about moxibustion. It is urgently needed to enhance the information related to CAM including moxibustion through the news media in Korea.
