몰수체의 CPMC 구속모형시험 (Captive Model Test of Submerged Body Using CPMC)

  • The captive model test of submerged body using CPMC(Computerized Planar Motion Carriage) was carried out at the Ocean Basin of KORDI/MOERI. The target model is a submarine with general hullform. The forces and moments acting on the submerged body were measured by 6-axis waterproof gage. The oblique motion test and turning test were carried out in horizontal and vertical planes of the model. Maneuvering coefficients and derivatives were obtained from the test results. The stability indices in horizontal and vertical planes were obtained by using maneuvering derivatives. In this paper the introduction of test equipment and test results are presented.

Crowhurst-Zhenquan 방법을 이용한 1차원 Madsen-Sørensen 확장형 Boussinesq 방정식의 수치 시뮬레이션 (Numerical Simulation of One-Dimensional Madsen-Sørensen Extended Boussinesq Equations Using Crowhurst-Zhenquan Scheme)

  • The aim of this paper is to apply the Crowhurst-Zhenquan scheme to one-dimensional Madsen-Sørensen extended Boussinesq equations. In order to verify the application of the aforementioned scheme, the propagation of solitary waves was simulated for two different cases of submarine topography; e.g., a plane beach and submerged breakwater. The simulated results are compared to the results of recent studies and show favorable agreement. The behavior of progressive waves is also investigated.

Modeling of internal wave generation near a shelf slope by ocean finite element method

  • The 3-D modeling of ocean finite element method(OFEM) using $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulent model and tetrahedron grids has been used to investigate the internal wave generation during the expansion of the deep water from the open sea to the shelf with a simple shape, which can be widely used in the fields of submarine development, ocean environment and meteorology, etc. In this paper, the detailed configuration of internal wave with its length and height and also the distribution of salinity and turbulent kinematic energy, etc. were derived. It is hoped that this OFEM method can be successfully applied to the numerical calculation of internal wave for and the oceanographic problems (tidal flows around underwater hill, plateau, Georges Bank, etc.) and ocean engineering problems(flow past artificial sea reefs) in future.

수중함의 함미타 효율추정을 위한 수학모델링에 관한 연구 (A Research on the Mathematical Modeling for the Estimation of Underwater Vehicle's Tail Plane Efficiency)

  • The ratio between the hydrodynamic force produced by a submarine tau appendage and that acting on an equivalent appendage in isolation is regarded as tail plane efficiency. It is an important parameter in numerical simulations because it has a significant effect on predicted stability, controllability, and maneuverability. The paper introduces some recent work to improve the reliability and general applicability of current methods of tail plane efficiency estimation.

수중함의 긴급기동 해석을 위한 유체력계수 모델링에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Modeling of Hydrodynamic Coefficient for the Emergency Maneuver Simulation of Underwater Vehicle)

  • This paper describes a hydrodynamic modelling study based on the Feldman's equation to predict the nonlinear and coupled maneuvering characteristics of high speed submarine. The hydrodynamic coefficients set is obtained from the modeling of the cross flow drag force and sail induced vorticity, and the captive model experiments(VPMM and RA test) results used to improved the accuracy. The results contained in this paper will be helpful to predict the behavior of tight turn maneuver and to improve the SOE(Safety Operational Envelope) analysis in case of emergency maneuver.

  • This paper examines the types and trends of North Korea's military provocations and regional maritime threats against South Korea, and is focusing on the Republic of Korea's naval development and modernizations by the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) on future actions, what directions of the ROKN has taken thus far in response, as well as an examination of how the ROKN might respond to vulnerabilities identified throughout modern history. Importantly, this paper does not consider the domestic, bilateral, multilateral, regional and global political dimensions of the situation on the Korean Peninsula; nor does it consider the North Korea's transitional power politics, but including North Korea's nuclear program and submarine-launched ballistic missile developments, as a caveat, this paper is based on open sources in Korean and English language, and thus information concerning provocations is indicative only.

임의 λ에 대한 근사해 B(ξ)를 이용한 잠수함 난류항적 특성 연구 (Characteristics of Submarine's Turbulent Wake using Analytical Solution of B(ξ) for the given λ)

  • 다양한 ${\lambda}$에 대한 근사적 $B({\xi})$를 이용한 잠수함 난류항적의 특성은 대략 ${\xi}{\approx}0.6$근처에서 $B({\xi}){\approx}{\frac{B({\xi})_{max}}{2}}$, 그리고 ${{\int}_{0}^{{\approx}0.6}}B({\xi})d{\xi}{\approx}0.85{{\int}_{0}^{1}}B({\xi})d{\xi}$인 것으로 나타났다. 본 논문의 전제인 에너지 준 평형상태에 따라 잠수함 난류항적을 기술하는데 $4{\leq}{\lambda}{\leq}8$${\lambda}$가 현실에 보다 부합하였으며, ${\lambda}$는 난류항적 에너지 분포와 반지름, 최대 탐지 거리에 영향을 미치고 있고, 함의 속도는 난류항적의 모양보다는 지속시간에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 극한 경우로 만약 $7{\leq}{\lambda}{\leq}8$이라면 서해에서는 잠수함의 난류항적이 수면에서 관찰될 것으로 판단되나 동해에서는 snorkel을 한 잠수함의 신호를 파악하는 데 사용될 수 있다.

