This study aimed to evaluate the engine load factor (LF) of a 90 kW agricultural combine harvester. The combine harvester used in this study is equipped with an electronic engine, and real-time engine data (torque and speed) was collected through a controller area network. The speed of the combine harvester during harvesting operation was divided into three levels (4, 5, and 6 km/h) for the representative operation speed range of 4 to 6 km/h. The LF was calculated using the engine load data measured in real time during harvesting. A weight was applied to the LF for each condition based on a survey of the usage. Results of the field test showed that the LF was 0.53, 0.64, and 0.87 at working speeds of 4, 5, and 6 km/h, respectively. The highest engine load factor was recorded at 6 km/h. Finally, based on the weight for the usage applied, the integrated engine LF was analyzed to be 0.69, which is approximately 144% higher than the currently applied LF of 0.48. A study on LF analysis for the entire work cycle, including idling and driving of the combine harvester, will be addressed in a future study.

Gulf War Veterans' Illnesses (GWI) encompasses a broad range of unexplained symptomology specific to Veterans of the Persian Gulf War. Gastrointestinal (GI) distress is prominent in veterans with GWI and often presents as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Neurotoxins, including organophosphorus pesticides and sarin gas, are believed to have contributed to the development of GWI, at least in a subset of Veterans. However, the effects of such agents have not been extensively studied for their potential impact to GI disorders and immunological stability. Here we utilized an established murine model of GWI to investigate deleterious effects of diisopropyl fluorophosphate (DFP) exposure on the mucosal epithelium in vivo and in vitro. In vivo, acute DFP exposure negatively impacts the mucosal epithelium by reducing tight junction proteins and antimicrobial peptides as well as altering intestinal microbiome composition. Furthermore, DFP treatment reduced the expression of IL-17 in the colonic epithelium. Conversely, both IL-17 and IL-17C treatment could combat the negative effects of DFP and other cholinesterase inhibitors in murine intestinal organoid cells. Our findings demonstrate that acute exposure to DFP can result in rapid deterioration of mechanisms protecting the GI tract from disease. These results are relevant to suspected GWI exposures and could help explain the propensity for GI disorders in GWI Veterans.
As far the current severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), respiratory disease is still the biggest threat to human health. In addition, infectious respiratory diseases are particularly prominent. In addition to killing and clearing the infection pathogen directly, regulating the immune responses against the pathogens is also an important therapeutic modality. Sirtuins belong to NAD+-dependent class III histone deacetylases. Among 7 types of sirtuins, silent information regulator type-1 (SIRT1) played a multitasking role in modulating a wide range of physiological processes, including oxidative stress, inflammation, cell apoptosis, autophagy, antibacterial and antiviral functions. It showed a critical effect in regulating immune responses by deacetylation modification, especially through high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1), a core molecule regulating the immune system. SIRT1 was associated with many respiratory diseases, including COVID-19 infection, bacterial pneumonia, tuberculosis, and so on. Here, we reviewed the latest research progress regarding the effects of SIRT1 on immune system in respiratory diseases. First, the structure and catalytic characteristics of SIRT1 were introduced. Next, the roles of SIRT1, and the mechanisms underlying the immune regulatory effect through HMGB1, as well as the specific activators/inhibitors of SIRT1, were elaborated. Finally, the multitasking roles of SIRT1 in several respiratory diseases were discussed separately. Taken together, this review implied that SIRT1 could serve as a promising specific therapeutic target for the treatment of respiratory diseases.

Dendritic cells (DCs) are professional antigen-presenting cells that sample their environment and present antigens to naïve T lymphocytes for the subsequent antigen-specific immune responses. DCs exist in a range of distinct subpopulations including plasmacytoid DCs (pDCs) and classical DCs (cDCs), with the latter consisting of the cDC1 and cDC2 lineages. Although the roles of DC-specific transcription factors across the DC subsets have become understood, the posttranscriptional mechanisms that regulate DC development are yet to be elucidated. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are pivotal posttranscriptional regulators of gene expression in a myriad of biological processes, but their contribution to the immune system is just beginning to surface. In this study, our in-house probe collection was screened to identify miRNAs possibly involved in DC development and function by targeting the transcripts of relevant mouse transcription factors. Examination of DC subsets from the culture of mouse bone marrow with Flt3 ligand identified high expression of miR-124 which was able to target the transcript of TCF4, a transcription factor critical for the development and homeostasis of pDCs. Further expression profiling of mouse DC subsets isolated from in vitro culture as well as via ex vivo purification demonstrated that miR-124 was outstandingly expressed in CD24+ cDC1 cells compared to in pDCs and CD172α+ cDC2 cells. These results imply that miR-124 is likely involved in the processes of DC subset development by posttranscriptional regulation of a transcription factor(s).

