Changes in the Texture and Salt Content of Chinese Cabbage Using Different Salting Methods (절임 방법에 따른 배추 조직 및 염도 변화)

  • This study analyzed changes in the texture and salt content of Chinese cabbage after salting using different methods to determine the effects of low salt brining. To verify the possibility of brining under low salt concentration, Chinese cabbage was salted with 1%, 2%, 6%, and 10% salt solutions by pressing, pressure reduction, or steaming. After salting, the firmness (g, determined using the puncture test) of the Chinese cabbage changed according to the brining methods used, however, an increasing trend in rigidity was observed as the salinity increased. Because the power applied during pressing or pressure reduction treatments is higher, the firmness of and penetration time on the surface of the brined Chinese cabbages after these treatments increased more in the 6% salt solution cabbage. Additionally, the Chinese cabbages treated with steam showed significantly higher firmness and penetration time than those treated by pressing and pressure reduction. As a result of pressing the 6% salt concentrated cabbage with 1.35 $kg{\cdot}f/cm^2$, a pressure reduction from 250 mmHg, and steaming at 100$^{\circ}C$ for 1 min, the cabbage had roughly 2% of the salt concentration, ultimately. These physical treatments of pressing, pressure reduction, and steaming could be used as new methods for preparing salted Chinese cabbage with low salt concentrations for general use.

  • Health industry, a knowledge based high value-added industry, is being considered as a strategic area for the 21C and many advanced countries are making every endeavors for the promotion of health industry along with information technology, new materials, and mechatronics. Korean health industry, however, has been excluded from the governmental supports as well as bound by strict regulation so far, and there is a significant gap in technology compared with advanced countries. In 21C, technology is the main factor of national competitiveness and that is why the role of R&D institutes are so important in the high level of competition to cope with the technology protection policies of advanced countries. In this article, with Directory of Korean R&D Institutes published by Korea Industry Technology Association, I reviewed the trends of R&D institute of health industry. Main findings of the research can be summarized as follows. The portion of health industry R&D institute is 3.6% of total R&D institute but the amount of R&D investment is over than 5% This means health industry are knowledge based and R&D intensified industry, meanwhile the variations of same industry R&D institutes of health industry is huge in R&D investments and other activities. Regional distributions of health industry institutes show some kind of different patterns in each industry areas. Medical devices and Medical informatics's preference of metropolitan region are distinguished with other industry areas. Many of the institutes are located in same site of it's company rather than operating separate building for R&D specific uses. It is better for transforming ideas to products and close cooperation of research body with product lines, but it is a handicap for networking and communicating with other research institutions too. It takes 18.4yrs for bearing R&D institute on the average. For a long times 'copy products' or 'me too products' policies were easy way to maintain business entities. But recently, it is recognized that research activities are essential component of sustaining it's own business firms. This means technology itself is leading power of corporation itself in the high level of competition.

New Medical Device Regulations (MDR) in Europe (유럽의 새로운 의료기기 규제제도 MDR)

  • MDR, a new European medical device regulation newly enacted in 2017, requires that medical device products that have received CE conformity certification through MDD be re-certified by May 2024 in line with the new CE MDR regulation. The new MDR requires more stringent medical device clinical evaluation and clinical investigation than the previous MDD required, and also require the submission of documented post-marketing surveillance data. Korean medical device makers also need to meet the new MDR requirements and obtain conformity certification, but the industry is still confused because they do not understand the new regulations thoroughly. In this study, medical device regulations in Korea, the United States, and Europe are compared, and the European MDR is further compared with the previous European Medical Device Directive MDD to help understand the requirements of the new European Medical Device Act.

A Case Study on the Failure of New Product Development on Consumer Acceptance of Innovative Products (소비자의 혁신제품수용에 대한 신제품개발 실패 사례 연구)

  • This study analyzed the failure cases of new products for relative benefits among various factors related to the characteristics of innovation, which is an important factor in the consumer persuasion process among Rogers (1995)'s innovation diffusion theory. This is because relative profits are the most influential factor in consumers' intention to adopt among the characteristics of various innovative products (Holak and Lenmann, 1990). As a result of analyzing the failure cases of new products of six companies, these products lacked relative profits for existing products in common. Relative profits are factors that are measured in the economic sense or are measured by social advantages, convenience, and satisfaction, and are the most important factors compared to other factors such as suitability, complexity, observability, and applicability. In the end, it was found that relative profits compared to existing products are an important success factor in persuading consumers of new products.

