  • A topological theory is introduced to extend Tsenoglou's theory to polymer blends having temporary and permanent networks composed of multicomponent polymers which have miscible and flexible chains. The topological theory may estimate the values of free elastic energy, the molecular weight between entanglements, and the equilibrium shear moduli, and it may establish more correctly the topological relations among these physical quantities. Through such introduction of the topological theory, there can be topologically analyzed the mixing law for the rubbery plateau modulus of a fluid polymer blend, and there can be considered the topological relationship to the equilibrium modulus of an interpenetrating polymer network containing trapped entanglements and dangling segments. The theoretically predictive values are compared and show good agreement with the experimental data for several miscible polymer blends.

  • The network theory studies interconnection between discrete objects to find about the behavior of a collection of objects. Also, nanomaterials are a collection of discrete atoms interconnected together to perform a specific task of mechanical or/and electrical type. Therefore, it is reasonable to use the network theory in the study of behavior of super-molecule in sport nano-scale. In the current study, we aim to examine vibrational behavior of spherical nanostructured composite with different geometrical and materials properties. In this regard, a specific shear deformation displacement theory, classical elasticity theory and analytical solution to find the natural frequency of the spherical nano-composite sport structure equipment. The analytical results are validated by comparison to finite element (FE). Further, a detail comprehensive results of frequency variations are presented in terms of different parameters. It is revealed that the current methodology provides accurate results in comparison to FE results. On the other hand, different geometrical and weight fraction have influential role in determining frequency of the structure.

  • The study on the structure of personal information flows is very important because government can measure and respond the risks caused by companies which collect personal information from other personal data users to operate their business. Recently, as the value of personal information is increasing, number of companies which intend to process a large scale of personal information is increasing too. Accordingly, the issue on the structure of personal data flow has become important for the leading personal information processors which receive far more personal information from others to comply the personal information protection laws. However, research on this issue has rarely performed so far. Therefore, this study proposes a framework for personal information data flow structure based on network theory. Theoretically, the results of the study may contribute to extending the application areas of the network theory to personal information area. Practically, the study may contribute to assisting regulatory authorities to find and monitor personal information processors.

  • The integrated core network architecture and various mobile subscriber behavior can result in a significant increase of signaling load inside the evolved packet core network proposed by 3GPP in Release 8. Consequently, an authentication signaling analysis can provide insights into reducing the authentication signaling loads and latency, satisfying the quality-of-experience. In this paper, we evaluate the signaling loads in the EPS architecture via analytical modeling based on the renewal process theory. The renewal process theory works well, irrespective of a specific random process (i.e. Poisson). This paper considers various subscribers patterns in terms of call arrival rate, mobility, subscriber's preference and operational policy. Numerical results are illustrated to show the interactions between the parameters and the performance metrics. The sensitivity of vertical handover performance and the effects of heavy-tail process are also discussed.

  • A micro-mechanical pipe network model with the shape of a cube was developed to simulate the behavior of fluid flow through a porous medium. The fluid-flow mechanism through the cubic pipe network channels was defined mainly by introducing a well-known percolation theory (Stauffer and Aharony, 1994). A non-uniform flow generally appeared because all of the pipe diameters were allocated individually in a stochastic manner based on a given pore-size distribution curve and porosity. Fluid was supplied to one surface of the pipe network under a certain driving pressure head and allowed to percolate through the pipe networks. A percolation condition defined by capillary pressure with respect to each pipe diameter was applied first to all of the network pipes. That is, depending on pipe diameter, the fluid may or may not penetrate a specific pipe. Once pore pressures had reached equilibrium and steady-state flow had been attained throughout the network system, Darcy's law was used to compute the resultant permeability. This study investigated the sensitivity of network size to permeability calculations in order to find out the optimum network size which would be used for all the network modelling in this study. Mean pore size and pore size distribution curve obtained from field are used to define each of pipe sizes as being representative of actual oil sites. The calculated and measured permeabilities are in good agreement.

  • Science and technology are regarded as public goods and knowledge in traditional innovation theory. Also, linear innovation model and technological determinism are derived from its theory. This is changed, however, in new innovation theory. Social shaping of technology is emphasized and interaction, network, system characters of innovation process are involved in its theory.

  • In this paper, we study the problem of selfish behavior of secondary users (SUs) based on cognitive radio (CR) with the presence of primary users (PUs). SUs are assumed to contend on a channel using the carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) and PUs do not consider transmission of SUs, where CSMA/CA protocols rely on the random deference of packets. SUs are vulnerable to selfish attacks by which selfish users could pick short random deference to obtain a larger share of the available bandwidth at the expense of other SUs. In this paper, game theory is used to study the systematic cheating of SUs in the presence of PUs in multichannel CR networks. We study two cases: A single cheater and multiple cheaters acting without any restraint. We identify the Pareto-optimal point of operation of a network with multiple cheaters and also derive the Nash equilibrium of the network. We use cooperative game theory to drive the Pareto optimality of selfish SUs without interfering with the activity of PUs. We show the influence of the activity of PUs in the equilibrium of the whole network.

  • Sensor Nodes play a major role to monitor and sense the variations in physical space in various real-time application scenarios. These nodes are powered by limited battery resources and replacing those resource is highly tedious task along with this it increases implementation cost. Thus, maintaining a good network lifespan is amongst the utmost important challenge in this field of WSN. Currently, energy efficient routing techniques are considered as promising solution to prolong the network lifespan where multi-hop communications are performed by identifying the most energy efficient path. However, the existing scheme suffer from performance related issues. To solve the issues of existing techniques, a novel hybrid technique by merging particle swarm optimization and game theory model is presented. The PSO helps to obtain the efficient number of cluster and Cluster Head selection whereas game theory aids in finding the best optimized path from source to destination by utilizing a path selection probability approach. This probability is obtained by using conditional probability to compute payoff for agents. When compared to current strategies, the experimental study demonstrates that the proposed GTPSO strategy outperforms them.

  • Social network is one of the representative analytical method of the complexity theory and this research analyzed various and unique strategic alliance model of e-business domain using social network technique. A lot of small and medium firms of e-business field had developed many useful type of strategic alliances for the firms tried to maximize the effect of advertisement, marketing and to make up for their weak points and to compete with huge company with capital strength long before. But it is too rare to analyze the structure of the firm networks and to study the evolution and extension of business model considered the role of each company in the network. Social network analysis helps each firm's network easily visualized and completely modelized. Additionally, this paper cries to analyze the relationship between the role of hub and broke in the firm networks for strategic alliance, and financial performance. We demonstrate the firm with finer business model to the business environment can make higher financial performance. This implies that the firm that can create new finer business model, will lead the network of e-business firms and evolve the industry of e-business.

  • There has been a growing concern on ontology especially in recent knowledge-based industry and defining a field-customized semantic word network is essential for building it. In this paper, a word network for ontology is established with 785 publications of Korean Society of Rural Planning(KSRP), from 1995 to 2017. Semantic relationships between words in the publications were quantitatively measured with the 'normalized pointwise mutual information' based on the information theory. Appearance and co-appearance frequencies of nouns and adjectives in phrases are analyzed based on the assumption that a 'noun phrase' represents a single 'concept'. The word network of KSRP was compared with that of $WordNet^{TM}$, a world-wide thesaurus network, for the verification. It is proved that the KSRP's word network, established in this paper, provides words' semantic relationships based on the common concepts of Korean rural planning research field. With the results, it is expecting that the established word network can present more opportunity for preparation of the fourth industrial revolution to the field of the Korean rural planning.
