  • The purpose of Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is an integral component of decisions on proposed plans, projects, and actions. Adapted from the National Environmental Policy Act(NEPA, 1969) environmental impact statement in Korea has aimed to analyse and prepare the mitigation in the process of big scale development and major industrial planning. During the past 19 years EIS has played the central role for the environmental issues in the process of economic development. Nevertheless EIS act needs some modification in the system as well as in the contents of evaluation process. EIS should be served as decision-making process by assessing environmental issues in the beginning stage of proposed actions. Other consideration was suggested to make EIS system better used for environment conservation.

The basic laws of industrial enterprises are formed, which determined the characteristics of competitive positions and threats. The basic competitive concepts and their application at maintenance of economic safety of the industrial enterprises in the conditions of formation of circular economy are described. Thus, the technological approach to the formation of a competitive paradigm is based on production technologies, opportunities for technological modernization and development of infrastructure and intellectual competencies. The institutional concept reveals the regulatory mechanisms for ensuring competitiveness through the protectionism of national industrial enterprises, standardization and regulation of market imbalances. The innovation-investment approach within the competitive paradigm is also manifested in the creation of competitive advantages due to the presence of active innovative developments and their commercialization, knowledge and competencies of staff, capitalization of intelligence and communications, constant updating of infrastructure and technologies. Collectively, innovation and investment effects on the level of economic security allow industrial enterprises to ensure resilience to increasing competition, the emergence of new market challenges in the formation of a circular economy. A strategic approach to the application of a competitive paradigm to ensure the economic security of industrial enterprises allows you to justify the prospects for development and design behavioral models to predict and assess potential threats. The concept of system management is based on the complexity of threat analysis, the integrity of the economic security system, system-forming functions and patterns of implementation of industrial development tasks in the formation of a circular economy. The application of the described concepts is formalized by the authors through the definition of the basic patterns, directions and characteristics of their impact on the elements of the security system of industrial enterprises in the formation of a circular economy.

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the influence of local residents' nature environment attitudes for National Park development impact perceptions and to examine application possibility of nature environment attitude for resolution information of National Park management conflicts. Thirty items of residents' perceptions and opinions were designed from previous tourism impact studies. The new environmental paradigm(NEP) was used to measure local residents' nature environment attitudes. In April, 2003, 239 questionnaires were obtained from interview survey in local residents' villages near Gyearyongsan National Park. Generally, most of the local residents perceived low economic effects and negative environment impacts for National Park development. Nature environment attitudes levels were significant differences with socioeconomic variables of local residents, specially high in age, education level and influenced their perceptions toward National Park development impacts. The results were suggested that the nature environment attitudes could be provided a useful reverential framework in resolution of National Park management conflicts.

  • For twenty years, in the EU there has been a trend of a lack of maritime infrastructure and a redundance of the road one, which has a negative impact on the economy. The intermodal transport market structure in the EU has not changed over the past ten years. The stability of transport systems due to the lack of changes in the transport market remains under threat, affecting supply chains and networks through the optimization of warehousing and transportation costs. The research methodology is based on a quantitative assessment of cause-and-effect relations between economic growth and transport and logistics in the EU. A statistical analysis of security indicators, intermodal and modal transport, international trade in goods within the EU and in the world trade in goods, the dynamics of GDP of the EU countries, the level of openness of the EU economy, investment and maintenance costs of different modes of transport and infrastructure has been carried out. The results show that in 2000- 2010 there were positive changes in the transport and logistics infrastructure of the EU, which had a positive effect on trade, openness of the economy of the EU, GDP growth. However, at that time, negative effects of environmental impact and the load on road and rail transport were accumulating. Investment in different modes of transport is limited, and technical maintenance and infrastructure maintenance costs form a significant part of GDP of the EU. A slowdown in economic growth leads to budget constraints and infrastructure financing gap. As a result, the freight and passenger intermodal and modal transport market structure remains virtually unchanged. The load on rail and road transport remains stable, despite the reduced level of transport hazards. Transport productivity has declined over the past ten years. Herewith, the intensification of trade and the openness of the EU economies require constant modernization and innovative renewal. The EU policy in this direction remains normative, uncontrolled, which is reflected in investment differences within the EU and maintenance costs.

  • After 'Zhou Chuchu (走出去, Go global)' in the early 2000s, and with the 'One-to-One Road' initiative in 2012, China's Overseas Foreign Direct Investment (OFDI) has increased significantly, resulting in high academic interest. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of national risks of home country on China's OFDI by using data from 49 countries along the 'One-to-One Road' between 2007 and 2018, and to compare the factors of national risks that attract investment from the world. As a result of the study, market economy companies' perceptions of national risks are mostly negative, so risk acts as a deterrent to investment. On the other hand, national risks of home countries have had positive effects on China's OFDI, which would mean that Chinese investors, mostly state-owned enterprises have a high tendency to invest in regions or countries with high national risks. Other economic factors, such as the size of the investment partner country's market, GNI per capita, and trade openness, had a positive (+) effect, and natural resources had a negative (-) effect on China's OFDI. As dummy variables, FTA, which is an economic and diplomatic factor, SCO, which is a political and diplomatic factor, and bordering which is a geographical factor, were also found to have a positive (+) effect. This study implies the investment pattern of China's OFDI is due to the characteristics of China's unique geopolitical and economic system, and it is judged to be influenced by political and strategic factors, especially the aspects led by state-owned enterprises.

  • The research aims to investigate the impact levels of determinants on the conversion of financial statements from Vietnamese accounting standards (VAS) to International financial reporting standards (IFRS) in the multinational firms in Vietnam. The method of data collection was done through the survey and subjects are accountants in Multinational Firms doing business in Hanoi and ten neighboring provinces. After checking the information on the votes, there are 170 questionnaires with full information for data entry and analysis. We use Cronbach's Alpha, EFA analysis and run regression model to investigate the impact levels of each independent variable on dependent variable of the conversion of VAS financial statements to IFRS. The results show that five determinants including Economic, Politics, Law, Culture, and Conditions for implementation have positive relationships with the conversion of VAS financial statements to IFRS. In particular, Economic determinant is the most strongest. Based on the findings, some recommendations are given for improving the conversion of VAS financial statements to IFRS of multinational firms doing business in the context of Vietnam. The results are considered a useful reference for firms when making financial statements to transparently change the financial statement information and improve the quality of financial statement information.