  • Global expansion of regulation for carbon emission has brought new industrial regulations and trade barriers while the global economy is promoting economic stimulus through a variety of green investments such as renewable energy development, energy efficiency increase, and environmental improvement simultaneously. Korean government is trying to seek a new opportunity to grow through green investment in this change of business environment and businesses are facing the transition to low-carbon and eco-friendly structure for their survival. It is promoting not only industry structure changes and conversion but also demanding changes of workforce composition and requirement skills. In response to convergence of green economy, manpower development for future skills needs is provided the main impetus for response as well as promotion green growth. This study will analyze human resource development plan due to future skills needs emphasizing on automative industry. Also the study will be researched on the problems of present curriculum of undergraduate and look for improvements tasks. Upon the result, promotion plans for human resource development in other sectors of green car in response to future skills needs in green growth can be found.

  • This study was conducted to contribute to the expansion of activity areas of nurses in the fiel of health promotion services whose importance are increasing day by day. To achieve such goals the writer analized the social values of health promotion services through the method of literature reveiw and held workshops five times with the research team to develop a new program model applicable in health centers and industry. As a conclusion, we recommended the following roles of nurses to be reevaluted an reinforced: 1. Roles as advertizers of the importance of keeping positive health, its social diffussion, an making social environments supporting it. 2. Roles of intervention to change life-styles into positive, active, and client-centered ones 3. Roles of communicators, planners, and managers for the contribution to the maximization of team efficiency with a view to reducing health risk and preventing health threat.

Research on China's Internet Financial Risk Supervision and Countermeasures (중국 인터넷 금융 리스크 관리 및 대책 연구)

  • In recent years, China's Internet finance industry is hot. There is no doubt that Internet finance has been fully integrated into China, forming a new form of financing, and rapidly becoming a new channel for investment and financing in China, shouldering the responsibility of inclusive financing and building China's real economy. However, with investment, there are risks. Based on the panel data of China's Internet financial platform, this paper uses the random effect model to study the influencing factors of Internet financial risks, and draws three conclusions: (1) The user funds and platform funds of the financial platform will be managed separately by the bank, which can effectively reduce the risk of financial transactions on the Internet; (2) The risk of Internet financial transactions can be effectively reduced by avoiding the concentration of platform funds in the hands of a few borrowers through regulatory policies; (3) The liquidity control of funds effectively reduces the risk of Internet financial transactions. Based on the conclusions, we propose optimization strategies for regulatory policies to achieve the healthy and sustainable development of Internet finance.

A Study on the Application of Risk Weighting Factors in Risk Assessment Through Manufacturing Accident Analysis (제조업 사고분석을 통한 위험성평가 시 위험 가중요인 적용에 관한 연구)

  • In order to prevent industrial accidents, this study presented a methodology to ensure that risk aggravating factors are reflected in risk assessments at manufacturing sites and demonstrated it by applying it to actual manufacturing sites. As a result of a statistical analysis of all 242,906 accidents that occurred in the manufacturing industry over the past 10 years, new workers less than 6 months old, foreign workers, older workers over 55 years old, and jobs where hands and arms are exposed to risk areas, Non-routine work performed from 9 o'clock to 12 o'clock showed a significantly high accident rate. In addition, a weighted value was applied to estimate the possibility of an accident at the risk determination stage through focus group interviews. Through the results of this study, risk weighting factors can be quantitatively reflected in risk assessment, which is meaningful in preventing accidents by evaluating the size of the identified risk closer.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the fashion industry in Korea with materials that could enhance its international competitiveness by suggesting marketing strategies for fast fashion brands after taking product, price, place, and promotion into consideration. The product strategy should focus on developing products that accurately reflect the general market trend and consumer demand, selecting optimal materials, and pursuing internal production. This, coupled with strategic cooperation with designers, will ensure reliable quality and enhance the brand image. The pricing strategy should place greater emphasis on reducing production costs. Diverse task outsourcing and design competition, for instance, can lower the cost of design development. The place strategy should be set according to the operation of a systematic and efficient distribution system based on SPA, an automatic delivery system, sales or return system, speed control system, and a value chain that consists of horizontal business alliances. The promotion strategy should be run under the central control of the headquarters using various unique VMDs. Furthermore, online marketing campaigns, spectacular fashion shows, design competitions, catalogue marketing campaigns, and other new sales promotion schemes could all be introduced.
