함정 전투체계 함상시험을 위한 지원장비 설계 및 검증 연구 (A Study on the Design and Verification-Validation of the Supportive Equipment for Shipyard Test of Naval Combat System)

  • The Shipyard Test of Naval Combat System depends on external factors, such as weather conditions and availability of its sensor-weapon, due to the need of on-board sensor-weapon during the test. This paper suggests the Supportive Equipment using virtual simulator for Shipward Test, in case of the unavailability of the on-board sensor-weapon or the test support force(aircraft, surface ship etc.), to pre-check the functions of the combat system as well as to prepare the Shipyard Test. To mock the real sensor-weapon functions as similar as possible, the Supportive Equipment for Shipyard Test was verified by the Verification and Validation process, which is usually performed while developing models in the Modeling & Simulation field.

  • 본 논문에서는 보안성과 안정성을 유지하면서 함정 전투관리체계의 생존성을 향상시키는 체계접근통제 소프트웨어를 제안한다. 함정 전투관리체계를 구성하는 체계접근통제 소프트웨어의 운용 환경 구성 및 사용자 인증 프로세스 개선, 함정 전투관리체계 운용 환경 분류 정의, 부하율을 고려한 소프트웨어 병렬 실행 프로세스를 적용하여 체계접근통제 소프트웨어를 개선하였다. 이를 통해, 환경 구성에 필요한 대기시간을 단축하여 운용자에게 신속한 운용을 제공하고, 긴급한 상황 속에서도 환경 구성이 완료되지 않으면 함정 전투관리체계를 운용할 수 없는 점을 개선하고자 한다. 그리고 성능을 시험하기 위해 기존 함정전투관리체계를 모의하여 시험환경을 구성하였으며, 운용 분류 별 실행시간을 측정하여 비교하였다. 기존 함정 전투관리체계 대비 기본 전투관리체계 실행시간은 약 69.3% 감소하였으며, 교전 전투관리체계 실행시간은 약 54.9% 감소하였으며, 통합 전투관리체계 실행시간은 약 8.4% 감소하였음을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, we propose a new scalable and reliable combat system software in battleship which was developed procedurally in the past. Recently, combat system software is required to change frequently due to addition of new equipment and change of function. To solve those problems, this paper propose how to change combat system software into scalable software using class structure change and design pattern. Simulation results show that our scheme provides better performances and reliability than conventional scheme. Therefore proposed scheme can be efficiently used in Naval combat system.

  • System integration is an important element for the construction of naval combat ships. In particular, because impeccable combat system integration together with the sensors and weapons can ensure the combat capability and survivability of the ship, the integrated performance of the combat system should be verified and validated whether or not it fulfills the requirements of the end user. In order to conduct systematic verification and validation, a data analysis tool is requisite. This paper suggests the Data Extraction, Recording and Analysis Tool (DERAT) for the data analysis of the integrated performance of the combat system, including the functional definition, architecture and effectiveness of the DERAT by presenting the test results.

  • In the existing naval combat system, integrated management is done based on subsystems that make up the system. The naval combat system, however, is a large-scale distributed system made up of subsystems of diverse heterogeneous environments. Although each of the subsystems can be easily managed because they are on the same platform, it is extremely difficult to integrate and manage as a single entity all subsystems that make up the naval combat system because the heterogeneous environments and distributed systems have to be taken into account. In fact, there hasn't been a technique available to integrate and manage subsystems that make up the naval combat system, until now. In this paper, the architecture of an integrated management system is designed and implemented to provide the user with various services. Furthermore, a system that can manage subsystems of the naval combat system in an integrated way is developed.

  • A naval combat system is the system of systems who supports naval indigenous operations by integrating and inter-operating many different kind of weapons, which has characteristics of large scale complex computing system. ROK Navy has been built a blue ocean navy, so that large scale warships are under constructions. However, warship combat system architecture has not been well studied so far in Korea. The paper focuses on current combat system architecture and propose the next generation combat system architecture, which will give the development direction of ROK Navy. In order to complete combat system architecture studies, the system engineering process shall be applied to the study. Moreover, ARENA simulation tool is used for verification of combat system architecture. The system engineering process is as follows: next-generation naval combat system requirement analysis, functional architecture analysis and physical architecture analysis.

  • A combat system for navy's battleship is a system of systems who supports naval indigenous operations by integrating and inter-operating many different kind of weapon and non-weapon systems, which has characteristics of large-scale complex computing system. This paper considers a characteristics of naval combat system which has been developed by domestic technology and suggests a way to improve future naval combat system in terms of computing architecture by applying commercial real-time operating system technologies. This paper also provides an evaluation criteria for combat system adaptability of real-time operating systems.

  • This paper is concerned with a track management method for a naval combat system which receives the tracks information from multi-sensors and multi-tactical datalinks. Since the track management of processing the track information from diverse sources can be formulated as a data fusion problem, this paper will deal with the data fusion architecture, track association and track information determination algorithm for the track management of naval combat systems.

  • The SONAR waterfall image(SWI) is used typically to target detection in SONAR operation and is managed with additional data linked in the naval combat system. The SWI and additional data are very important to classify a kind of target. Although additional data of the SWI is essential and must be kept together with the SWI, it was stored separately in the current system. In this paper, we propose an improved information management method in the naval combat system, where additional data can be contained in the SWI together by using information hiding techniques. The experimental results show that the effectiveness of information hiding techniques in the naval combat system. It is demonstrated that the information hiding techniques can be applied to the SWI that can make the naval combat system to be robust and secure.

  • 함정 전투체계에는 레이더 장비, 수중센서 장비, 함포 및 미사일 제어용 무장통제 장비들과 같이 체계를 운용하기 위해 필요한 여러 장비들과 이를 통제하기 위한 다기능콘솔이 구성되어 있다. 다기능 콘솔에는 장비들의 상태정보 전시 및 장비들을 통제하기 위한 HCI 기반의 소프트웨어가 탑재되어 있고, 운용자는 탑재된 소프트웨어를 활용하여 함정 전투체계를 운용한다. 하지만 함정 전투체계를 장시간 운용함에 있어 다기능콘솔 전시기의 구조로 인한 신체적 불편함, 다양하고 복잡한 HCI 구성으로 인한 운용자의 피로도 증가 등 문제점들이 발생하고 있다. 이러한 문제점들은 함정 전투체계 운용성을 저하시키는 중요한 요인이 된다. 이를 해결하기 위해, 본 논문에서는 함정 전투체계 개발자들을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 바탕으로 신체적 불편함을 줄일 수 있는 다기능콘솔 전시기 구조 설계와 운용자의 피로도를 줄일 수 있는 직관적인 HCI 설계 방안을 제안한다. 이로 인해, 향후 함정 전투체계 운용자들에게 편의성을 제공하여 기존 함정 전투체계보다 운용성을 향상 시킬 수 있는 장점을 가진다.
