The Cradle(R) is specialized systems engineering tool that developed by 3SL(Structure Software System Limited) that has headquarters in U.K. and U.S.A.. It is recognized as the fastest growing Computer-Aided Systems Engineering Tool(CASE Tool). We built up requirements management database by using Cradle(R) on urban maglev program in Korea. So Cradle(R) provide a network function, is available accesses of clients in external organization that is associated on urban maglev program by the internet. However the network function of Cradle(R) require an opening of some a specific network ports and may causes a decreasing network speed. In this paper, we propose the method to establish an user environment of a requirements management database that overcome constraints on network condition.

A Location Register(LR) system manages each subscriber's location information, which continuously changes in mobile cellular network. For this purpose, the LR database system provides backup management facilities. The objectives of this paper are to identify the problems of the current LR system through rigorous analysis, to suggest solutions to them. I proposed efficient backup methods that takes into account the characteristics of LR database transactions. In the proposed backup method, I use two kinds of dirty flags in order to solve the performance degradation problem caused by frequent registration- location operations.

Many enterprises are performing the effective database applications with VAN(Value Added Network) or WAN(Web Added Network) . But it is very difficult and expensive. So we suggest low-cost database system within long distance area through personal computers. This system is very powerful for flexibility. It may be estimated it's value highly because they develop the program without high programming skill. This study would be used between company with company and/or between branch with branch, for example, customer claim information, inventory information, product order etc. It is important not importing document but importing data in document. Then end-user can accomplish analysis and decision-making with their own database. It would enhance productivity in many enterprises.

In a centralized database system, all system components reside at a single platform. In recent years there has been a rapid trend toward the integration of information systems over multiple sites that are interconnected via a communication network, and users' needs are changed to integration of multiple information sites. Multi database System is one of solutions for integrating distributed heterogeneous databases. However the problems in multi database system are restriction in distributed environment support, limitation in integrating heterogeneous media type data, static integration, and data-only of integration. In order to solve these problems, we propose a hybrid database integration model, HyDIM. HyDIM is used for the integrating legacy multimedia data, adopting CORBA, MDS, and mediator. We demonstrate a prototype system far PDM application domain.

This study provides a methodology for development of the Seismic Damage Evaluation System (SDES) in Korea. Major systems and status of database related to road networks in Korea are investigated to analyze the usability of the required information for developing the SDES. In this study, the SDES is composed of four components that are the road network component, the ground motion component, the fragile structure component, and the cost component. In addition, the procedures for the construction of database which support the SDES is proposed, and a prototype of the SDES for expressway of Korea is developed based on the developed methodology. The National Geospatial Information System (NGIS) and the National Earthquake Information System (NEIS) are used to develop the road network component and ground motion component, respectively. For the fragile structure component and the cost component, Highway Bridge Management System (HEMS) was used.

This paper presents a design of network and database structure of the integrated system for power system operational planning and analysis that will be more economical and stable of power system operation. An alias of this system is Highly Integrated Total Energy System(HITES). The Client/server model of HITES is designed as a remote data management model. The input/output-type of application programs and Oracle server is standardized. The separated user-databases from main-database strengthen security of HITES. It is plan to do that tables and relationships are defined by database designs. The connection of application program and DBMS of HITES will be tested through database design and data construction.

유역의 공간 DB를 DEM을 이용하여 구축할 경우에는 DEM으로부터 유역의 수문학적 지형특성 인자를 손쉽게 추출할 수 있으며, 이들이 자동으로 공간 DB의 속성으로 입력되어 관리될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 유역정보를 관리하기 위한 기반정보인 프레임워크 공간 DB의 구축방안에 대하여 기술하였다. 이롤 위하여 프레임워크 공간 데이터의 범위를 결정하고, 이들의 상호 연관관계를 정의하였으며 실제 유역을 대상으로 프레임워크 공간 DB률 구축하였다. 한편 본 연구에서는 순수 국내기술로 수자원 공간자료 생성 및 수자원 시스템 개발 모듈인 HyGIS(Hydrological Geographic Information System)를 개발하였다. HyGIS를 이용하여 수문학적 지형특성인자 및 공간자료를 추출하였으며, 이들 자료를 실제 유역의 프레임워크 공간 DB를 구축하는 기본 데이터로 이용하였다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 과정을 통하여 하천 네트워크 기반의 유역관리시스템 개발을 위한 프레임워크 공간 DB의 구축방안을 제시하고자 한다.

본 연구에서는 기존에 개발된 상수도 관련 GIS(geographic information system)에서 관로해석을 위한 자료를 자동으로 입력할 수 있고, 사용자를 위한 GUI(geographic user interface)를 제공하는 GNLP(GIS linked non-linear pipe network analysis program)프로그램을 개발하였다. 관로시스템의 수리해석은 Hazen-Williams의 손실수두방정식을 기초로 한 비선형 해석기법을 이용하여 시행하였으며, 데이터베이스 응용 프로그램을 작성하기 위해서 관계형 데이터베이스 관리시스템(RDBMS ; relational database management system)인 Microsoft사의 Microsoft Access를 사용하였다. 이 GNLP 프로그램은 실제 관망설계자가 관로시스템의 수리해석에 필요한 자료의 입력을 용이하게 할 수 있도록 시스템환경을 개선하였다. 그리고 압력 및 유량 등 관로시스템의 수리적 해석 결과를 표 및 챠트 형태로 출력이 가능하고, Excel 파일로 변환이 가능하다. 또한 GIS의 중요 요소인 질의(query) 기능이나 분석된 자료를 확인하고자 할 때 이를 효과적으로 디스플레이가 가능하도록 개발되었다.

By managing not only geographical information but also various kinds of attribute data. GIS presents useful information for decision-makings. Most of decision-making problems using GIS can be formulated into network-optimization problems. In this study we deal with the implementation of network optimization system that extracts data from the database in GIS. solves a network optimization problem and present optimal solutions through GIS' graphical user interface. We design a nitwork optimization system and present some implementation techniques by showing a prototype of the network optimization system. Our network optimization system consists of three components : the interface module for user and GIS the basic network the program module the advanced network optimization program module. To handle large-scale networks the program module including various techniques for large sparse networks is also considered, For the implementation of the network optimization system we consider two approaches : the method using script languages supported by GIS and the method using client tools of GIS. Finally some execution results displayed by the prototype version of network optimization system are given.

본 연구에서는 지하시설물의 효율적인 관리방안을 제시하기 위하여 광주광역시에서 개발한 'GIS를 이용한 상수도관망관리시스템'의 구축과정 및 운영상황을 검토 분석한 결과 시스템 구성에서 송배수관조회, 설비관리, 지번조회 등을 관로관리와 누수관리에 적용하여 시험한 결과 실용적으로 사용할 수 있다고 판단되었으며, 지번조회를 이용한 주소찾기는 상수도시설 자료관리의 업무능률향상에 효과가 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 전문 기술인력의 확보양성, 막대한 투자재원의 안정적 확보, GIS 관련업체 이해 당사자의 갈등 등의 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 GIS S/W개발 전문기술과 Know-How필요, GIS의 Database구축 예산과 시간의 확보, GIS관련업체 이해 당사자의 갈등해소 등의 대책이 수립되어야 할 것으로 판단되었다. GIS에 의한 상수도관망 시설의 전산관리시스템 구축으로 노후관 교채, 누수탐사 등 점진적 시행으로 연간 40-50억원의 예산절감 및 맑고 깨끗한 물공급의 효과를 거양하였다.
