A novel spiro-type host material, 5-[4-(1-naphthyl)phenyl]-spiro[fluorene-7,9'-benzofluorene] (BH-1PN) and three new dopants, namely, 5-[diphenylamino)phenyl]-spiro[fluorene-7,9'-benzofluorene] (BH-1TPA), 5-[4-(N-phenyl (m-tolyl)amino]-spiro[fluorene-7,9'-benzofluorene] (BH-1MDPA) and 5-[(N-phenyl)-2-naphthyl]amino-spiro[fluorene- 7,9'-benzofluorene] (BH-1NPA) were designed and successfully prepared using the Suzuki or amination reactions. The electroluminescence characteristics of BH-1PN as a blue host material doped with each of the blue dopants were evaluated. The structure of the device is ITO/DNTPD/NPB/BH-1PN:5% dopant/Alq3/Al-LiF. The device obtained from BH-1PN doped with diphenyl-[4-(2-[1,1;4,1]terphenyl-4-yl-vinyl)phenyl]-amine (BD-1) showed good color purity, efficiency, luminance, and current-density characteristics.
New spiro[fluorene-7,9′-benzofluorene]-based blue host material, 5-phenyl-spiro[fluorene-7,9′-benzofluorene] (BH-1P), was successfully prepared by reacting 5-bromo-spiro[fluorene-7,9′-benzofluorene] (1) with phenyl boronic acid through the Suzuki reaction. 5-(N,N-Diphenyl)amino-spiro[fluorene-7,9′-benzofluorene] (BH-1DPA) and diphenyl-[4-(2-[1,1;4,1]terphenyl-4-yl-vinyl)-phenyl]amine (BD-1) were used as dopant materials. 2,5-Bis-(2',2"- bipyridin-6-yl)-1,1-diphenyl-3,4-diphenylsilacyclopentadiene (ET4) and Alq3 were used as electron transfer materials. Their UV absorption, photoluminescence and thermal properties were examined. The blue OLEDs with the configuration of ITO/DNTPD/$\alpha$-NPD/BH-1P:5% dopant/$Alq_3$ or ET4/LiF-Al prepared from the BH-1P host and BH-1DPA and BD-1 dopants showed a blue EL spectrum at 452 nm at 10 V and a luminance of 923.9 cd/$m^2$ with an efficiency of 1.27 lm/W at a current density of 72.57 mA/$cm^2$.
Phlebopus spongiosus is a well-known edible ectomycorrhizal mushroom indigenous to southern Vietnam. The mushroom specimens collected from northern Thailand in this study were identified as P. spongiosus. This identification was based on morphological characteristics and the multi-gene phylogenetic analyses. Pure cultures were isolated and the relevant suitable mycelial growth conditions were investigated. The results indicated that the fungal mycelia grew well on L-modified Melin-Norkans, and Murashige and Skoog agar all of which were adjusted to a pH of 5.0 at 30 ℃. Sclerotia-like structures were observed on cultures. The ability of this mushroom to produce fruiting bodies in the absence of a host plant was determined by employing a bag cultivation method. Fungal mycelia completely covered the cultivation substrate after 90-95 days following inoculation of mushroom spawn. Under the mushroom house conditions, the highest amount of primordial formation was observed after 10-15 days at a casing with soil:vermiculite (1:1, v/v). The primordia developed into a mature stage within one week. Moreover, identification of the cultivated fruiting bodies was confirmed by both morphological and molecular methods. This is the first record of P. spongiosus found in Thailand and its ability to form fruiting bodies without a host plant.

A Mobile computing environment is a new paradigm which provides users with the access to information irrespective of users' location. A transaction scheduling method for the mobile computing environment must be designed so that database consistency is maintained with considering the limited performance of mobile hosts and the narrow bandwidth of a wireless network. The scheduling method using a lock has some problems: the high message overhead between a server and a mobile host for maintaining a lock and the high abort ratio of the mobile transactions owing to violating the serializability when a mobile host uses a cache. So, in this paper, we propose an efficient transaction management method using timestamp to resolve these problems. The proposed method is used in the environment under which a mobile host uses a cache having two versions for each cached data item and a server maintains several versions for each data item. So, even though a mobile transaction is executed during several broadcasting interval, can be committed. As a result, the proposed method can improve the commit ratio of the mobile transactions by maintaining multiversion for each data item and does not require the additional message exchange to schedule transactions by using timestamp.