This study aims to compare ego-centered journal citation identities among four domestic journals in library and information science. Ego-centered citation identity refers to the set of authors that an author frequently cites. The target journals for this study are Journal of the Korean Society for Library and Information Science (KSLIS), Journal of the Korean Biblia Society for Library and Information Science (KBIBLIA), Journal of Korean Library and Information Science Society (KLISS), and Journal of the Korean Society for Information Management (KOSIM). As a result of citation/citee ratio (CCR), self-citing rates (SCR), and journal co-cited analysis, the journal citation identities of four journals contained the other three journals besides the ego journal and JASIST. Furthermore, KOSIM had the most diverse range of journal citation identity and the four journals mattered the intra-journal information. KLISS showed the most unique cited journal network structure among the four journals.
This paper deals with the design and fabrication of a coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed super-wideband semicircular-disk-shaped dipole antenna operating in a frequency band of 2.4 GHz or higher. To feed the antenna, a CPW feed line was appended to the center of the lower arm of the semicircular-disk-shaped dipole antenna. For miniaturization, square patches were added to the ends of the two arms of the semicircular-disk-shaped dipole, whereas the slot width of the CPW feed line at the center of the dipole antenna was increased to improve impedance matching in the 5.4-6.3 GHz band. The simulated frequency band of the proposed antenna for a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) less than 2 was 2.369-30 GHz(170.7%), whereas the fabricated antenna was maintained VSWR less than 2 in the frequency range of 2.378-20 GHz when measured using a network analyzer operating up to 20 GHz so it can be applied as a super-wideband antenna for next-generation mobile communications.
Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) developed the Geochang satellite laser ranging (SLR) system for the scientific research on the space geodesy as well as for the national space missions including precise orbit determination and space surveillance. The operation system was developed based on the server-client communication structure, which controls the SLR subsystems, provides manual and automatic observation modes based on the observation algorithm, generates the range data between satellites and SLR stations, and carry out the post-processing to remove noises. In this study, we analyzed the requirements of operation system, and presented the development environments, the software structure and the observation algorithm, for the server-client communications. We also obtained laser ranging data for the ground target and the space geodetic satellite, and then analyzed the ranging precision between the Geochang SLR station and the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) network stations, in order to verify the operation system.

With advancements in machine learning technologies, artificial neural networks (ANNs) are being widely used to improve the performance of gamma-ray spectroscopy based on NaI(Tl) scintillation detectors. Typically, the performance of ANNs is evaluated using test datasets composed of actual spectra. However, the generation of such test datasets encompassing a wide range of actual spectra representing various scenarios often proves inefficient and time-consuming. Thus, instead of measuring actual spectra, we generated virtual spectra with diverse spectral features by sampling from categorical distribution functions derived from the base spectra of six radioactive isotopes: 54Mn, 57Co, 60Co, 134Cs, 137Cs, and 241Am. For practical applications, we determined the optimum counting time (OCT) as the point at which the change in the Kullback-Leibler divergence (ΔKLDV) values between the synthetic spectra used for training the ANN and the virtual spectra approaches zero. The accuracies of the actual spectra were significantly improved when measured up to their respective OCTs. The outcomes demonstrated that the proposed method can effectively determine the OCTs for gamma-ray spectroscopy based on ANNs without the need to measure actual spectra.

Collecting a dataset with a corresponding labeled gaze vector requires a high cost in the gaze estimation field. In this paper, we suggest a data augmentation of manipulating the gaze of an original image, which improves the accuracy of the gaze estimation model when the number of given gaze labels is restricted. By conducting multi-class gaze bin classification as an auxiliary task and adjusting the latent variable of the diffusion model, the model semantically edits the gaze from the original image. We manipulate a non-binary attribute, pitch and yaw of gaze vector to a desired range and uses the edited image as an augmented train data. The improved gaze accuracy of the gaze estimation network in the semi-supervised learning validates the effectiveness of our data augmentation, especially when the number of gaze labels is 50k or less.
Jinwon Au-Ag deposit is located in the Uijin gun which is southeast 300 km from Seoul. The deposit area consists of mainly Precambrian Hongjesa granite, which occurs as porphyroblastic texture, medium grain and composed of quartz, feldspar and mica. This deposit consists of four parallel hydrothermal quartz veins that fill NE oriented fractures in Precambrian Hongjesa granite. The grade of quartz veins contain from 3.0 to 21.4 g/t (average 6.4 g/t) gold and from 5.0 to 252.0 g/t (average 117.9 g/t) silver, respectively. They vary from 0.2 m to 0.6 m (average 0.3 m) in thickness and extend to about 200 m in strike length. Quartz veins occur as massive, network, cavity, breccia, crustiform, comb and zonal textures. Wallrock alteration has silicification, sericitization, pyritization and argillitization. The mineralogy of the quartz veins consists of quartz, arsenopyrite, cassiterite, pyrite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, galena, electrum, tetrahedrite, canfieldite, argentite, Ag-Sb-S mineral, Mn-Fe-O mineral, Pb-O mineral and Pb-P-Cl-O mineral(chloro-pyromorphite). Chemical compositions of minerals from this deposit are as followed; Fe/Fe+Mg of sericite is from 0.32 to 0.71, As content of arsenopyrite ranges from 27.91 to 30.33 atomic %, FeS content of sphalerite range from 9.77 to 16.76 mole %, Ag content of electrum is from 29.42 to 37.41 atomic % and Ag content of tetrahedrite range from 32.17 to 36.53 wt.%, respectively. Baased on mineralogy and chemical compositions of minerals from Jinwon Au-Ag deposit, deposition of minerals was caused by a change in temperature, oxygen fugacity($fO_2$) and sulfur fugacity($fS_2$) from the near neutral hydrothermal fluid evolved by reaction with wallrock.
