  • The Netherlands' contemporary Art Furniture has drawn large attention from design and art fields all around the world because of Dutch designers' intriguing themes and experimental approaches. Its successful achievement not comes from certain policies or personalities, but the result of ceaseless internal criticisms and self examinations. After World War II, Modernism was the most common notion of furniture design for mass production in the Netherlands like other nations, but Dutch designers and critics put modernist canon up for discussion since 1960s. They have searched counter modernist design for expression of human element and warmth using art works, craft, and Postmodernism theory, etc. Throughout design debate of modernism, free design, design as art and conceptual design, now we could observe Dutch designer's unique and distinguished Art Furniture in the influential places. By analyzing the development of the Netherlands' contemporary Art Furniture in chronological sequences, we could understand them better and learn something useful to Art Furniture in South Korea.

  • Transposed scan is an innovation that paves the road to ultra-slim CRTs with deflection angles up to 135$^{\circ}C$ We discuss the integration of video transposition with the other video processing functions in the television set. An in-place transposition algorithm which minimizes the amount of frame memory is proposed as a low-cost solution for transposed scan conversion. The difference in visual perception of transposed scan and normal scan depends on the frame rate and the line density of the video format. We found that for high frame rates and high line densities, no difference was perceived for both scan modes.

  • The Purpose of this study Is to investigate Open Housing design methods on multi-family housing in the Netherlands and Finland. This study is based on the several actual field survey through visiting eight sites in the netherlands and Finland. we found a lot of design items applied to the Holland and Finnish multi-family housing for Open Housing. Open Housing design items are user participation design, layout flexibility, finishes selection, flexible utilities, interior components and use of modular grid.

  • This paper concentrates on the design and construction aspects of a transmission for a mid-class passenger car with internal combustion engine. The transmission, consisting of a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with a Van Doorne V-belt, a planetary gear set and a compact steel flywheel is used to prove the concept of mechanical torque assist. The design goal is to obtain a proof of concept transmission with maximal efficiency, using proven transmission technology. With the developed so called Zero Inertia CVT, the fuel economy of the car is improved by operating the engine at its fuel optimal operating line. To achieve a good vehicle acceleration response, the flywheel assists the powertrain mechanically.
