  • This paper presents SNMP remote management system for power plants using micro-controller. Control board supporting LAN-based remote monitor and control is produced and MMI program on PC is also constructed. To expand into Internet, SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol), the standard network management protocol of TCP/IP protocol suite, is ported to this control board consisted of micro-controller, 80c196KC, and LAN controller, Am7990DC. To overcome the constraints of CPU performance and memory capacity, TCP/P protocol suite is simplified and informations needed to management were implemented in accordance with MIB(Management Information Base) specified in RFC. Also monitoring software is constructed by Visual Basic.

  • This paper presents a wired and wireless linked remote control system. Ethernet based network communication is used for long distance management and 2.4GHz RF network is adopted for the local area communication between the main network and the ballast. For the effective remote control and management including dimming using wired and wireless linked digital communication networks, control circuit of the ballast is implemented with fully digital circuit using MCU and EPLD. In this paper, the proper frame structure is proposed for the digital-remote lighting-control system and the detailed system configurations including fully digital controlled ballast for the induction lamp are described.

  • This paper studied the safety management network system of infrastructure which constructed smart sensors, closed-circuit television(CCTV) and monitoring system. This safety management of infrastructure applied to bridge, cut slop and tunnel, embankment etc. The system applied to technologies of standardization guidelines, data acquirement technologies, data analysis and judgment technologies, system integration setup technology, and IT technologies. It was constructed safety management network system of various infrastructure to improve efficient management and operation for many infrastructure. Integrated safety management network system of infrastructure consisted of the real-time structural health monitoring system of each infrastructure, integrated control center, measured data transmission using i of tet web-based, collecting data using sf ver, early alarm system which the dangerous event of infrastructure occurred. Integrated control center consisted of conference room, control room to manage and analysis the data, server room to present the measured data and to collect the raw data. Early alarm system proposed realization of warning and response within 5 minute or less through development of sensor-based progress report and propagation automation system using the media such as MMS, VMS, EMS, FMS, SMS and web services of report and propagation. Based on this, the most effective u-Infrastructure Safety Management System is expected to be stably established at a less cost, thus making people's life more comfortable. Information obtained from such systems could be useful for maintenance or structural safety evaluation of existing structures, rapid evaluation of conditions of damaged structures after an earthquake, estimation of residual life of structures, repair and retrofitting of structures, maintenance, management or rehabilitation of historical structures.

  • This paper discusses applications of neural network to stand stocking control problems. The scope of this research was to develop a neural network model for finding optimal stand management regimes and examining the performance of the model for field application. Performance was analyzed in consideration of the number of training examples and structural aspects of neural network. Research on network performance was based on extensive optimization studies for pure longleaf pine(Pinus palustris) stands. For experimental purposes. an existing nonlinear even-aged stand optimization model with a whole-stand growth and yield simulator was used to generate data samples required for the performance analysis.

  • Intelligent Network offers network operators significant opportunities to provide new services such as Freephone service and Credit Calling service. To realize the IN capabilities it is required to introduce several new components into the existing telecommunication network. Among them Service Control Point is regarded as a keystone node of Intelligent Network. This paper discusses the architecture design and implementation of NICS(Network Information Control System), which is a combined system of SCP and SMS. Service processing aspects are discussed in detail among the functions of NICS, and service management and test environment of service logic are presented also. The field trial of NICS which has been developed to provide Freephone Service and Credit Calling Service is scheduled at the end of 1993.

  • Proper management on user-driven virtual circuits (VCs) is essential for seamless operation of virtual networks. The Network Provisioning System (NPS) is useful software for creating user-driven VCs automatically and must take fault management into account for physical layer impairments on user-driven VCs. This paper addresses a user-driven and trusty protection management in an NPS with an open standard Network Service Interface (NSI), as a contribution to show how to implement the user-driven and trusty protection management required for user-driven VCs. In particular, it provides a RESTful web service Interface for Configuration and Event management (RICE) that enable management of a distinguished data and control plane VC status between Network Service Agents (NSAs) in the event of a node or link fault and repair in a domain. This capability represents a contribution to show how network and protection events in a domain can be monitored between NSAs (NPSs with the NSI) in multiple domains. The implemented NPS controls and manages both the primary and backup VC with disjoint path in a user-driven manner. A demonstration to verify RICE API's capability is addressed for the trusty protection in the dynamic VC network.

  • Network assets have been protected from malware infection by checking the integrity of mobile devices through network access control systems, vaccines, or mobile device management. However, most of existing systems apply a uniform security policy to all users, and allow even infected mobile devices to log into the network inside for completion of the integrity checking, which makes it possible that the infected devices behave maliciously inside the network. Therefore, this paper proposes a network defense mechanism based on isolated networks. In the proposed mechanism, every mobile device go through the integrity check system implemented in an isolated network, and can get the network access only if it has been validated successfully.

  • The Internet of Things (IoT) is a rapidly growing physical network that depends on objects, vehicles, sensors, and smart devices. IoT has recently become an important research topic as it autonomously acquires, integrates, communicates, and shares data directly across each other. The centralized architecture of IoT makes it complex to concurrently access control them and presents a new set of technological limitations when trying to manage them globally. This paper proposes a new decentralized access control architecture to manage IoT devices using blockchain, that proposes a solution to concurrency management problems and enhances resource locking to reduce the transaction conflict and avoids deadlock problems. In addition, the proposed algorithm improves performance using a fully distributed access control system for IoT based on blockchain technology. Finally, a performance comparison is provided between the proposed solution and the existing access management solutions in IoT. Deadlock detection is evaluated with the latency of requesting in order to examine various configurations of our solution for increasing scalability. The main goal of the proposed solution is concurrency problem avoidance in decentralized access control management for IoT devices.

  • Since an ATM network consists of a number of VPC/VCC requiring various QoS requirements, the end-to-end QoS for each VPC/VCC should be guaranteed. Although many research works on the traffic control are under study to guarantee the QoS, there have been research efforts to reflect the results of network management functions into the traffic control mechanism. To effectively make use of the performance management functions into the VPC/VCC management, threre is a need for the network manager to rapidly retrieve the relevant information. In this research, the mechanism to effectively retrieve the management information using SNMP is suggested. First of all, we construct the MIBs in the agent for the corresponding VPC/VCC. Also, we suggest the way to retrieve MIB with minimum cost. Mathematical analysis shows that the proposed technique has better performance than that using the existing SNMP.

  • In accordance with increase of electrical power demanded, more efficient supervisory control of distribution system is required. This study contains development of MMI(man-machine-interface) system with GUI(graphic-user-interface), for the automatic power distribution system. The main function of MMI system are to edit network of power distribution, to view network, to warnning a breakdown and to management of data base for network. The GUI function of MMI system enables more efficient management of power distribution system.
