  • In the near future it is foreseen that a genuine multimedia service over the WiMAX system is provided in a worldwide manner by exploiting the QoS technologies introduced in the wireless and wired broadband network. In this work we propose a pricing scheme for the multimedia service over the generic WiMAX system that supports a full QoS functionality. We assume real-time services such as the voice and video as well as the nonreal-time service such as the conventional high-speed data, and we propose a pricing and charging scheme for those services by investigating the inherent characteristics of those services and the multiple-class of QoS-service provided to them. After that we propose a method to compute expected revenue that is obtained from the WiMAX system by using an analytic method to estimate the usage of the bandwidth resources for the different class of services. Via numerical experiment, we verify the implication of the work.

  • This paper proposes a method to adjust the turn ratio of a transformer for the high-efficiency operation of an LLC converter with a wide input range in a wired/wireless integrated charging system for electric vehicles. The characteristics of the inductive power transfer converter in the integrated charging system are analyzed to design the LLC converter, and the DC-link voltage range is derived. The aspect of voltage gain following each parameter of the LLC converter is analyzed, and the resonant network and transformer are designed. Based on the designed parameters, the feasibility of the design and control method is verified by implementing the operation of the LLC converter according to the DC-link and battery voltages.

  • Generally, wind industry has been oriented to large power systems which require large windy areas and often need to overcome environment restrictions. However, small-scale wind turbines are closer to the consumers and have a large market potential, and much more efforts are required to become economically attractive. In this paper, a prototype of a small-scale urban wind generation system for battery charging application is described and a neural network based MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) algorithm which can be effectively applied to urban wind turbine system is proposed. Through Matlab based simulation studies and actual implementation of the proposed algorithm, the feasibility of the proposed scheme is verified.

  • In this paper, we propose the algorithms which determine 1) the efficient anchor-node visiting route of mobile sink in terms of energy supply and 2) the efficient energy amount to be charged to each anchor node, by using the information of each anchor node and the mobile sink. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) using mobile sinks can be deployed in more challenging environments such as those that are isolated or dangerous, and can also achieve a balanced energy consumption among sensors which leads to prolong the network lifetime. Most mobile sinks visit only some anchor nodes which store the data collected by the nearby sensor nodes because of their limited energy. The problem of these schemes is that the lifetime of the anchor nodes can be shorten due to the increased energy consumption, which rapidly reduces the overall lifetime of WSN. This study utilizes a mobile sink capable of wireless power transmission to solve this problem, so a mobile sink can gather data from anchor nodes while charging energy to them. Through the performance verification, it is confirmed that the number of blackout nodes and the amount of collected data are greatly improved regardless of the size of the network.

  • This article describes a function and structure of access network equipment under BcN environment. Access network until now have constructed separately to offer voice, data service. However, simplifies network structure, function that can do traffic concentration, subscriber certification, individual charging, QoS according to service and routing is required in BcN. In this paper, compare method offering by separate system with existing access network and method that offer integrating function inside system for structure of suitable access network to BcN and search structure of access network equipment for desirable access network of hereafter. Composition of this paper is as following. In Chapter 2, establishment history and structure of access network until present. In Chaprte 3, define suitable requirement and functions to BcN. And compare structure for access net work that is new with present. Last Chapter 4, suggests direction of structure of BcN access network and concludes conclusion.

  • International Roaming is a kind of telecommunication service that enables subscribers use the same mobile number when they go abroad and access other service provider's network. International roaming call is made through three network parts-home (original service provider) network, intermediate network, and local (overseas service provider) network. It is not possible to monitor every section of whole roaming service network because service providers do not provide their network management information to other service providers. The limitation causes harsh problem when a service anomaly arises and operators have to confirm the reason of failure. To solve this problem, we propose a scheme that deduces roaming service status of each overseas service provider using internal network management information. SK telecom implemented a international roaming service management system based on the scheme using performance measurement of signaling points, roaming service nodes, and charging data from existing network management systems.

  • The importance of ESS has been emphasized due to stabilization of power demand due to deterioration of network reliability and expansion of renewable energy sources. ESS (Energy Storage System) stores the remaining power and uses it when necessary to meet the power demand, and build the ESS system mainly in conjunction with solar and wind power. In this paper, we propose a home PV Charging Module using the Master-Slave method which is effective for low insolation. After designing the module, Fast MPPT algorithm is applied to generate the maximum output from the nonlinear output characteristics of the PV modules. The average power value for the input of PV Charging Module was 296.90 W and the output power was 289.60 W, which averaged 97.54%.

  • As Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle and Electric Vehicle (PHEV/EV) take a greater share in the personal automobile market, their high penetration levels may bring potential challenges to electric utility especially at the distribution level. Thus, there is a need for the flexible charging management strategy to compromise the benefits of both PHEV/EV owners and power grid side. There are many different management methods that depend on the objective function and the constraints caused by the system. In this paper, the schema and dispatching schedule of centralized PHEV/EV charging spot network are analyzed. Also, we proposed and compared three power allocation strategies for centralized charging spot. The first strategy aims to maximize state of vehicles at plug-out time, the rest methods are equalized allocation and prioritized allocation based on vehicles SoC. The simulation results show that each run of the optimized algorithms can produce the satisfactory solutions to response properly the requirement from PHEV/EV customers.
