불협화음의 종류가 인지간섭과 정서에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Dissonant Chord on Cognitive Interference and Emotion)

  • 음악의 요소 중 불협화음은 많은 연구 결과에 따라 불쾌를 일으킨다고 여겨져 왔지만, 불협화음의 종류에 따른 인지적 역할에 대해 살펴본 연구는 희소하다. 본 연구는 불협화음의 음정 간격에 따라 특정한 정서를 일으키는지, 인지 간섭에 영향을 주는지 알아보고자 두 가지 실험을 진행하였다. 실험 1에서는 불협화음의 종류에 따라 다른 부정적 정서가 느껴질 것이라고 예상하였다. 131명을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행한 결과 불협화음은 저 각성 부적정서 보다 고 각성 부적정서를 많이 일으켰다. 특히 장 7도의 음정이 다른 불협화음보다 무섭다는 응답이 유의하게 많았다. 실험 2에서는 불협화음의 불협화 정도에 따라 인지간섭에 차등적인 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 81명을 대상으로 색-단어 스트룹 과제를 실시한 결과 불협화음은 모두 소리가 없는 조건에서보다 응답 시간이 느렸고, 오답률 또한 높았다. 특히 단 2도는 실험에 사용된 불협화음 중 가장 느린 응답 시간을 나타냈다. 본 연구는 불협화음의 종류가 부적정서와 인지간섭에 유의한 영향을 주는 것을 보여주었다.

음장 재구성에 의한 관내 평균유속 측정 (Mean Flow Velocity Measurement Using the Sound Field Reconstruction)

  • This paper addresses a new technique of measuring the mean flow velocity over the cross sectional area of the pipe using sound field reconstruction. When fluid flows in the pipe and two plane waves propagate oppositely through the medium, the flow velocity causes the change of wave number of the plane waves. The wave number of the positive going plane wave decreases and that of negative going one increases in comparison to static medium in the pipe. Theoretical backgrounds of this method are introduced in detail and the measurement of mean flow velocity using the sound field reconstruction is not affected by velocity profile upstream of microphones.

랩스케일 브레이크 다이나모 메터를 이용한 패드각도 및 음의 기울기에 따른 스퀼 소음 실험 연구 (Squeal Test Using Lab-Scale Brake Dynamometer for Pad Angle and Negative-slope)

  • 본 연구에서는 회전속도, 브레이크 압력 제어가 가능한 브레이크 다이나모메타를 제작하여 스퀼 소음 실험을 실시하였다. 브레이크 패드는 각각 $34^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $26^{\circ}$로 가공하여 패드 각도에 따른 스퀼 발생 조건과 음의 기울기 발생에 따른 스퀼 연관성을 연구 하였다. 각도에 따라 특정한 회전속도와 브레이크 압력에서 스퀼이 발생하였으며, 각도에 상관없이 하모닉 성분을 가지는 특정 주파수 소음을 발견하였다. 햄머링 테스트 및 유한요소해석을 통해서 특정 주파수는 In-plane모드 성격을 갖고 있으며, 패드 각도에 둔감한 모드임을 밝혀냈다.

어류의 식이음과 그에 대한 주음반응 -농어.쥐치.검복- (The Spectrum of Feeding Sound and the Response of Seabass, Filefish and Swellfish.)

  • 식이음에 대한 어종의 반응행동을 조사하기 위하여 농어, 쥐치, 검복 등의 식이음을 녹음하여 이들의 주파수와 음압준위를 구하고 이들 식이음을 수조에 다시 방성하여 공시어들의 반응행동을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 농어, 쥐치, 검복의 식이음의 주파수범위는 각각 80~350 Hz, 100~300 Hz, 250~500 Hz이고, 음압 준위는 각각 101~108 dB, 102~112 dB이다. 2) 공시어에게 양의 주음반응을 일으키게 하는데는 측정음압보다 20 dB 정도 증가시켜 방성하는 것이 효과적 이였다. 3) 농어는 식이음에 대한 양의 주음반응이 강하나 쥐치와 검복은 약하다. 4) 공시어는 방성 후 5분까지는 양의 주음반응을 나타내나 5분 이후부터는 음의 주음반응으로 변하는 경향이 있다.

