Optimal Video Streaming Based on Delivery Information Sharing in Hybrid CDN/P2P Architecture

  • In this paper, we propose an optimal streaming service method based on Hybrid CDN/P2P architecture. Recently, video streaming utilizes a CDN (Content Delivery Network) operation technique based on a Proxy Server, which is an end node located close to a user. However, since CDN has a fixed network traffic bandwidth and data information exchange among CDNs in the network is not smooth, it is difficult to guarantee traffic congestion and quality of image service. In the hybrid CDN/P2P network, a data selection technique is used to select only the data that is expected to be continuously requested among all the data in order to guarantee the QoS of the user who utilizes the limited bandwidth efficiently. In order to search user requested data, this technique effectively retrieves the storage information of the constituent nodes of CDN and P2P, and stores the new image information and calculates the deletion priority based on the request possibility as needed. Therefore, the streaming service scheme proposed in this paper can effectively improve the quality of the video streaming service on the network.

국가R&D보고서 참고문헌 기술항목 구축 개선방안 연구 (A Study on National R&D Report Reference Technological Improvement)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 한국과학기술정보연구원(이하 KISTI)에서 구축한 국가R&D보고서 데이터베이스의 참고문헌 데이터를 분석하여, 문제점을 도출하고 시스템 상의 구축 기술항목의 보완점을 찾는 것이다. 이를 위하여 KISTI DB에 등록된 국가R&D보고서의 참고문헌 기술 현황을 조사하고 현재 구축과정 및 지침, 유형, 항목 등의 구분의 작성 내용을 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 DB로 구축한 참고문헌 유형의 구분 결과에 대하여 적절성 및 정확성을 확인하였다. 그 결과 시스템으로 구축한 항목의 문제점과 구축 지침의 수정사항을 도출하였다. 이를 통해 데이터베이스 구축이 효율적으로 진행되도록 시스템 변경사항을 도출하여 데이터 품질이 향상될 것으로 기대된다. 또한 기술규정 표준화를 통하여 향후 제공할 수 있는 융합 서비스 방안에 대하여 후속 연구를 제안하였다.

위성망 이중화를 위한 국내 강우율 공간분포 분석 (Analysis of Spatial Distributions of Rainfall Rate for Satellite Site Diversity in Korea)

  • 본 논문에서는 한반도 지역 내에서 안정적인 위성통신 서비스를 위한 최적의 망 이중화 지점을 제안한다. 이를 위해 기상청에서 측정한 88개 지점, 5년간의 강우량 데이터를 분석하였으며, 상관관계를 이용하여 두 지점간 강우가 동시에 발생할 확률 변화를 분석하였다. 국내 위성통신 관련 4개 주요 지점을 중심으로 강우 발생 상관도 변화를 등고선 맵으로 분석하였으며, 송신 지구국 이중화 지점으로 가장 적합한 지점/지역에 대한 정보를 제안하였다.

  • 현재 우리는 사회, 문화, 정치, 경제, 기술에 있어 국가 간의 경계가 무너지는 글로벌화와 다 분야 기술의 컨버전스 및 이종 서비스의 융합이 광범위하게 진행되는 시대에 살고 있고, 이러한 변화의 물결은 지식과 정보 사회를 넘어서 스마트 사회로의 진입을 재촉하고 있다. 과거에는 방대한 양의 지식과 정보를 생성하고, 가공하며, 축적하는 것에 집중했다면, 현재 사회는 이러한 축적된 지식과 정보를 시공간의 제약 없이, 보다 지능적이면서, 저렴하게, 융합된 형태로 제공될 수 있기를 기대하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스마트서비스의 개념과 다양한 사례를 살펴보고 지식 정보사회의 서비스 통합 패러다임을고려하여스마트서비스 제공을 위한 플랫폼으로서의 구현요소와 서비스플랫폼 현황분석, 관련기관별 주요역할, 구현요소확보방안 등 스마트 플랫폼 구현전략을 제시하였다.

국내외 기상 관련 웹사이트의 건강정보서비스 평가분석 (Evaluation of Health Information Service on the Internal and External Weather Agency Web sites)

  • The service of health information was provided through internal and external weather agency web sites. The purpose of this study was to analyze current status of the weather agency web sites dealing with health information in the internet, and to evaluate their contents and technical aspects. The evaluation tool consisted of five area (appropriateness, accessibility, supportiveness, feedback, and continuance) with nineteen items. For the public confidence, web sites were limited to national meteorological administration and representative weather agencies. The evaluating web sites were fourteen from eight countries. The evaluation scores of fourteen web sites were 37.8 out of 53.0 in total. Each subcategory score were 5-12 out of 12 in appropriate, 4-12 out of 12 in accessibility, 4-10 out of 11 in supportiveness, 2-8 out of 9 in feedback, and 2-8 out of 9 in continuance. The score of feedback was the lowest. Survey results indicated that Korean Meteorological Administration homepage was middle status compared with the others in side of depth of health information and feedback from expert. Climate change affect human health, so it will be possible to prevent some disease at first through climate information. It should be developed to provide high quality health information and system related climate on KMA homepage.

