  • This study has developed a water balance model for the catchment of Byungchun river using a BROOK90 4.4e physical deterministic water balance model with the long-term meterological data and stream run off data obtained from the basin of Byungchun river in Korea. It is intended that the validation model with calibrated model fitting parameter can build a long-term water balance plan for a period when meterological data are available but stream runoff data are not. Results of this study have satisfied the first expectation as an experiment for water balance modeling since measured stream runoff data have turned out to be very similar to simulated stream runoff data. Through the confirmation of model fitting parameters and validated simulation, water balance for the period of 1998 to 2006 has been restored. Unless the conditions of geomophology, vegetation, soil and land use change, meterological data alone can produce various hydrometeorological data related to stream runoff amount, soil water amount, and evapotranspiration. This study opens up a new horizon in restoring water balance in the past as well planning water balance in the present. The obtained results from this study are expected to be used in predicting future water balance in the wake of the changes in climate and vegetation in Korea.

  • Celebrities form a dominant culture of one era and are cultivating influence to lead new fashion. Domestic women celebrities attending Seoul Fashion Week build their image as a fashion leader by exposing their own fashion aesthetics to the public. This promotes PR and sales of the brand of fashion designers in the collection. This study considers the fashion trends of women celebrities by analyzing the fashion style of women celebrities in Seoul Collection over the recent five years. The results of this study on contents analysis are as follows. First, straight silhouettes, achromatic colors, and an absence of a pattern or decoration comprised a high proportion. Celebrities preferred a modern and minimal style. Second, they preferred a feminine style that shows traditional feminine beauty through slim and princess silhouettes, one-piece dress or skirts, soft materials, and decorations with ruffles. In addition, as a matching jacket on one-piece dresses also appeared, it showed that celebrities attempted to change the chic feminine style with masculine beauty. Third, boxy silhouettes, multi-color mixed with colorful colors, graphic or lettering patterns, glittering materials and lots of details comprised a high proportion. This means celebrities pursue a maximal style that reveals their strong presence as fashion leaders.

  • In the modern society, the number of people in disaster vulnerable groups is rapidly increasing such as the elderly, the disabled, foreigners, and children. The common characteristics of the groups vulnerable to disasters are that they live in residence types that are exposed to disasters because they are impoverished and if they are exposed to disasters, recovery is a slow process. The purpose of this study is to identify the new risk issues by performing risk issue analysis on the targets of disaster vulnerable group and provide base data for the development of the policies. For the research method, this study centered on the cases of children and pregnant women out of the disaster vulnerable groups and focused on the issue data of social media throughout the past 10 years ('10~'19) and performed social network analysis. As a result, first, the development of the issue showed relevance in the occurrence of specific cases. Second, the awareness about the types, targets, and management method of crisis management was analyzed. Third, an analysis was performed on the sentiment words that considered the solution measures of risk issues or the characteristics of the targets and it was analyzed that there were word that triggered negative emotions. Therefore, it is anticipated for the base data to be used for the government and also for the local government to build an effective crisis management system of the rapidly changing disaster environment on the basis of the sentiment analysis performed on the people of the nation as well as public awareness.

  • In the Western civilization, the concept of culture has traditionally the meaning of education or forming the moral humanity. However, this meaning of culture has recently changed since the advent of cultural relativism which lays stress on the cultural diversity. The current meaning of culture lies in the ways of life, whatever they are. It indicates that culture has nothing to do with universal human nature and morality, as the new concept of culture is only based on the historical and contingent life-situations of people in the each special area. Against this current view of culture, this paper contends that culture and humanity(human nature) are closely connected with each other and that every culture is rooted in the universal human nature. So culture could have a great influence on humanity and forming of moral community. This thesis might be justified by Husserl's view on the philosophical culture of the ancient Greece. According to Husserl, the philosophy in the ancient Greece intended to realize the idea of true humanity and to build the moral community. Husserl's interpretation of the philosophical culture is based on his belief that philosophy as an ideal culture transcends the cultural diversity and historical contingency and strives for a universal human community, in which all mankind are harmonized and live well. The philosophical culture would -so Husserl- result in the moral community. Against this conception of the moral cultural community, could man argue that the idea of the moral community be an ideal dream which could not be realized considering the irrational and immoral character of community. However, this argument should be refuted, because it has overlooked the moral and open-minded character of culture with the feeling of solidarity.

  • Recently, projects are being actively promoted to develop a new residential district centered around the metropolitan area, or to redevelop the residential area that was established long ago as unplanned land development. In this residential area, the owner can directly construct the building, and the way the building owner builds the residential house is called the direct construction of the owner. If the owner has the construction management (CM) capability while conducting direct management of the owner, the direct construction can be carried out by the CM method. This type of construction is called Owner-CM delivery method. However, it is very rare for small-scale construction in Korea to be implemented by the Owner-CM method. This may be due to the lack of knowledge and experience about the CM of the owner. In this study, we investigated the actual cases of the scheduling for the residential houses of similar size which were built at the same time in the residential housing complex developed near the metropolitan area. The purpose of this study is to derive the success factors of the scheduling in the small-scale construction from the cases carried out by the Owner-CM method. These success factors of the scheduling can be used as meaningful reference for the owners who want to build their own house in the future.