전투체계를 위한 표적 및 주변소음 모델링을 통한 어뢰소나 표적탐지 시뮬레이션 연구 (A Study on the Torpedo Sonar Simulation for Combat System by Modeling Target and Noise)

  • In environment of torpedo firing, underwater acoustic signal is generated by target and noise. Sound wave which is generated from acoustic signal is propagated by seawater and it is received through the sonar(sound navigation and ranging) system mounted on torpedo. In the ocean, acoustic signal or sound wave from target that is generated by the spread of broadband can be attenuated by ambient noise and can be lost by medium and environment. This research is designed to support teamwork training in Naval operations by constructing a simulation system that is more similar to the real-world conditions. This paper attempts to research the modeling of target detection and to develop the simulation of torpedo sonar(TOSO). In order to develop the realistic simulation, we researched the broadband sound modeling of target and noise source, the modeling of acoustic transmission loss by chemical component of seawater, and the modeling of signal attenuation by ambient noise environment which is approximated by experimental measurements in seawater surrounding the Korea Peninsular and by experience of Navy's actual torpedo firing. This research contributed to constructing more practical simulation of torpedo firing in real time and the results of this research were used to develop a teamwork training system for the Navy and their education.

잠수함 기본설계를 위한 SE 기반 시스템 아키텍처 프로세스 (An SE-Based System Architecture Process for Submarine's Basic Design)

  • 함정은 일반성능, 특수성능, 탑재장비 성능과 관련된 수많은 요구사항이 있으며, 장기간에 걸친 설계 및 건조기간 동안 요구사항은 각 시스템에 반영되고 구현되어야 한다. 요구사항은 설계기간 동안 작성되는 도면, 보고서, 제안요청서, 사양서 등 다양한 문서들을 통해 구체화 된다. 그러나 함정과 같은 복합시스템의 경우 이런 산출물을 통해 요구사항 추적성을 유지하며 요구사항을 관리하는 것에 많은 어려움이 따른다. 함정의 설계 및 건조기술은 오랜 역사 속에 발전되어 왔기 때문에 기존의 문서기반 설계 방식에 익숙하지만, 각종 설계 산출물과 요구사항, 그리고 시스템의 기능, 물리 아키텍처 간 추적성 관리는 어려움이 있다. 함정의 기본설계는 함정 제원 및 성능, 탑재장비 선정 및 배치, 연동 등을 확정하는 중요한 단계이며 시스템 아키텍처 설계 구현을 위한 구체적인 적용 방법 연구를 통해 변화가 요구된다. 따라서 함정 기본설계 단계에 적합한 요구사항 설계 적용을 위한 시스템 아키텍처 설계 방법 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 요구사항으로 부터 시스템 아키텍처 설계를 수행하고 SE 기반 기술검토 프로세스를 통해 확인하는 방법을 연구하였다. 잠수함 시스템 아키텍처 설계를 위해 요구사항 분석, 아키텍처 설계, 설계 실행 및 통합의 각 단계별 세부 수행사항과 내용을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 효과적인 시스템 요구사항 개발 및 아키텍처 설계가 가능하였으며, 단계별 추적성 관리, 요구사항의 확인 측면에서 효과적임을 확인하였다. 향후 잠수함을 비롯한 다양한 함정에 제시한 프로세스 적용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

수중표적에 대한 고주파수 음향산란 해석 (High Frequency Acoustic Scattering Analysis of Underwater Target)

  • A mono-static high frequency acoustic target strength analysis scheme was developed for underwater targets, based on the far-field Kirchhoff approximation. Au adaptive triangular beam method and a concept of virtual surface were adopted for considering the effect of hidden surfaces and multiple reflections of an underwater target, respectively. A test of a simple target showed that the suggested hidden surface removal scheme is valid. Then some numerical analyses, for several underwater targets, were carried out; (1) for several simple underwater targets, like sphere, square plate, cylinder, trihedral corner reflector, and (2) for a generic submarine model, The former was exactly coincident with the theoretical results including beam patterns versus azimuth angles, and the latter suggested that multiple reflections have to be considered to estimate more accurate target strength of underwater targets.
