The purpose of this study is to examine the changes and the using condition of functional cosmetics through articles of newspaper and the survey on functional cosmetics. The data analysis examined newspaper articles that demonstrate a grasp of the general trends of cosmetics, and these articles were chosen from the "Cosmetics Newspapers" and the "Jangeop Newspaper" with content primarily emphasizing articles about cosmetics. All articles on functional cosmetics were collected for the period from 2000 to 2005, and excluding repeated articles a total of 703 cases were examined. In addition, a survey was performed to examine how much women are using functional cosmetics and what the current state of their use is. This survey was conducted from October $1{\sim}20$, 2004, and respondents consisted of 350 adult females living in the areas of Daejeon, North and South Chungcheong Provinces and Daegu. Responses from a total of 302 individuals were included in the data analysis. The results of this study show a situation where the current use of functional cosmetics is gradually increasing, and because of external changes in the skin resulting from the development of modern society, functional cosmetics are being used by women as a means of increasing their opportunities for personal expression due to their skin improvement effects as well as increased confidence and a sense of satisfaction.

본 연구는 노베르트 엘리아스의 진행형 사회학 알려진 문명화 과정 이론을 중심으로 전통적으로 비영어권 또는 아시아권 영화에 대한 시상이 드물었던 아카데미 시상식에서 처음으로 4개 부문의 오스카 트로피를 수상한 영화 <기생충>과의 '기득권과 아웃사이더 (Elias & Scotson, 1994)' 권력관계를 연구했다. 연구 분석을 위하여 지난 제92회 수상식 전후 한 달 기간의 미국과 한국 6개의 신문을 질적 내용분석을 했다. 첫 번째로, 전통적으로 아카데미 시상식은 비영어권 또는 아시아권 영화들에 기득권적 배경이 있었다. 하지만 지난 제92회 시상식에서 영화 <기생충>의 4개 부문 수상으로 전통적인 아카데미의 기득권에 변화가 나타났다. 두 번째로 역사적으로 비영어권 영화에 대해 아카데미 시상식의 전통적 낙인(언어적 낙인)과 집단 카리스마 (아카데미 시상식) 등을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로, 아카데미 시상식에 관한 양국 신문 보도는 일반적으로 유사하지만, 한국 신문의 경우 기사를 통한 개인, 사회 그리고 국가의 일체화 양상이 발견되었다.

본 연구는 네이버 뉴스스탠드의 10개 종합일간지 홈페이지에 대한 분석을 통해 온라인 신문의 지면구성 요소와 각 신문의 지면구성은 어떻게 차별화되고 있는가를 파악하기 위해 실시되었다. 자료 수집은 두 차례에 걸쳐 실시되었으며, 분석 방법은 일원분산분석(One-Way ANOVA) 기법을 이용하였다. 분석 내용은 시각적 이미지 유형, 사진기사와 제목기사 수, 메인기사 이미지의 크기다. 분석결과 종이신문과 차별화되는 오디오, 동영상, 카드, 슬라이드 형식의 뉴스기사 비율이 매우 낮았으며, 그래픽 소스를 이용한 뉴스기사도 극소수에 불과했다. 그러나 전체적인 면에서 네이버 뉴스스탠드의 신문들은 다양한 편집기법을 이용하여 지면의 차별화를 꾀하고 있었다. 본 연구의 의의는 신문의 뉴스소비 촉진을 위한 편집방향에 기초적인 단서를 제공할 수 있을 것이다. 뉴미디어 기술에 의한 미디어 생태계가 빠르게 재형성되고 있는 가운데 신문지면은 어떻게 변화되는가에 대한 지속적인 연구가 필요할 것이다.

본 연구는 트위터의 정보전달과 여론형성 기능에 주목해 트위터에서 사회적 이슈가 어떻게 해석 전달되고 있는지를 신문과 비교했다. 분석에 사용된 이슈는 MBC 파업으로 이에 관한 트위터의 맨션과 신문 기사를 분석함으로 해당 미디어에서 MBC파업 이슈가 어떻게 차별적으로 다뤄졌는지를 살펴보았다. 분석방법은 내용분석을 사용했으며 분석 항목은 트위터(신문기사) 형식, 정보원의 사용, 의견표출 방식, 인간적 흥미 프레임과 귀인 프레임의 사용 등이었다. 연구결과, 트위터와 신문의 차이를 분석항목에서 관찰할 수 있었다. 연구결과를 트위터와 신문 간의 이슈 속성의 차이 측면에서 논의하였으며 트위터와 신문의 미디어로써의 본질적 기능과 연관시켜 논의했다.

Retro fashion is emerging among young people as an approach to discovering a new meaning in Korea's historical culture. Research on Korea's unique retro fashion culture is required because there is no research on retro fashion culture based on Korea's historical background. Therefore, this study examined how retro fashion culture has progressed based on Korea's historical background from a nostalgic perspective. All retro-related newspaper articles from 1950 to 2020 were collected, and content analysis was conducted for each semantic unit. The results revealed that personal nostalgia is based on personal experience and is extending to younger generations. In terms of nostalgia in interpersonal relationships, the younger generation reinterpreted the fashion culture of the older generation after the 2010s. In terms of vicarious nostalgia, a retro culture reminiscent of the 1990s with a background in economic development and consumption culture appeared after 2012. The youth culture and university culture of the 1970s and 1980s were reinterpreted as street fashion. Since the late 2010s, the younger generation has been exhibiting cultural nostalgia, believing that the historical Korean culture is not outdated but has a unique heritage formed during the modernization process. Symbolic nostalgia appeared in Korean fashion culture during modernization.