하지근력강화운동이 뇌성마비 아동의 균형과 보행에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of The Lower Extremity Muscle Strengthening Exercise on Walking and Balance of Children with Cerebral Palsy)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to ascertain the effects of the lower extremity muscle strengthening exercise on balance and ambulation of children with cerebral palsy. Methods: 10 subjects who participated in this research undertook the 12-week the lower extremity muscle strengthening exercise program, which consisted of a series of mat exercises and sling exercises. The statistical significances were examined by using Wilcoxon signed-rank test, a non-parametric test, for evaluating the improvement of balance and ambulation of the subjects. In order to evaluate the correlation among the variables, Pearson's correlation coefficients were also calculated. In all statistical analyses the significance level was selected as ${\alpha}$=0.05. Results: Berg balance scale(BBS) was significantly increased after the intervention(p<.05). Percentage weight bearing(PWB) was decreased after the intervention, but there was no significant difference. Time up and go test(TUG) value was significantly decreased(p<.05). Gait velocities was increased after the intervention, but there was no significance. Stride length, step lengths of the affected side and the sound side were significantly increased after the intervention(p<.05). In the correlation analyses of the measures before the intervention, TUG had significant negative correlation to BBS and gait velocity(p<.05). Stride length, step lengths of the sound side and the affected side had significant positive correlation between themselves(p<.01). In the correlation analyses of the measures after the intervention, TUG had significant negative correlation to BBS and gait velocity(p<.05). BBS revealed significant positive correlations to stride length, step lengths of the sound side and the affected side(p<.05). Stride length, step lengths of the sound side and the affected side had significant positive correlation between themselves(p<.01). Conclusion: Based upon the outcomes as above, it is likely that the muscle strength exercises have substantial effects on balance and ambulation of children with cerebral palsy. Thus various lower extremity muscle strengthening exercise programs are required to be studied and developed in order to contribute to functional improvements of children with cerebral palsy.

Psychological and Physiological Responses to the Rustling Sounds of Korean Traditional Silk Fabrics

  • The objectives of this study were to investigate physiological and psychological responses to the rustling sound of Korean traditional silk fabrics and to figure out objective measurements such as sound parameters and mechanical properties determining the human responses. Five different traditional silk fabrics were selected by cluster analysis and their sound characteristics were observed in terms of FFT spectra and some calculated sound parameters including level pressure of total sound (LPT), Zwicker's psychoacoustic parameters - loudness(Z), sharpness(Z), roughness(Z), and fluctuation strength(Z), and sound color factors such as ${\Delta}L\;and\;{\Delta}f$. As physiological signals, the ratio of low frequency to high frequency (LF/HF) from the power spectrum of heart rate variability, pulse volume (PV), heart rate (HR), and skin conductance level (SCL) evoked by the fabric sounds were measured from thirty participants. Also, seven aspects of psychological state including softness, loudness, sharpness, roughness, clearness, highness, and pleasantness were evaluated when each sound was presented. The traditional silk fabric sounds were likely to be felt as soft and pleasant rather than clear and high, which seemed to evoke less change of both LF/HF and SCL indicating a negative sensation than other fabrics previously reported. As fluctuation strength(Z) were higher and bending rigidity (B) values lower, the fabrics tended to be perceived as sounding softer, which resulted in increase of PV changes. The higher LPT was concerned with higher rating for subjective loudness so that HR was more increased. Also, compression linearity (LC) affected subjective pleasantness positively, which caused less changes of HR. Therefore, we concluded that such objective measurements as LPT, fluctuation strength(Z), bending rigidity (B), and compression linearity (LC) were significant factors affecting physiological and psychological responses to the sounds of Korean traditional silk fabrics.

