The article discusses an issue of estimating the airspeed of an autonomous flying vehicle. Airspeed is the difference between ground speed and wind speed. It is desirable to know any two among the three speeds for navigation, guidance and control of an autonomous vehicle. For example, ground speed and position are used to guide a vehicle to a target point and wind speed and airspeed are used to maximize flight performance such as a gliding range. However, the target vehicle has not an airspeed sensor but a ground speed sensor (GPS/INS). So airspeed or wind speed has to be estimated. Here, airspeed is to be estimated. A vehicle's dynamics and its dynamic parameters are used to estimate airspeed with attitude and angular speed measurements. Kalman filter is used for the estimation. There are also two major sources arousing a robust estimation problem; wind speed and altitude. Wind speed and direction depend on weather conditions. Altitude changes as a vehicle glides down to the ground. For one reference altitude, multiple model Kalman filters are pre-designed based on several reference airspeeds. We call this group of filters as a cluster. Filters of a cluster are activated simultaneously and probabilities are calculated for each filter. The probability indicates how much a filter matches with measurements. The final airspeed estimate is calculated by summing all estimates multiplied by probabilities. As a vehicle glides down to the ground, other clusters that have been designed based on other reference altitudes are activated. Some numerical simulations verify that the proposed method is effective to estimate airspeed.

The coordination control of multiple Underactuated Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) moving in three dimensional space is investigated in this paper. The coordinated path following control task is decomposed into two sub tasks, that is, path following control and coordination control. In the spatial curve path following control task, path following error dynamics is build in the Serret-Frenet coordinate frame. The virtual reference object can be chosen freely on the desired spatial path. Considering the speed of the UUV, the line-of-sight navigation is introduced to help the path following errors quickly converge to zero. In the coordination control sub task, the communication topology of multiple UUVs is described by the graph theory. The speed of each UUV is adjusted to achieve the coordination. The path following system and the coordination control system are viewed as the feedback connection system. Input-to-state stable of the coordinated path following system can be proved by small gain theorem. The simulation experiments can further demonstrate the good performance of the control method.

To obtain the system requirement specification in the beginning of the precision guidance and control system development, the effectiveness and reliability analysis for the system are necessary. The main purpose of this research is to obtain the system requirement specification by carrying out the effectiveness analysis using the modeling and simulation(M&S) scheme. M&S model is constructed using 6-DOF dynamic model, environment model, guidanc -navigation & control model. Assume that the navigation sensor is consist of inertial navigation sensor(INS) and doppler velocity log(DVL), and the speed and direction of current is environment parameter. The effectiveness analysis is carried out using circular error probability(CEP) and variance analyze scheme. Also, the effectiveness analysis is utilized for cost-performance analysis considering the cost of commercial INS and DVL sensor. This paper shows the high-level INS and the low-level DVL configure a high price-performance integrated navigation system.

A rudder roll control system is developed and analyzed to control the yawing and rolling motion of ship in irregular waves. The 4-DOF maneuvering equations of motion are derived to carry out the simulation of the motion of a ship and the wave forces are considered as the external forces of a ship in the simulation. The wave forces in the time domain analysis are generated from the frequency transfer function calculated by 3-D source distribution method. The rudder roll control system is developed by linear combination of PD rudder controllers of yawing and rolling motion. Rudder rate speed and Schilling rudder are considered to increase the roll reduction efficiency.

The purpose of this paper is to establish development concepts for a novel collision avoidance system with preventing function of navigator's human error (Hu-CAS) in ship control behaviors. Hu-CAS consists of four modules: 1) collision risk assessment module to estimate collision priority between the ship and objects, 2) decision-making module to decide collision risk levels, 3) parameter estimation module needed in the ship control to avoid collisions and 4) control system to control the rudder angle and speed. Hu-CAS, proposed in this paper, can provide a novel system substitution current Autopilot and/or a CAS be teen manned vessel and Autonomous ship in a future.

This research presents an A* based algorithm which can be applied to Unmanned Ground Vehicle self-navigation in order to make the driving path smoother. Based on the grid map, A* algorithm generated the path by using straight lines. However, in this situation, the knee points, which are the connection points when vehicle changed orientation, are created. These points make Unmanned Ground Vehicle continuous navigation unsuitable. Therefore, in this paper, B-spline curve function is applied to transform the path transfer into curve type. And because the location of the control point has influenced the B-spline curve, the optimal control selection algorithm is proposed. Also, the optimal path tracking speed can be calculated through the curvature radius of the B-spline curve. Finally, based on this algorithm, a path created program is applied to the path results of the A* algorithm and this B-spline curve algorithm. After that, the final path results are compared through the simulation.
Recently, an automatic crane control system is required with high speed and rapid transportation. Therefore, when container is transferred from th intial coordinate to the finial coordinate, the container paths should be built in terms of the least time and no swing. So in this paper, we calculated the anti-collision path for avoiding collision in its movement to the finial coordinate. And we constructed the neural network predictive PID (NNPPID) controller to control the precise navigation. The proposed predictive control system is composed of the neural network predictor, PID controller, neural network self-tuner which yields parameters of PID. Analyzed crane system through simulation, and proved excellency of control performance than other conventional controllers.
The automation of agricultural machines is an irreversible trend considering the demand for improved productivity and lack of labor in handling agricultural tasks. Unstructured working environments and weather often inhibit a seemingly simple task from being fully autonomously performed. In this context, we propose a remote driving system (RDS) to aid agricultural machines designed to operate autonomously. Particularly, we modify a commercial speed sprayer for orchard environments into a robotic speed sprayer to evaluate the proposed RDS's usability and test three sensor configurations in terms of human performance. Furthermore, we propose a confidence error ellipsebased task performance measure to evaluate human performance. In addition, we present field experimental results describing how the sensor configurations affect human performance. We find that a combination of a semiautonomous line tracking device and a wide-angle camera is the most effective for spraying. Finally, we discuss how to improve the proposed RDS in terms of usability and obtain a more accurate measure of human performance.

The Japanese developed the first Car navigation system in 1981 with the advent of Honda, which was known as the car inertial navigation system. Now days, It is possible to search the shortest route to and from places and arrival time using the internet via cell phone to the driver based on GIS and GPS. However, even with a good navigation system, it losses the shortest route when there is an average speed of the vehicle being between S-15 kilometers. Therefore, in order to improve the vehicle waiting time and average vehicle speed, we are suggesting an optimal green time algorithm using fuzzy adaptive control, where there are different traffic intersection lengths, and lanes. In this paper, to be able to assist the driver and forecast the optimal traffic information with regards to the road conditions; dangerous roads, construction work and estimation of arrival time at their destination using internet.
