This paper analyzes performance measures of a Bluetooth_based mobile home network system. The home network system consists of terminals with Bluetooth interfaces, access points (AP), a home PC, and a gateway A mobile host in wireless terminals uses Mobile IP for supporting the mobility This paper considers four types of data traffic, which are new connection traffic, handoff traffic, Internet data traffic, and control data traffic and suggests a queueing system model of the home network system, where the AP and the home PC are modeled as M/G/1 with four priority queues and the gateway is modeled as M/G/1 with a single queue The generation rate and service time of individual traffic influence their performance measures. Based ell the suggested model, we propose the elapsed time of data traffic in terms of the number of cells, the number of Home PCs, arrival rates of four types of traffic and the service rates of AP/Home PCs/Gateway To analyze influences on the elapsed time with respect to arrival rate of four types of traffic, some examples are given.

In this paper, we constructed a sensor network environment where various sensors are used. Then, we evaluated the performance when this environment adopted existing clustering algorithms that are designed for only single type sensors network. In our experiments, we considered two different types of the networks. In the first, all nodes are equipped with identical sensors. In the second, all nodes are equipped with three different types of sensors. We measured performance variations of several clustering schemes in accordance with sensor data accuracy, sensor node resource depletion timing, amount of available energy, node isolation ratio, and network lifetime. According to our performance analysis, we proved that existing clustering algorithms are partially inefficient to maintain the various-sensor network. Consequently we suggest that a new algorithm is required to take aim at the various sensor network.

In the special situations such as the extension or construction of networks, network sharing can be a more favorable alternative. In this point, this research is to review the types and characteristics related to network sharing among mobile network operators(MNOs).
As mobile markets in most developed countries are rapidly coming close to saturation, it is increasingly challenging to cover the cost of providing the network, as revenues are not growing. This has driven mobile operators, thus far mostly involved in facility-based competition, to turn their attention to network sharing. There exist various types of mobile network sharing (MNS), from passive to active sharing. In this paper, we propose a model, based on the supply-demand model, for evaluating the economic effects of using six types of MNS. Our study measures the economic effects of employing these six types of MNS, using actual WiBro-related data. Considering lower service price and expenditure reduction, the total economic effect from a year's worth of MNS use is estimated to be between 513 million and 689 million USD, which is equal to three to four percent of the annual revenue of Korean mobile operators. The results of this study will be used to support the establishment of a MNS policy in Korea. In addition, the results can be used as a basic model for developing various network sharing models.

This study attempts to estimate the complementarity between 21 cities in the Korean Southeastern Region using data on the network time distance and the volume of flow between the cities. Four types of flows recognized are people, commodities, information and finance. The first two types of flows are thought to be made on the transportation network while the last two are on the communication network. For the purpose of the study, the expected volumes of flows between cities are first estimated using the gravity-based regression and doubly-constrained entropy maximization models. These baseline volumes are then subtracted from the observed volumes of flows (of people and commodities) or the estimated volumes of flows (of information and finance) in order to identify positive differences or complementarities. The result shows that these four types of complementarity flows form distinctive urban networks in terms of spatial pattern and urban hierarchy. This suggests that more customized strategies to different types of complementarity are recommended to properly address the issues related to network infrastructure provision in the pursuit of the network city model in the region.

Design factors are very important and deterministic in determining the first impression of products and environment. The final 30 number of channel button were chosen as a design factors at the Audio Unit. Then, we made the 8 types of prototype. with combining the design factors for experiment. Subjects rated the SD(Semantic Differential) evaluation sheets which have the 30 adjectives after watching each prototype. With the evaluated values, we simulated to identify the relation between the design factors and the adjectives using Neural Network. As a results, we could abstract the affective adjectives on each 8 types. Therefore, this research suggested the possibilities that we can infer the optimal design factors and types using Neural Network, if adjectives were given.
In order to effectively prepare for damage caused by weather events, it is important to proactively identify the possible impacts of weather phenomena on the domestic society and economy. Text mining and Network analysis are used in this paper to build a database of damage types and levels caused by heat wave. We collect news articles about heat wave from the SBS news website and determine the primary and secondary effects of that through network analysis. In addition to that, based on the frequency with which each impact keyword is mentioned, we estimate how much influence each factor has. As a result, the types of impacts caused by heat wave are efficiently derived. Among these types of impacts, we find that people in South Korea are mainly interested in algae and heat-related illness. Since this technique of analysis can be applied not only to news articles but also to social media contents, such as Twitter and Facebook, it is expected to be used as a useful tool for building weather impact databases.
Purpose This study aims to categorize the types of health, analyze the effects among health types based on network analysis find the most important type of health, and explain whether the results between health types vary depending on demographic characteristics. Design/methodology/approach This study investigated individual physical, clinical, mental, and social health(social capital and social support) levels through a survey of 100 people. Network analysis was applied to the survey data to confirm the degree centrality of nodes. Furthemore, we investigated the differences in core nodes according to gender and age groups. Findings According to the analysis result, social support was the most important health type in the entire group. Furthermore, the importance of health type was different depending on the characteristics of the groups. In the case of men, clinical health was the most important health type, and social support was analyzed to be the most important for women. In the case of young people, clinical health was the most important health type, and mental health was the most important health type in the middle-aged.

This paper analyzes the time complexity of Genetic Algorithm based Task Scheduling (GATS) which is designed for the scheduling of parallel programs with diverse embedded parallelism types in a heterogeneous network systems. The analysis of time complexity is performed based on two representation methods (REIA, REIS) which are proposed in this paper to encode the scheduling information. And the heterogeneous network systems consist of a set of loosely coupled parallel and vector machines connected via a high-speed network. The objective of heterogeneous network computing is to solve computationally intensive problems that have several types of parallelism, on a suite of high performance and parallel machines in a manner that best utilizes the capabilities of each machine. Therefore, when scheduling in heterogeneous network systems, the matching of the parallelism characteristics between tasks and parallel machines should be carefully handled in order to obtain more speedup. This paper shows how the parallelism type matching affects the time complexity of GATS.

Keeping the balance between exploration of new possibilities and exploitation of existing certainties in organizational innovation is getting its significance as business environments become more turbulent This paper focused on the relationship between two different types of innovation and network configuration. For this purpose, we conducted the empirical studies of 168 IT SMEs located in Gyeongbuk. For this analysis, we defined two innovation types as exploratory innovation and exploitative innovation. Also, we considered network scope and strength of tie as network configuration. The results showed that the exploratory innovation had sparse network of network scope and weak tie of strength. On the contrary the exploitative innovation had dense network and strong tie.