Roots of Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris var. chinensis) seedlings infected with Plasmodiophora brassicae were examined by light and electron microscopy to reveal histopathological changes related to pathogenesis in the susceptible host. The pathogen colonized the cortex and partly the stele as well, invading up to the xylem. Gall tissues could be differentiated from the initially infected tissues, involving less compact organization and new vascular development. The infected cells were much hypertrophied, and contained one to several plasmodia. Except cellular hypertrophy, no pathological ultrastructural modification was noted in the infected calls. Infected cytoplasm became dense with ground cytoplasm, inconspicuous central vacuole, and increased cellular organelles such as mitochondria and dictyosomes. There were two types of nuclear states of plasmodium, uninucleate and multinucleate. Both plasmodia were structurally similar, filled with lipid droplets, bounded with envelope, and containing mitochondria, endo-plasmic reticulum, and sometimes small vacuoles. Plasmodial fragmentation, which may be regarded as a way to discharge plasmodial materials into host cytoplasm, commonly occurred, forming plasmodial fragments by outgrowth of plasmodial cytoplasm and regional compartmentalization. Plasmodial fragments were degenerated sometimes followed by forming chains of spherical vesicles especially in the uninucleate plasmodial state. These ultrastructural features indicate the biotrophic nature of the pathogen associated with its pathogenesis in the susceptible host.
This work employed density functional theory to investigate the structural and ferroelectric properties of the Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) phase of lead titanate, $Pb_2TiO_4$, as well as its phase transitions with epitaxial strain. A wealth of novel structural instabilities, which are absent in the host $PbTiO_3$ material, were identified in the RP phase through phonon soft-mode analysis. Our calculations showed that the ground state of $Pb_2TiO_4$ is antiferroelectric, distinct from the dominant ferroelectric phase in the corresponding host material. In addition, applied epitaxial strain was found to play a key role in the interactions among the instabilities. The induction of a sequence of antiferroelectric and antiferrodistortive (AFD) phase transitions by epitaxial strain was demonstrated, in which the ferroic instability and AFD distortion were cooperative rather than competitive, as is the case in the host $PbTiO_3$. The RP phase in conjunction with strain engineering thus represents a new approach to creating ferroic orders and modifying the interplay among structural instabilities in the same constituent materials, enabling us to tailor the functionality of perovskite oxides for novel device applications.

The Erythropeltidales are a common group of small, mostly epiphytic, marine red algae. However, they are little known in Korea. Many of the described species of Erythropeltidales differ subtly in morphology, and often the morphological differences are due to the substrate or environmental changes. Integration of molecular data with standardized culture conditions has been recommended to account for these algae. A Madagascaria species was first collected from the western coast of Korea and was identified as Madagascaria erythrocladioides based on the morphological and molecular characteristics. Morphological characteristics conformed well with its original description, and the phylogenetic analysis based on rbcL sequence showed Korean M. erythrocladioides nests in the same clade with the original species described in Japan with a genetic distance of 0.0-0.1%. This species was isolated from a red alga, Pterocladiella capillacea, in laboratory culture. The thallus ontogeny and host preference were examined by a co-culture with 13 different species of algae. Results showed a relatively broad host preference in mono-spore attachment and epiphyte development of Madagascaria erythrocladioides. Mono-spores of M. erythrocladioides attached to most of the red algal hosts' surfaces but no crustose thalli developed on some of the algal hosts even after one month of co-culture.
5G goes beyond people to serve indoor and outdoor companies and industries, as well as campuses such as halls, industrial complexes, educational institutions, stadiums, dense urban areas, rural areas, and government institutions. Therefore, a new approach to small cells is needed. Accordingly, 3GPP and Small Cell Forum are researching 5G small cell architecture; 3GPP, Small Cell Forum, and 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation are also researching private networks tailored to meet the specific requirements of various companies and local governments. In particular, in the UK, a small cell-based technology is required for realizing the Joint Operator Technical Specifications-Neutral Host In-Building specification to cost-effectively secure indoor coverage. Further, the research on the SON(Self-Organizing Network) technology for small cells in 5G, where commercialization has begun, is required. The 5G-based small cell structure, private network, and Neutral Host In-Building and SON reviewed in this study are at the initial research stages; therefore, additional research is needed to secure the competitiveness of the small cell technology in 5G and Beyond 5G.
The development in the mobile computing systems have arisen new and previously unforeseen problems, such as problems in information management of mobile host, disconnection of mobile host and low bandwidths of wireless communications. Especially, location information management strategy of mobile host results in an increased overhead in mobile computing systems. Due to the mobility of the mobiles host, the changes in the mobile host's address depends on the mobile host's location, and is maintained by mapping physical address on virtual address, Since previously suggested several strategies for mapping method between physical address and virtual address did not tackle the increase of mobile host and distribution of location information, it was not able to support the scalability in mobile computing systems. Thus, to distribute the location inrormation, we propose an advanced n-depth LiST (Location information Search Tree) and the parallel location search and update strategy based on the advanced n-depth LiST. The advanced n-depth LiST is logically a hierarchical structure that clusters the location information server by ring structure and reduces the location information search and update cost by parallel seatch and updated method. The experiment shows that even though the distance of two MHs that communicate with each other is large, due to the strnctural distribution of location information, advanced n-depth LiST results in good performance. Moreover, despite the reduction in the location information search cost, there was no increase in the location information update cost.
Losses, literature and occurence of ginseng diseases in Korea were reviewed briefly. Some problems on etiology, epidemiology and control measures of root rot caused by Cylindroaroon panacis, anthracnose, and damping-off have been discussed. Ginseng was added as a new host of $Sclerotium\;rolfsii\;S_{ACC}$.
