It is important to classily fault types, discriminate fault section and calculate the fault location by any detecting technique for combined transmission lines. This paper proposes the technique to classily the fault types and fault section using neuro-fuzzy systems. Neuro-fuzzy systems are composed of three parts to perform different works. First, neuro-fuzzy system for fault type classification is performed with approximation coefficient of currents obtained by wavelet transform. The second neuro-fuzzy system discriminates the fault section between overhead and underground with detail coefficients of voltage and current. The last neuro-fuzzy system calculates the fault location with impedance in this paper, neuro-furry system shows the excellent results for classification of fault types and discrimination of fault section.

A damage detection algorithm based on neuro fuzzy hybrid system is presented in this study for location and severity predictions of cracks in beam-like structures. A combination of eigenfrequencies and rotation deviation curves are utilized as input to the soft computing technique. Both single and multiple damage cases are considered. Theoretical expressions leading to modal properties of damaged beam elements are provided. The beam formulation is based on Euler-Bernoulli theory. The cracked section of beam is simulated employing discrete spring model whose compliance is computed from stress intensity factors of fracture mechanics. A hybrid neuro fuzzy technique is utilized to solve the inverse problem of crack identification. Two different neuro fuzzy systems including grid partitioning (GP) and subtractive clustering (SC) are investigated for the highlighted problem. Several error metrics are utilized for evaluating the accuracy of the hybrid algorithms. The study is the first in terms of 1) using the two models of neuro fuzzy systems in crack detection and 2) considering multiple damages in beam elements employing the fused neuro fuzzy procedures. At the end of the study, the developed hybrid models are tested by utilizing the noise-contaminated data. Considering the robustness of the models, they can be employed as damage identification algorithms in health monitoring of beam-like structures.
This paper proposed to a neural network based fuzzy control (neuro-fuzzy control) technique for attitude control of helicopter with strongly dynamic nonlinearities and derived a helicopter aerodynamic torque equation of helicopter and the force balance equation. A neuro-fuzzy system is a feedforward network that employs a back-propagation algorithm for learning purpose. A neuro-fuzzy system is used to identify nonlinear dynamic systems. Hence, this paper presents methods for the design of a neural network(NN) based fuzzy controller(that is, neuro-fuzzy control) for a helicopter of nonlinear MIMO systems. The proposed neuro-fuzzy control determined to a input-output membership function in fuzzy control and neural networks constructed to improve through learning of input-output membership functions determined in fuzzy control.
In this work, a neuro-fuzzy inference system combined with the wavelet denoising, PCA (principal component analysis) and SPRT (sequential probability ratio test) methods is developed to detect the relevant sensor failure using other sensor signals. The wavelet denoising technique is applied to remove noise components in input signals into the neuro-fuzzy system The PCA is used to reduce the dimension of an input space without losing a significant amount of information. The PCA makes easy the selection of the input signals into the neuro-fuzzy system. Also, a lower dimensional input space usually reduces the time necessary to train a neuro-fuzzy system. The parameters of the neuro-fuzzy inference system which estimates the relevant sensor signal are optimized by a genetic algorithm and a least-squares algorithm. The residuals between the estimated signals and the measured signals are used to detect whether the sensors are failed or not. The SPRT is used in this failure detection algorithm. The proposed sensor-monitoring algorithm was verified through applications to the pressurizer water level and the hot-leg flowrate sensors in pressurized water reactors.

In this paper, we design an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS) precompensator for load frequency control of 2-area power systems. While proportional integral derivative (PID) controllers are used in power systems, they may have some problems because of high nonlinearities of the power systems. So, a neuro-fuzzy-based precompensation scheme is incorporated with a convectional PID controller to obtain robustness to the nonlinearities. The proposed precompensation technique can be easily implemented by adding a precompensator to an existing PID controller. The applied neruo-fuzzy inference system precompensator uses a hybrid learning algorithm. This algorithm is to use both a gradient descent method to optimize the premise parameters and a least squares method to solve for the consequent parameters. Simulation results show that the proposed control technique is superior to a conventional Ziegler-Nichols PID controller in dynamic responses about load disturbances.
It has been established that a crack has an important effect on the dynamic behavior of a structure. This effect depends mainly on the location and depth of the crack. Toidentifythelocation and depth of a crack in a structure, a method is presented in this paper which uses neuro-fuzzy-evolutionary technique, that is, Adaptive-Network-based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) solved via hybrid learning algorithm (the back-propagation gradient descent and the least-squares method) and Continuous Evolutionary Algorithms (CEAs) solving sir ale objective optimization problems with a continuous function and continuous search space efficiently are unified. With this ANFIS and CEAs, it is possible to formulate the inverse problem. ANFIS is used to obtain the input(the location and depth of a crack) - output(the structural Eigenfrequencies) relation of the structural system. CEAs are used to identify the crack location and depth by minimizing the difference from the measured frequencies. We have tried this new idea on beam structures and the results are promising.

In this paper, a novel neuro-fuzzy controller is presented. The generic fuzzy controller is compensated by a neural network controller so that an overall control structure forms a neuro-fuzzy controller. The proposed neuro-fuzzy controller solves the difficulty of selecting optimal fuzzy rules by providing the similar effect of modifying fuzzy rules simply by changing crisp input values. The performance of the proposed controller is tested by controlling humanoid robot arms. The humanoid robot arm is analyzed and implemented. Experimental studies have shown that the performance of the proposed controller is better than that of a PID controller and of a generic fuzzy PD controller.

This paper describes the structure Identification of nonlinear function using Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference Technique(ANFIS). Nonlinear mapping relationship between inputs and outputs were modeled by Sugeno-Takaki's Fuzzy Inference Method. Specially, the consequent parts were identified using a series of 1st order equations and the antecedent parts using triangular type membership function or bell type ones. According to learning Rules of ANFIS, adjustable parameters were converged rapidly and accurately.
The mechanical characteristics of materials are very essential in structural analysis for the accuracy of structural calculations. The estimation modulus of elasticity of concrete ($E_c$), one of the most important mechanical characteristics, is a very complex area in terms of analytical models. Many attempts have been made to model the modulus of elasticity through the use of experimental data. In this study, the neuro-fuzzy (NF) technique was investigated in estimating modulus of elasticity of concrete and a new simple NF model by implementing a different NF system approach was proposed. A large experimental database was used during the development stage. Then, NF model results were compared with various experimental data and results from several models available in related research literature. Several statistic measuring parameters were used to evaluate the performance of the NF model comparing to other models. Consequently, it has been observed that NF technique can be successfully used in estimating modulus of elasticity of concrete. It was also discovered that NF model results correlated strongly with experimental data and indicated more reliable outcomes in comparison to the other models.