  • Societies are important sources of new information for users. However, most of these societies still rely on traditional, or rather ancient methods for gathering and servicing the information. Furthermore, most of the societies are trying to electrify processes such as managing members and paper submission as well as the process managing the information for service but are limited due to financial and technical reasons. Therefore, KISTI(Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information) has developed the ${\ulcorner}$KISTl-ACOMS (KISTI-Article Contribution Management System)${\lrcorner}$ as part of the national project for automating the process of processing academic information by societies, in order to convert journals published by academic societies in Korea into an electronic form and make them accessible on the Internet. This system has been developed in the year 2001 and has since been distributed to societies free of charge. The number of societies requesting the service has risen recently, which prompted us to take more recommendations of the societies that adopt this system into account in expanding and standardizing the area of service being provided by the system.

Web-based Information Management for Korean Traditional Building Materials

  • Traditional methods and materials used for Korean buildings need to be well organized and managed so that they can be utilized in modernization of old buildings. Supporting web-based management of information of Korean traditional building materials helps spread the related knowledge. This paper identifies the characteristics of traditional building materials data, and develops an information structure to represent the related information effectively. It also describes design decisions on web-based user interfaces to support flexible browsing and retrieval of the managed data. As the traditional building data are described by old domain-specific technical terms, utility of the developed service might be limited to those who are familiar with the terms. As an approach to tackle this problem, the proposed system supports user tagging by allowing users to classify the stored information using their own terms, and also to retrieve data using the user-supplied tags.

지상파 DMB를 위한 통합 이동 측정 시스템 개발 (The Development of Integrated Mobile Measurement System for Terrestrial DMB)

  • 국내의 디지털 오디오 방송 방식으로 잠정 결정되었던 유럽의 Eureka-147 DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting)가 기술적으로 취약한 지상과 DTV의 이동수신 영역을 보완하기 위하여 종합 멀티미디어 방송인 DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting)로 진화하였다. 지상파 DMB (T-DMB)에 비디오 서비스를 도입함에 따라 이에 대한 가능성을 검증하기 위하여 정보통신부 국책과제인 '지상파 DMB 동영상 실험방송'이 실시되었다. 과제의 주요 목적은 T-DMB 방송망 구축 및 송수신 장비의 개발에 필요한 유효전계강노와 비디오 서비스 방송구역을 산정하는 것이다. 디지털 방송의 경우 송신기의 커버리지와 수신 품질을 조사하기 위해서는 비트오류율 (BER : Bit Error Rate)과 전계강도의 측정이 필수적이다. 본 논문은 T-DMB를 위한 통합 이동 측정 시스템 개발에 관한 것이다. 이를 위하여 비트오류율 측정을 위한 효율적인 데이터 구조와 알고리듬을 제안하였다. 이에 따라 구현된 비트오류율 측정부에 전계강도 측정부와 GPS (Global Positioning System) 수신부를 추가하여 통합 이동 측정 시스템을 완성하였고, 실험과 필드 테스트를 통해 검증하였다. 개발된 통합 이동 측정 시스템은 '지상과 DMB 동영상 실험방송 과제'에 사용되었으며, 측정결과는 T-DMB 방송망 구축을 위한 기본 자료로 사용될 예정이다.

Factors Affecting User's Repurchase Intention towards Chinese Internet Shopping Malls

  • More and more researchers and practitioners in the field of e-commerce are paying attentions to the retention of online customers. However, only a few researches can be addressed in the context of internet shopping mall repurchase intention. This study aims at investigating and delineating the important characteristic factors which affect consumers' repurchase intentions by conducting an empirical analysis. In order to fulfill this purpose effectively, a comprehensive review of previous studies regarding information system success model was performed in order to render a stronger theoretical foundation for our study. Finally, based on the DeLone and McLean (2003) IS success model, information quality, system quality, service quality, customer satisfaction and repurchase intention were employed as five constructs in the research model and hypotheses on mutual relationships between these constructs were established accordingly. Structural equation modeling was employed to analyze the data collected from 204 internet shopping mall consumers in China. Our theoretical model exhibited a good fit with the observed data. The empirical results showed particularly strong support for the effects of information quality, service quality and user satisfaction. The findings of this research contributed to the extension of repurchase intention study in the context of Internet shopping malls. Our research also offered implications for practitioners in regards to devising internet shopping malls so as to increase consumers' repurchase intention to use these services.
