Design and Implementation of the News Video Retrieval System based on Automatic Indexing (자동 인덱싱에 기반한 뉴스 비디오 검색 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • 현재 사용하는 순차적인 뉴스 비디오 검색 방법은 많은 시간을 소비한다는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 , 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 뉴스 비디오를 내용(뉴스 사건)단위별로 검색할수 있는 자동 인덱스 모듈과 원격 검색 브라우저 모듈을 제시한다. 인덱싱 모듈은 기본적으로 이미지 프로세싱을 기반으로 하여 뉴스 앵커를 검출하고 뉴스 아이템을 분할한다. 인덱싱 구성요소는 뉴스 비디오 내용에 대한 대표영상(뉴스아이콘)과 부가적인 정보를 포함하는 뉴스 자막으로 구성하였다. 검색 브라우저 모듈은 추출된 인덱싱 요소를 아이콘하여 뉴스사건 단위로 내용을 검색할수 있도록 설계하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 매일 발생되는 뉴스를 자동 인덱싱하여 사용자에게 뉴스서비스의 효율적인 적용이 기대된다.

A Study on Cognition about Personal Broadcasting

  • Personal media centered on blogs, Twitter, and Facebook has opened up a personal broadcasting area while meeting platforms such as YouTube and Africa TV. Due to the many advantages and disadvantages of personal broadcasting, a study on it was necessary and statistical survey was conducted. The study conducted opinion survey of 118 university students on personal broadcasting. As a result, we are getting news using smartphones and mainly watching videos through YouTube, and watching videos type in the order of games, music videos and sports. Satisfaction rate of video was 72.4%, 80.2% of survey did not use paid services, experiences about personal broadcasting was 96.6% and 90.5% of survey the prospect of person broadcasting of the opinion that "it will be expanded". The first thing we want to be improved in personal broadcasting is the prevention of abusive language and hate speech. Second, we were reluctant to sensational content. Third, the survey results are the improvement of excessive advertising.

  • As deep learning technologies becoming developed, realistic fake videos synthesized by deep learning models called "Deepfake" videos became even more difficult to distinguish from original videos. As fake news or Deepfake blackmailing are causing confusion and serious problems, this paper suggests a novel model detecting Deepfake videos. We chose Residual Convolutional Neural Network (Resnet50) as an extraction model and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) which is a form of Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) as a classification model. We adopted cosine similarity with hinge loss to train our extraction model in embedding the features of Deepfake and original video. The result in this paper demonstrates that temporal features in the videos are essential for detecting Deepfake videos.

Framework for Multimedia Service using Multicast in CVCN Network

  • Vehicle communication networks have some deficient network resources to support a vast multimedia service including safety driving information, video, news and some broadcast relayed from the playgrounds such as professional baseball games for autonomous vehicles. This paper deals with the framework for providing seamless multimedia service including safety driving information using multicast in cooperated-connected vehicle communication network (CVCN). It adopts smart-switch (SS) and smart intelligent multicast agent(SIMA) to support the seamless multimedia service. The SS manages and switches multimedia streams through SIMA in CVCN network. The SIMA to operate as an access point, is composed of multicast supporting part and control part of mobile devices/autonomous vehicles in CVCN network. Therefore this proposed technique using SS and SIMA within CVCN network is a new framework for multimedia service that can disperse the load of server.

Analysis of YouTube's role as a new platform between media and consumers

  • YouTube realistically shows fake news and biased content based on facts that have not been verified due to low entry barriers and ambiguity in video regulation standards. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of the media and YouTube on individual behavior and their relationship. Data from YouTube and Twitter are randomly imported with selenium, beautiful soup, and Twitter APIs to classify the 31 most frequently mentioned keywords. Based on 31 keywords classified, data were collected from YouTube, Twitter, and Naver News, and positive, negative, and neutral emotions were classified and quantified with NLTK's Natural Language Toolkit (NLTK) Vader model and used as analysis data. As a result of analyzing the correlation of data, it was confirmed that the higher the negative value of news, the more positive content on YouTube, and the positive index of YouTube content is proportional to the positive and negative values on Twitter. As a result of this study, YouTube is not consistent with the emotion index shown in the news due to its secondary processing and affected characteristics. In other words, processed YouTube content intuitively affects Twitter's positive and negative figures, which are channels of communication. The results of this study analyzed that YouTube plays a role in assisting individual discrimination in the current situation where accurate judgment of information has become difficult due to the emergence of yellow media that stimulates people's interests and instincts.