This study aims to find out tendencies of transition of family values in newspapers which were published in May. The study was conducted on content analysis of Chosun and Donga daily newspapers in odd dates of May from 1970 to 2014. Based on preceding research, family values were classified into sub areas such as 'Value of Family,' 'Value of Marriage,' 'Value of Children,' 'Value of Filial Piety' and 'Value of Sex Role.' The collected articles were classified into five sub areas. This study collected 288 articles considering overlap count. According to the study, the newspapers seem to be interested in 'Value of Family' and 'Value of Children', but not 'Value of Marriage'. And academic, social, political efforts to improve family life or raise a necessity to change family values can evoke mass media's interest about family values. Meanwhile, some newspaper articles appear to support an opinion that 'The Healthy Families Act' postulates a claim like 'the traditional family is a normal family'. It seems that newspapers misunderstood about 'The Healthy Families Act.' So we should judge what is more right between two opinions because mass media can reconstruct reality. The tendency of transition of family values is actually slight or the tendency of family values in newspapers cannot show actual family values. Moreover, we have to reconsider that highlighting just 'paternity' can make men overlook other roles in the household like caring for children or cleaning.

사망기사는 각 언어 문화의 특성이 반영된 귀중한 자료임에도 불구하고, 한국 학계의 관심을 받지 못했다. 특히 언어학적 관점에서 사망기사를 조명한 최근의 연구는 찾아보기 어렵다. 이에 본 연구는 코퍼스 분석기법을 적용하여 한국 및 영미권의 사망기사를 비교 연구하였다. 코퍼스 분석 프로그램 워드스미스(WordSmith)의 어휘목록(wordlist), 클러스터(cluster) 분석과 용례색인(concordance)을 활용하여 한국어와 영어 사망기사에 등장하는 고(高)빈도어를 찾고, 이로부터 각 언어 사망기사의 의미 있는 패턴을 포착하여 각각의 특징을 정리하였다. 본 연구에서 수집 분석한 코퍼스에서 한국과 영미권 사망기사는 뚜렷이 구별되는 특징을 보였다.

Objectives: This study aimed to explore the health inequality discourse in the Korean press by analyzing newspaper articles using a relatively new content analysis technique. Methods: This study used the search term "health inequality" to collect articles containing that term that were published between 2000 and 2018. The collected articles went through pre-processing and topic modeling, and the contents and temporal trends of the extracted topics were analyzed. Results: A total of 1038 articles were identified, and 5 topics were extracted. As the number of studies on health inequality has increased over the past 2 decades, so too has the number of news articles regarding health inequality. The extracted topics were public health policies, social inequalities in health, inequality as a social problem, healthcare policies, and regional health gaps. The total number of occurrences of each topic increased every year, and the trend observed for each theme was influenced by events related to its contents, such as elections. Finally, the frequency of appearance of each topic differed depending on the type of news source. Conclusions: The results of this study can be used as preliminary data for future attempts to address health inequality in Korea. To make addressing health inequality part of the public agenda, the media's perspective and discourse regarding health inequality should be monitored to facilitate further strategic action.

To determine the problems with the apartment management system in Korea and to make recommendations for its development, a review and content analysis of the 2010 and 2011 editorials of two newspapers, The APT News and The Korea Apartment News, was conducted. Apartment management is divided into four areas: maintenance management, operations management, community management, and synthetic management. More than 50 percent of the editorials were concerned with the problems of operations management. There were two management subjects: the apartment manager and the apartment management company. Interest in the apartment management system varied between apartment managers and apartment management companies, so more positive policies and more interest are needed for apartment management.

This study is considered how to use newspapers to apply education by the way of analyses of environment coverage in newspapers. Data for the study were gathered by content analyses of KINDS(Korean Integrated News Database System) established by Korean Press Institute. The environment coverage is mainly placed in social and regional magazines of newspapers, and the news story are mainly assigned to straight/feature magazines in type. The news of environment coverage is mostly gathered from data by government-informer, and the news is positive/agreement or negative/disagreement in tenor. The news gathering methods of planning/magazine newspaper serial are scientific and objective, and they are of the firsthand data by news reporter, contributions by experts and interviews. The spaces of the news are specially edited. The environment news is often negative/disagreeable in tenor because the news is mostly of straight ones written by non-experts. Applying newspapers in education is a useful learning method which students could develop thinking power and induce concerning and interest by themselves. From the results of the study, the useful suggestions to apply newspapers to learning are as follows. At first, spaces and types of news must be read in detail. Secondly, it is hopeful that indirect news by not writer himself might be possibly avoided in learning. Thirdly, the themes of news would be picked up in relation with learning contents. Lastly, it suggests that the tenor of news is neutral or, in cases, positive and negative together possibly.
