5G Cyber Physical System-based Smart City Service Policy (5G CPS 기반 스마트시티 서비스 정책)

  • This study proposes a smart city service revitalization policy based on communication facility infrastructure in 5G CPS - the core of the 4th industrial revolution, R&D, and related legislations. The 5G CPS is a converged form of ICT technologies, communications facilities, and physical systems. In this study, we propose methods of creating new services for the smart city domain based on communication facilities and the cloud platform in 5G CPS - first, by improving the communication methods classification system based on the facility scale; second, by establishing the national telecommunication facility infrastructure and making long-term investment; third, by reorganizing the Smart City Act aimed at activating new services; and lastly, by expanding the national data analytics R&D and policy support.

A Study on Agile Transformation in the New Digital Age

  • In the face of recent digital and digital transformation, companies and industries are trying to be agile to adapt and respond to change. Agile paradigm is spreading beyond the boundaries of existing applications such as IT-related projects and software development. In this regard, this study, we analyzed the diffusion of agile paradigm by text mining abstracts of research papers from 2001 to 2019. In addition, we discussed agile transformation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Through this study, we confirmed that we are studying agile transformation in various fields such as business environment, corporate organizational culture, manufacturing industry, and supply chain. The results of this study will contribute to understanding the meaning and role of agile as a basic paradigm for digital transformation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

  • In a conventional system, hydraulic unit pumps out pressurized oil when the power use is not even necessary. As a result, it causes much power loss. This study is on the proposal of new hydraulic unit which controls the revolution of the pump in order to produce proper power needed and to have good response characteristic. In addition, the existing control methods such as PID control method, fuzzy control method, and adaptive control method are applied to the proposed hydraulic unit. Then the best control method is selected and the controller is developed to realize minimum power loss.

  • A diesel Engine rotates vibratively because of alternative explosion strokes. Traditional measurement of a diesel engine speed is carried out by measuring output voltage of FV convertor from input signals of MPU(magnetic pickup unit) or of DC tachometer. Because these measurement include also vibrative rotation of a diesel engine, an analog filter is often used to eliminate high frequency noises due to periodic explosion stroke. But by this method these high frequency noises do not eliminated effectively because noise frequencies are changed according to diesel engine speed. In this paper, author proposes a new measurement method of a diesel engine revolution which read digital signal directly from MPU and prove the utility of proposed method through the real experiment.

  • This study attempts to show the reasons why the academic field, which has been called 'Library and Information Science', should change its paradigm for both research and practice. To this end, this study investigates the essence of the current academic crisis, which is seriously threatening the survival of the LIS as an independent academic field in South Korea. In details, this study discusses the identity problem of the LIS, the poverty in scholarship, the low self-esteem of the profession, etc. Also investigated are the reasons why the profession, which includes both scholars and practitioners, is facing with such a crisis. This study emphasizes that both researchers and practitioners in the LIS field should keep their eyes on the ongojng information revolution, and that in order to thrive as well as to survive from the midst of such an academic crisis they should notice and understand the essence of the revolution. The conclusion of this study includes the philosophies and strategies for survival, which the profession should keep in mind and follow in a hurry.

  • We have heard about several keywords of the fourth industrial revolution such as automation, artificial intelligence and connectivity. And electronic publishing systems and ebooks will enable us to experience a new industrial revolution without discrimination. On that level, it is necessary to study a method of automatic accessibility tool for electronic publishing. There are some studies on accessibility standard specifications, accessibility guidelines, and accessibility certificate criteria. but there is little research about automatic inspection tools in electronic publishing area. This paper proposed a library for accessibility inspector of EPUB and its components based on IDPF EPUB accessiblity guidelines and TTA accessibility certificate criteria for reading disabled people. After implementing the library that can be connected to SIGIL, which is the most widely used in Korea, we verified its functionality and its coverage with Korean commercial EPUB files.

  • Recently, a growing number of accidents have taken place at construction sites, causing serious casualties. To prevent accidents or minimize damage, it is necessary to develop the safety precautions education is essential. However, the effects of safety education do not have as much effect as the importance of safety education. so As a new direction, we are looking forward to effective education by simulating realistic environments using VR. The safety training method used to experience and learn dynamic situations in a limited room wearing HMD is combined with VR. It will be the start of the construction industry going forward.

  • With increased interest in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, there is also a growing interest in the innovation of college education. In this regard, this study aims to develop a learning model for building construction to nurture architectural engineers needed in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To this end, it analyzed the previous studies on the recent innovations in engineering education. Among the educational innovation methods presented in the previous research, a new learning model was derived by using the most suitable method for the building construction eduction. The derived learning model is a building construction learning model applying team-based learning and flipped learning. The learning model proposed in this study was developed as a learning method to nurture engineers needed in the future. Therefore, it is expected that this model can be utilized in the eduction of architectural engineering at universities in Korea.

  • In the advent of the fourth industrial revolution, which was to become an innovative society, we now face the forefront of a technological revolution, and in response to these changes, the world is actively developing the maker movement to nurture new innovations. Accordingly, it is necessary to change the functions of the library in order to play a leading role in a changing life environment. In addition, it is necessary to present certain directions in policies in order to help expand the library's capabilities to utilize a cultural technology. In this study, we have conducted a survey on public library librarians' perceptions towards makerspaces, and based on this, we have proposed directions and support policies for public library's makerspaces and a dissemination structure of makerspaces for the public library.

  • After the Fourth Industrial Revolution, there has been a software revolution around the world in which software is combined with industry and society to create new value. In order to prepare this, developed countries provide software education that includes basic principles of computer science and coding instead of computer application education. This paper proposes a block program using a drone. Throughout this research, various education for creativity thinking and problem solving ability is possible in connection with the creativity and convergence education.