Priming Effects of Disaster-related TV News: Focusing on the Interactions of Geographical and Psychological Distance (재난 뉴스의 점화 효과: 지리적·심리적 거리의 상호작용을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the priming effects of disaster-related news. Specifically, this study aimed to examine the priming effects about trauma words and neutral words according to the geographical and psychological distance from the disaster. The participants in this study were 75 college students who had not experienced the Daegu subway fire accident, and whom were not ruled out after completing the screening measure completing the screening measure the completion of questionnaires for screening. All participants conducted a lexical decision task after watching a news video about the Daegu subway fire accident. The design was a 2 (Geographical distance: close vs. distant) × 2 (Psychological distance: close vs. distant) × 2 (Priming type: trauma priming vs. neutral priming) mixed-design. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, the group which was geographically closer to the disaster tended to revealed a largerbigger priming effect than the distant group-a trend toward significance. Second, within the psychologically closer to the disaster, group, for those who were geographically closer too, the priming effect was larger for those who were geographically closer geographically closer than for the geographically distant group. Third, the geographically closer group had a largerbigger neutral priming effect than the distant group. Fourth, the psychologically distant group had a largerbigger neutral priming effect than the close group. To sum up, this study identified that disaster news coverage may have an implicit effect on people, and this influence can change according to the geographical and psychological distance. Finally, this study discussed the limitations of the study and recommendations for further research.

  • This article focuses on Funology and a new classified application system based on concept of language and thought which are formed by body experience. It is defined by Funology Body as that. Funology Body is classifying and searching system which are consisted of a body, world (environment), and device tool. The body is sectioned by Brain, Eyes, Ears, Nose, Mouth, Hand, Torso, Feet, and Heart according as parts of the human body. This allows intuiting and experience searching as making classified system connected to the application relationship with concept of an each part of body. The Feet is classified by Travel, Transportation, Map, and Outdoor for moving and concept of expanding the terrain. Topic Modeling of News Article Related to Franchise Regulation Using LDA (LDA 를 이용한 '프랜차이즈 규제' 관련 뉴스기사 토픽모델링)

  • Purpose: In 2020, the franchise industry accomplished a significant growth compared to the previous year, as the number of franchise companies increased by 9.0% while the number of franchise brands increased by 12.5%. Despite growth in size, the Korean franchise industry underwent many negative incidents, such as franchise ownership sales to private equity funds, that led to deterioration of businesses. From this point of view, this study aims to make various proposals to help policy makers develop franchise industry policies by analyzing trends of the current and previous presidential administrations' franchise policies and regulations using newspaper articles. Research design, data and methodology: A total of 7,439 articles registered in Naver API from February 25, 2013 to November 29, 2021 were extracted. Among them, 34 unrelated video articles were deleted, and a total of 7,405 articles from both administrations were used for analysis. The R package was used for word frequency analysis, word clouding, word correlation analysis, and LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation) topic modeling. Results: The keyword frequency analysis shows that the most frequently mentioned keywords during the previous administration include 'no-brand', 'major company', 'bill', 'business field', and 'SMEs', and those mentioned during the current administration include 'industry' and 'policy'. As a result of LDA topic modeling, 9 topics such as 'global startups' and 'job creation' from the previous administration, and 10 topics such as 'franchise business' and 'distribution industry' from the current administration were derived. The results of LDAvis showed that the previous administration operated a policy based on mutual growth of large and small businesses rather than hostile regulations in the franchise business, whereas the current administration extended the regulation related to franchise business to the employment sector. Conclusions: The analysis of past two administrations' franchise policy, it can be suggested that franchisors and franchisees may complement each other in developing the Fair Transactions in Franchise Business Act and achieving balanced growth. Moreover, political support is needed for sound development of franchisors. Limitations and future research suggestions are presented at the end of this study.

An Analysis of the Impact of Digital Content Usage on Smart TV Usage (디지털 콘텐츠 이용이 스마트TV 이용에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • As digital content services, especially OTT(over-the-top) video services, diffuse rapidly, so do smartTVs. Based on the indirect network effect theory and the complementarity theory, this study explores the relationship between digital content services and smartTV. Using the Media panel dataset, this study analyzes how the usage of digital content service (OTT usage, OTT usage volume, the usage of various OTT service types, and online game/music/education/news service) affects smartTV usage. This study shows that OTT usage and its usage volume is positively associated with smartTV usage, and that the usage of various OTT service types is positively associated with smartTV usage compared with non-OTT users. As for online content services, the usage of online education service is positively associated with smartTV usage while the usage of online news service is associated negatively. These results support the indirect network effect theory and the complementarity theory.

  • In this paper, we simulated disaster broadcast service using terrestrial UHD additional data. We looked at nine functions(warning alarm, location-based information, multilingual, re-viewing the title of breaking news, evacuation knack video, CCTV, clip video, wake up, automatic channel switching) by referring to ATSC 3.0 standards. Analyzing the advantages and problems of the proposed disaster broadcast. Expert interviews were conducted after a demonstration and explanation of terrestrial UHD disaster broadcast. They said that the problems with the technology were difficulty in using, obstruction of viewing, content creation problems, and problems with advertisers. In addition to the lack of simulation-based research, this research has provided an insight into the technology by showing it in a visible way. This helped shape the advantages and problems of technology.