  • The wind energy produced at night is being discarded because of the excess power generated at night compared to daytime. To solve this problem, In this study, we analyzed the evaluation contents for evaluation of domestic and overseas water electrolysis systems and drew contents for safety performance contents test of the water electrolysis system based on the evaluation contents. The test contents produced the efficiency measurement test, the hydrogen generated pressure test, and the hydrogen purity test. And the safety performance evaluation of the alkaline water electrolysis system of $5Nm^3/hr$ was performed based on the results. As a result, the hydrogen generation was calculated as $5.10Nm^3/hr$ and the stack efficiency was $4.97kWh/Nm^3$. The purity of the hydrogen generated was 99.993% and it was confirmed that it produced high purity hydrogen. I think will help us assess and build safety performance of water electrolysis systems in the future.

  • This study was designed to investigate the physiological response of humans to alcohol during underwater activity and to complete related risk analysis. After comparing human responses to alcohol during underwater activity, we analyzed physiological changes and risk level using a new risk analysis method developed in this study, 'Risk Assessment and Analysis (RAA)'. RAA is a modified method based on an internal control frame work. It has 3 steps, the first of which is to analyze risk correlation. The second step is to quantify risk and build a risk database. The last step is to analyze the diagramed risk map. Using RAA, the risk levels of alcohol use underwater were calculated and diagramed. The diagramed risk map was then used to analyze the difference between risk levels underwater before and after alcohol use. As a result, it was found that risk level underwater increased after alcohol use. This study shows alcohol use increases the ratio of high risk groups during underwater activity. It also indicates that risk levels can be quantified according to the likelihood and impairment scale, which can potentially help in identifying high risk groups for intensive management underwater.

  • Where is a better place to live? In the coming era, this should be more than simply a livable place. It should be an adaptable place that has a flexible system adaptable to any new situation in terms of diversity. Customization and real-time operation are needed in order to realize this technologically. We expect a smart city to have a flexible system that applies technologies of self-monitoring and self-response, thereby being a promising city model towards being a better place to live. Energy demand and supply is a crucial issue concerning our expectations for the flexible system of a smart city because it is indispensable to comfortable living, especially city living. Although it may seem that energy diversification, such as the energy mix of a country, is a matter of overriding concern, the central point is the scale of place to build grids for realizing sustainable urban energy systems. A traditional hard energy path supported by huge centralized energy systems based on fossil and nuclear fuels on a national scale has already faced difficult problems, particularly in terms of energy flexibility/resilience. On the other hand, an alternative soft energy path consisting of small diversified energy systems based on renewable energy sources on a local scale has limitations regarding stability, variability, and supply potential despite the relatively light economic/technological burden that must be assumed to realize it. As another alternative, we can adopt a holonic path incorporating an alternative soft energy path with a traditional hard energy path complimentarily based on load management. This has a high affinity with the flexible system of a smart city. At a system level, the purpose of all of the paths mentioned above is not energy itself but the service it provides. If the expected energy service is fixed, the conclusive factor in choosing a more appropriate system is accessibility to the energy service. Accessibility refers to reliability and affordability; the former encompasses the level of energy self-sufficiency, and the latter encompasses the extent of energy saving. From this point of view, it seems that the small diversified energy systems of a soft energy path have a clear advantage over the huge centralized energy systems of a hard energy path. However, some insuperable limitations still remain, so it is reasonable to consider both energy systems continuing to coexist in a multiplexing energy system employing a holonic path to create and maintain reliable and affordable access to energy services that cover households'/enterprises' basic energy needs. If this is embodied in a smart city concept, this is nothing else but smart energy inclusion. In Japan, following the Fukushima nuclear accident in 2011, a trend towards small diversified energy systems of a soft energy path intensified in order to realize a nuclear-free society. As a result, the Government of Japan proclaimed in its Fifth Strategic Energy Plan that renewable energy must be the main source of power in Japan by 2050. Accordingly, Sony vowed that all the energy it uses would come from renewable sources by 2040. In this situation, it is expected that smart energy inclusion will be achieved by the Japanese version of a smart grid based on the concept of a minimum cost scheme and demand response.

  • Geophysical survey of Korea was introduced in Nara National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage in 1995. At that time, it has been activated geophysical survey of architecture and civil engineering in Korea. But there was no exploration experts to be combined the archaeology. For this reason, National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage has introduced the physical exploration. Through the expert exchanges South Korea and Japan carried out joint exploration. And it has increased the reliability of the exploration method and exploration results. It is GPR the most method commonly in geophysical exploration. There are many usability before excavation because of good resolution. However, the shallow GPR penetration depth has limitations in large mounds. We were able to take advantage of the resistivity analysis program to study the underground structure to deep through the experts exchange. We was able to get a good result that overcomes the limitations of GPR exploration in a number of burial mounds including Naju bokamri by the resistivity analysis program. In particular, we confirmed the location of the burial main body by compares the results of exploration and excavation results. In the future we will perform a convergence research of exploration and archaeology through a variety of joint research. In addition we will have to build a new network of archaeological science.

  • Due to the coronavirus pandemic and diplomatic disputes, governments are actively developing a policy to revitalize·reshore manufacturing and to diversify international cooperations. In order to develop such a policy, it is very important to compare and analyze domestic·international geospatial information. Over the decade, the US·EC governments have conducted a series of national researches to build data-based tools that can monitor·analyze regional geospatial information driven by government R&D investments. In the case of the EC system, it can compare geospatial information in domestic and international(including Korea) regions. Compared to US·EC cases, Korean examples of national researches with available data analplatform need future improvements. Current study is investigating an automated analysis methodologies using "National Institute of Science and Technology Information (NTIS)" DB, which was national security data until recently. Research on data-mining regional geospatial information can contribute to support policy fields that need to discover new issues in response to unexpected social problems such as recently faced corona and trade disputes.
