  • As the CEO`s of game companies should be ready for the rapid change of technical environment of game industry, highly skilled employees and the social capital become very important factors in doing game business. 2013 Korea Game White Paper shows that many game companies prefer employees with job experience. The social capital and network help game companies get industrial information easily. This study empirically examines the relationship among CEO`s related business experience, corporate performance and social capital based on 134 Korean game companies. CEO`s characteristics are measured by using demographic characteristics including age, amount of education, and prior job experience and psychological characteristics, but this study focuses on related business experience. The results of this study show some significant relationship between the related business experience of CEO and nonfinancial performance of the firm. Secondly, this study verifies the moderating effect of the social capital between the related business experience of CEO and non-financial performance of the firm. The results of the moderating effect of the social capital show that social capital increases the non-financial performance.

  • The compressive strength of concrete is a commonly used criterion in producing concrete. However, the test on the compressive strength is complicated and time-consuming. More importantly, since the test is usually performed 28 days after the placement of the concrete at the construction site, it is too late to make improvements if unsatisfactory test results are incurred. Therefore, an accurate and practical strength estimation method that can be used before the placement of concrete is highly desirable. In this study, the estimation of the concrete strength is performed using support vector regression (SVR) based on the mix proportion data from two ready-mixed concrete companies. The estimation performance of the SVR is then compared with that of neural network (NN). The SVR method has been found to be very efficient in estimation accuracy as well as computation time, and very practical in terms of training rather than the explicit regression analyses and the NN techniques.

  • This paper is a study related to connecting to medical device in IoT environment for e-Health Implementation. The implementation environment of this paper consists of sensing device node, gateway and its server. The information from medical devices on sensor node is transferred to gateway. The gateway transfers the information from their devices into the server and the server saves their transferred information. The medical information from medical devices is ready to use in making medical decision which is saved in database. In this paper, we connected the gateway to the commercial sensor node for implementing gateway functions. We studied and implemented how their network entities communicate each other.

  • We present here the preliminary results of the fast variability of AGN radio light curves. The shortest time scale of minute in AGN light curves is needed to probe the AGN activity for a few reasons; First, to check if there is any kind of shortest time scale activity. Secondly, to find out what high frequency end of AGN spectra look like. For the last, to see the time delay at several wavelength bands and the change of the spectral index with time. The observation was conducted with three KVN(Korea VLBI Network) antennas with single dish cross scan mode. In order not to lose the target at any given time, whenever one station needs to observe the calibrator, the other station is on the target. Though the detailed data reduction is still going on, there might exist varying feature in the radio light curve. The more fine calibration will be done in near future and another good data set is ready for the reduction.

  • 1078 sets of mixtures in total that include fly ash, slag, and/or silica fume have been collected for prediction on concrete properties. A new database platform (Compos) has been developed, by which the stepwise multiple linear regression (SMLR) and BP artificial neural networks (BP ANNs) programs have been applied respectively to identify correlations between the concrete properties (strength, workability, and durability) and the dosage and/or quality of raw materials'. The results showed obvious nonlinear relations so that forecasting by using nonlinear method has clearly higher accuracy than using linear method. The forecasting accuracy rises along with the increasing of age and the prediction on cubic compressive strength have the best results, because the minimum average relative error (MARE) for 60-day cubic compressive strength was less than 8%. The precision for forecasting of concrete workability takes the second place in which the MARE is less than 15%. Forecasting on concrete durability has the lowest accuracy as its MARE has even reached 30%. These conclusions have been certified in a ready-mixed concrete plant that the synthesized MARE of 7-day/28-day strength and initial slump is less than 8%. The parameters of BP ANNs and its conformation have been discussed as well in this study.

  • As Republic of Korea community nears to old age society rapidly, various kinds problem about old mans is risen. Can speak that item connected with medical treatment is more serious in the importance aspect among them Therefore, many-sided effort is consisting to ready countermeasure in reply, but economical method is not presented clearly as being realistic yet. Also, medical treatment service that more users through diffusion of fast internet are little more better effort that serve consist. But, in the case of old age, by difficulty of the use, restriction condition happens. In this paper proposed system that is prevailing already and user-friendly can cope curtly in old mans' emergency situation more rapidly and conveniently using mobile phone of CDMA way relatively.

  • Internet of Things (IoT) is the paradigm of network of Internet-connected things as objects that constantly sense the physical world and share the data for further processing. At the core of IoT lies the early technology of radio frequency identification (RFID), which provides accurate location tracking of real-world objects. With its small size and convenience, RFID tags can be attached to everyday items such as books, clothes, furniture and the like as well as to animals, plants, and even humans. This phenomenon is the beginning of new applications and services for the industry and consumer market. IoT is regarded as a fourth industrial revolution because of its massive coverage of services around the world from smart homes to artificial intelligence-enabled smart driving cars, Internet-enabled medical equipment, etc. It is estimated that there will be several dozens of billions of IoT devices ready and operating until 2020 around the world. Despite the growing statistics, however, IoT has security vulnerabilities that must be addressed appropriately to avoid causing damage in the future. As such, we mention some fields of study as a future topic at the end of the survey. Consequently, in this comprehensive survey of IoT, we will cover the architecture of IoT with various layered models, security characteristics, potential applications, and related supporting technologies of IoT such as 5G, MEC, cloud, WSN, etc., including the economic perspective of IoT and its future directions.

  • PVM provides users with a single image of high performance parallel computing machine by collecting machines distributed over a network. Low communication overhead is essential to effectively run applications on PVM based platforms. In the original PVM, three times of memory copies are required for a PVM task to send a message to a remote task, which results in performance degradation. We propose a zero-copy model using global shared memory that can be accessed by PVM tasks, PVM daemon, and network interface card(NIC). In the scheme, a task packs data into global shared memory, and notify daemon that the data is ready to be sent, then daemon routes the data to a remote task to which it is sent with no virtual data copy overhead. Experimental result reveals that the message round trip time between two machines is reduced significantly in the proposed zero-copy scheme.

  • This paper introduces a ZigBee network-based four-lane lap time measurement system that can be set up for short-distance races. The instructions "Ready-Set-Go" can be announced at the entry point node when the start button is pushed, and foot switches installed at the exit point node can be stepped on by the runner for lap time measurement of the race. The start and exit point nodes are connected to a ZigBee network to communicate time synchronization packets. The exit point node maintains synchronized local time within 10 ms at most. The system does not need expensive measurement equipment and provides lap time recording in a more convenient manner than conventional lap time measurement methods.
