Recently, it is increasingly necessary to run high-end neural network applications with huge computation overhead on top of resource-constrained embedded systems, such as wearable devices. While the huge computational overhead can be alleviated by distributed neural networks running on multiple separate devices, existing distributed neural network techniques suffer from a large traffic between the devices; thus are very vulnerable to communication failures. These drawbacks make the distributed neural network techniques inapplicable to wearable devices, which are connected with each other through unstable and low data rate communication medium like human body communication. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a distributed neural network partitioning technique that is resilient to communication failures. Furthermore, we show that the proposed technique also improves the inference accuracy even in case of no communication failure, thanks to the improved network partitioning. We verify through comparative experiments with a real-life neural network application that the proposed technique outperforms the existing state-of-the-art distributed neural network technique in terms of accuracy and resiliency to communication failures.

Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) has become a popular choice in electric vehicle applications, due to their excellent power to weight ratio. This paper proposes maximum torque control of IPMSM drive using adaptive learning fuzzy neural network and artificial neural network. This control method is applicable over the entire speed range which considered the limits of the inverter's current md voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current $i_d$ for maximum torque operation is derived. This paper considers the design and implementation of novel technique of high performance speed control for IPMSM using adaptive teaming fuzzy neural network and artificial neural network. The hybrid combination of neural network and fuzzy control will produce a powerful representation flexibility and numerical processing capability. Also, this paper proposes speed control of IPMSM using adaptive teaming fuzzy neural network and estimation of speed using artificial neural network. The back propagation neural network technique is used to provide a real time adaptive estimation of the motor speed. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system controlled adaptive teaming fuzzy neural network and artificial neural network, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail. Also, this paper proposes the analysis results to verify the effectiveness of the adaptive teaming fuzzy neural network and artificial neural network.

In this paper, experimental studies of a neural network (NN) control technique for non-model based position control of the x-y table robot are presented. Decentralized neural networks are used to control each axis of the x-y table robot separately. For an each neural network compensator, an inverse control technique is used. The neural network control technique called the reference compensation technique (RCT) is conceptually different from the existing neural controllers in that the NN controller compensates for uncertainties in the dynamical system by modifying desired trajectories. The back-propagation learning algorithm is developed in a real time DSP board for on-line learning. Practical real time position control experiments are conducted on the x-y table robot. Experimental results of using neural networks show more excellent position tracking than that of when PD controllers are used only.

In this paper, a novel neural network compensation technique for PD like fuzzy controlled robot manipulators is presented. A standard PD-like fuzzy controller is designed and used as a main controller for controlling robot manipulators. A neural network controller is added to the reference trajectories to modify input error space so that the system is robust to any change in system parameter variations. It forms a neural-fuzzy control structure and used to compensate for nonlinear effects. The ultimate goal is same as that of the neuro-fuzzy control structure, but this proposed technique modifies the input error not the fuzzy rules. The proposed scheme is tested to control the position of the 3 degrees-of-freedom rotary robot manipulator. Performances are compared with that of other neural network control structure known as the feedback error learning structure that compensates at the control input level.
This study aims at the development of the model for a forecasting of water quality in river basins using artificial neural network technique. Water quality by Artificial Neural Network Model forecasted and compared with observed values at the Sangju q and Dalsung stations in Nakdong river basin. For it, a multi-layer neural network was constructed to forecast river water quality. The neural network learns continuous-valued input and output data. Input data was selected as BOD, CO discharge and precipitation. As a result, it showed that method III of three methods was suitable more han other methods by statistical test(ME, MSE, Bias and VER). Therefore, it showed that Artificial Neural Network Model was suitable for forecasting river water quality.

Based on the growing demand for neural network technologies, various neural network inference engines are being developed. However, each inference engine has its own neural network storage format. There is a growing demand for standardization to solve this problem. This study presents interworking techniques for ensuring the compatibility of neural networks and data among the various deep learning frameworks. The proposed technique standardizes the graphic expression grammar and learning data storage format using the Neural Network Exchange Format (NNEF) of Khronos. The proposed converter includes a lexical, syntax, and parser. This NNEF parser converts neural network information into a parsing tree and quantizes data. To validate the proposed system, we verified that MNIST is immediately executed by importing AlexNet's neural network and learned data. Therefore, this study contributes an efficient design technique for a converter that can execute a neural network and learned data in various frameworks regardless of the storage format of each framework.

DC motor requires a rotor speed sensor for accurate speed control. The speed sensors such as resolvers and encoders are used as speed detectors. but they increase cost and size of the motor and restrict the industrial drive applications. So in these days. many Papers have reported on the sensorless operation or DC motor(3)-(5). This paper Presents a new sensorless strategy using neural networks(6)-(8). Neural network structure has three layers which are input layer. hidden layer and output layer. The optimal neural network structure was tracked down by trial and error and it was found that 4-16-1 neural network has given suitable results for the instantaneous rotor speed. Also. learning method is very important in neural network. Supervised learning methods(8) are typically used to train the neural network for learning the input/output pattern presented. The back-propagation technique adjusts the neural network weights during training. The rotor speed is gained by weights and four inputs to the neural network. The experimental results were found satisfactory in both the independency on machine parameters and the insensitivity to the load condition.

Recently, researches on the intelligence of electric power facilities have been trying to apply artificial intelligence techniques as computer platforms have improved. In particular, faults occurring in substation should be able to quickly identify possible faults and minimize power fault recovery time. This paper presents fault location technique for 154kV substation using neural network. We constructed a training matrix based on the operating conditions of the circuit breaker and IED to identify the fault location of each component of the target 154kV substation, such as line, bus, and transformer. After performing the training to identify the fault location by the neural network using Weka software, the performance of fault location discrimination of the designed neural network was confirmed.
The study on speech recognition and understanding has been done for many years. In this paper, we propose a new type of recurrent neural network architecture for speech recognition, in which each output unit is connected to itself and is also fully connected to other output units and all hidden units [1]. Besides that, we also proposed the new architecture and the learning algorithm of recurrent neural network such as Backpropagation Through Time (BPTT, which well-suited. The aim of the study was to observe the difference of Arabic's alphabet like "alif" until "ya". The purpose of this research is to upgrade the people's knowledge and understanding on Arabic's alphabet or word by using Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and Backpropagation Through Time (BPTT) learning algorithm. 4 speakers (a mixture of male and female) are trained in quiet environment. Neural network is well-known as a technique that has the ability to classified nonlinear problem. Today, lots of researches have been done in applying Neural Network towards the solution of speech recognition [2] such as Arabic. The Arabic language offers a number of challenges for speech recognition [3]. Even through positive results have been obtained from the continuous study, research on minimizing the error rate is still gaining lots attention. This research utilizes Recurrent Neural Network, one of Neural Network technique to observe the difference of alphabet "alif" until "ya".

In this paper, neural network force tracking control is proposed. The conventional impedance function is reformulated to have direct farce tracking capability. Neural network is used to compensate for all the uncertainties such as unknown robot dynamics, unknown environment stiffness, and unknown environment position. On line training signal of farce error for neural network is formulated. A large x-y table is built as a test-bed and neural network loaming algorithm is implemented on a DSP board mounted in a PC. Experimental studies of farce tracking on unknown environment for x-y table robot are presented to confirm the performance of the proposed technique.