프린터 음질평가를 위한 순음도 설계 (Tonality Design for Sound Quality Evaluation in Printer)

  • The operating sound radiated from a laser printer includes tonal noise components caused by the rotating mechanical parts such as gear, shaft, motor, fan, etc. The negative effects of the tonal noise components need to be considered in the process of developing a sound quality index for the quantitative evaluation of the emotional satisfaction in terms of psycho-acoustics. However, in a previous paper, it was confirmed that the Aures tonality did not have enough correlation with the results of jury evaluation. The sound quality index based on loudness, articulation index, fluctuation strength has a little problem in considering the effects of rotating mechanical parts on the sound quality. In this paper, to solve the tonality evaluation problem, the calculation algorithm of Aures tonality was investigated in detail to find the cause of decreasing the correlation. The new tonality evaluation model was proposed by modifying and optimizing the masking effect, loudness ratio, and shape of weighting curve based on the basic algorithm of Aures tonality, and applied to two kinds of operating sound groups in order to verify the usefulness of proposed model. As a result, it is confirmed that the proposed tonality evaluation model has enough correlation and usefulness for expressing the tonalness in the operating sounds of laser printers. In the following paper, this results will be used to model the sound quality index as the input data by using the classification algorithm.

나노웹을 이용한 라미네이트소재의 마찰음 특성 (Characteristics of Rustling Sound of Laminated Fabric Utilizing Nano-web)

  • This study examines the rustling sound characteristics of electrospun nanofiber web laminates according to layer structures. This study assesses mechanical properties and frictional sounds (such as SPL); in addition, Zwicker's psychoacoustic parameters (such as Loudness (Z), Sharpness (Z), Roughness (Z), and Fluctuation strength (Z)) were calculated using the Sound Quality Program (ver.3.2, B&K, Denmark). The result determined how to control these characteristics and minimize rustling sounds. A total of 3 specimens' frictional sound (generated at 0.63 m/s) was recorded using a Simulator for Frictional Sound of Fabrics (Korea Patent No. 10-2008-0105524) and SPLs were analyzed with a Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT). The mechanical properties of fabrics were measured with a KES-FB system. The SPL value of the sound spectrum showed 6.84~58.47dB at 0~17,500Hz. The SPL value was 61.2dB for the 2-layer PU nanofiber web laminates layered on densely woven PET(C1) and was the highest at 65.1dB for the 3-layer PU nanofiber web laminates (C3). Based on SPSS 18.0, it was shown that there is a correlation between mechanical properties and psychoacoustic characteristics. Tensile properties (LT), weight (T), and bending properties (2HB) showed a high correlation with psychoacoustic characteristics. Tensile linearity (LT) with Loudness (Z) showed a negative correlation coefficient; however, weight (T) with Sharpness (Z) and Roughness (Z), and bending hysteresis (2HB) with Roughness (Z) indicated positive correlation coefficients, respectively.

Dimension-Reduced Audio Spectrum Projection Features for Classifying Video Sound Clips

  • For audio indexing and targeted search of specific audio or corresponding visual contents, the MPEG-7 standard has adopted a sound classification framework, in which dimension-reduced Audio Spectrum Projection (ASP) features are used to train continuous hidden Markov models (HMMs) for classification of various sounds. The MPEG-7 employs Principal Component Analysis (PCA) or Independent Component Analysis (ICA) for the dimensional reduction. Other well-established techniques include Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF), Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) and Discrete Cosine Transformation (DCT). In this paper we compare the performance of different dimensional reduction methods with Gaussian mixture models (GMMs) and HMMs in the classifying video sound clips.

청감실험을 통한 고화질 TV set 소음평가에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the noise Rating of H.D. TV sets by Psycho-acoustic Experiments)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the proper vocabularies for evaluating H.D TV set fan noise in residential condition. To achieve this goal, psycho-acoustic experiments were carried out with TV set fan noise modulated at specific frequency band. finally, a correlation analysis between vocabularies, and a factor analysis of psycho-acoustical responses were conducted. As a result of this study, followings are suggested. Analyzing the psycho-acoustical response corresponding to the various sound level, the higher the sound levels, the higher the response values were. It is estimated that the sound level determined psycho-acoustical responses. On the degree of response to fan noise, the initial level of negative feeling is located on $35{\sim}40$ dB(A). The factor of evaluating H.D. TV set fan noise has induced three the appropriate korean adjectives; Irritate, Monotonous, stuffy and dryness. The result of this study may be used to evaluate the acoustic threshold level for indoor noise or a basis for specifying the desired acoustic environment of dwellings.
