Leaf blight symptoms and abnormal defoliation were found on Stachys riederi var. japonica, a medicinal plant, grown at Hongcheon, Gangwon province, Korea in 2007. A foliar nematode, Aphelenchoides fragariae was isolated from infected leaf tissues. The symptoms observed on host plant were leaf blotching, discoloration and browning of tissues, tan-colored interveinal necrotic lesions and large dead patches of necrotic tissues. This is the first report of A. fragariae occurring on S. riederi var. japonica.

In this study, we report the morphogenetic analysis and genome sequence of a new WCP30 phage of Weissella cibaria, isolated from a fermented food. Based on its morphology, as observed by transmission electron microscopy, WCP30 phage belongs to the family Siphoviridae. Genomic analysis of WCP30 phage showed that it had a 33,697-bp double-stranded DNA genome with 41.2% G+C content. Bioinformatics analysis of the genome revealed 35 open reading frames. A BLASTN search showed that WCP30 phage had low sequence similarity compared to other phages infecting lactic acid bacteria. This is the first report of the morphological features and complete genome sequence of WCP30 phage, which may be useful for controlling the fermentation of dairy foods.

Lisfranc injury is complex and difficult to treat. Making the correct diagnosis and achieving an anatomical reduction are important factors in regard to achieving a favorable outcome with this injury. We describe a new technique that we have found to be useful for stabilizing Lisfranc injury. This method is relatively fast and simple, and it provides non-rigid fixation. Also, it eliminates the need for implant removal. To date, we have achieved predictable results for stabilizing and treating this injury with the use of a $TightRope^{TM}$ Device, instead of traditional interfragmental screw fixation. In this report, we describe a case in which this method was used with satisfactory short-term results.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the possibility of treatment of locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer with Traditional Korean Medicine based allergen-removed Rhus verniciflua Stokes (ARVS) following chemoradiotherapy. Methods: A patient with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (stage IIIB) felt chest discomfort, fatigue, and anxiety after chemoradiotherapy. To prevent recurrence, he opted to receive Traditional Korean Medicine. Results: After treatment with ARVS, the size of the residual primary cancer and a metastatic lymph node decreased, without new cancerous regions. The patient has maintained good performance and has shown prolonged overall survival. Conclusions: This report suggests that ARVS may play a therapeutic role in the treatment of locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer after chemoradiotherapy. Further studies will be needed to determine the effect of ARVS on locally-advanced unresectable non-small cell lung cancer.

PET/CT is a new imaging technology that combines high-quality Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT). This imaging provides simultaneous anatomical and metabolic information. Therefore PET/CT is useful diagnostic modality for early detection of malignant tumor, accurate staging, decision on therapeutic plan, monitoring response to therapy and rapid detection of recurrence. We report oral and maxillofacial cancers diagnosed by using PET/CT and the usefulness of PET/CT in the evaluation of postoperative recurrence.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of using korean medical treatment on ulcer occurred in Anus and Vulva. Methods : We treated the patient with Taglisodog-eum(托裏消毒飮), acupuncture, and korean medical treatment using herb such as ointment and fumigation therapy. VAS score, Photographs were used to evaluate the effects of treatment. Results : After the total treatments, VAS score decreased from 7 to 1. In this case, we treated ulcer and checked regeneration of new tissue. Conclusions : The result suggests that Korean medical treatment including Taglisodog-eum(托裏消毒飮) can be effective in treatingulcer.

Maglev vehicle has two kinds of suspension system such as a secondary suspension with air-spring and a primary suspension as electromagnetic suspension which composed of electromagnet, magnet driver, controller and sensors. The interaction between each dynamic component of vehicle and track effects the stability and running performance. To achieve the specified performance of vehicle, many various approaches of research were tried, then as the result of these efforts, the first commercial operating with Maglev will start soon. The bogie for revenue service from 2012 has some significant modifications compared to the previous one, and to verify the changes the half prototype vehicle was manufactured and took the running performance test. In this report, we will introduce the stage of manufacturing and report results of dynamic performance tests to verify new concept of bogie mechanism.

This report was prepared to give informations on a proper way to develop new consumables for the steels with improved weldability. Traditionally, hydrogen control has been pursued mainly for suppressing the HICC in HAZ but it also has contributed to HICC in weld metal. Facing the limitations in reducing the hydrogen content, it is now important to consider the microstructural control approach in order to improve the HICC resistance of weld metal . It has been shown that changes in alloy design, and hence composition and microstructure, was quite effective in producing high strength weld metal with improved resistance to cold cracking. Besides the economic test methods for evaluating susceptibility of multipass weld metal is essential to promote the development of welding consumables.

In recent years, information technological revolution of using Internet in the Stock Market has shown reconsideration of Securities and Exchange Law. Since the 1998 Taipei Conference, ILA have studied upon it and presented 6th Interim Report during the 2000 London Conference. This paper summarizes a part of the 6th Interim Report. The Internet has created a medium to which traditional principles of jurisdiction may not have full relevance. To understand the jurisdictional issues posed by this new medium, we should first review the traditional principles of jurisdiction under international, U. S. law and Other Countries law. In previous reports, the general principles of jurisdiction in international law have been described. These principles are, however, difficult to apply in the context of Internet and other forms of computerized securities trading. Regulators all over the world are trying to address and solve jurisdictional issues raised by the Internet. The traditional rules of jurisdiction in international law, grounded as they are on a geography-based approach, may be in the process of being undermined by the Internet and other global networks allowing for remote access to information and to markets.

In this technical status report, domestic solar makers and dealers for thermal collectors and hot water heaters are surveyed. The characteristics and specifications of their items are also classified and discussed. Collectors and hot water heaters are the key part of solar thermal systems which have been developed under the national policy for the development and utilization of new and renewable energy resources. This report provides the current domestic status of solar collectors which may be a good reference for the solar industry and related organizations.
