  • Cadastral control points in Korea are refered to various origins, for example an early separated small triangulation, a separated small triangulation, a separated control surveying origin and an unified origin. Cadastral map with early separated small triangulation origin have difficulties to connect with national GIS data by refered an unified origin. We determined transformation parameters from old origin to unified origin using 2D conformal transformation method. To evaluate of transformation accuracy, we compared with GPS field surveying results. And we experiment on coordinate transformations with unified results between the local geodetic datum and the new Korea geodetic datum.

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (KDRIs), a set of reference intake values, have served as a basis for guiding a balanced diet that promotes health and prevents disease in the general Korean population. In the process of developing DRIs, a systematic review has played an important role in helping the DRI committees make evidence-based and transparent decisions for updating the next DRIs. Thus, the 2015 KDRI steering committee applied the systematic review framework to the revision process of the KDRIs. The purpose of this article is to summarize the revision process for the 2015 KDRIs by focusing on the systematic review framework. MATERIALS/METHODS: The methods used to develop the systematic review framework for 2015 KDRIs followed the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the Tufts Evidence-based Practice Center. The framework for systematic review of the 2015 KDRIs comprised of the 3 following steps: (1) development of an analytic framework and refinement of key questions and search terms; (2) literature search and data extraction; and, (3) appraisal of the literature and summarizing the results. RESULTS: A total of 203,237 studies were retrieved through the above procedure, with 2,324 of these studies included in the analysis. General information, main results, comments of reviewers, and results of quality assessment were extracted and organized by study design. The average points of quality appraisals were 3.0 (range, 0-5) points for intervention, 6.1 (0-9) points for cohort, 6.0 (3-9) points for nested case-control, 5.4 (1-8) points for case-control, 14.6 (0-22) points for cross-sectional studies, and 7.0 (0-11) points for reviews. CONCLUSIONS: Systematic review helped to establish the 2015 KDRIs as a useful tool for evidence-based approach. Collaborative efforts to improve the framework for systematic review should be continued for future KDRIs.

  • It is very difficult to solve mathematically the optimal control problem for non - linear mobile robots to move to target points with minimum energy related to velocity, acceleration and angular velocity in minimum time. This paper proposes a method to obtain optimal control gains with which mobile robots move with minimum energy related to velocity, acceleration and angular velocity in minimum time using genetic algorithms. Mobile robots are non - linear systems so that their optimal control gains depend on initial positions. Hence initial positions are divided into some partition points and optimal control gains are obtained at each partition point with genetical algorithms. These optimal control gains are used to train neural networks that generate proper control gains at arbitrary initial position. Finally computer simulation studies have been conducted to verify the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper.

  • Purpose: This study was done to evaluate the combination effects of capsicum plaster at the Korean hand acupuncture points K-D2 with prophylactic antiemetic on Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting (PONV). Methods: An experimental research design (a randomized, a double-blinded, and a placebo-control procedure) was used. The participants were female patients undergoing gynecologic laparoscopy; the control group (n=34) received intravenous prophylactic ramosetron 0.3mg, while the experimental group (n=34) had Korean Hand Therapy additionally. In the experimental group, capsicum plaster was applied at K-D2 of both 2nd and 4th fingers by means of Korean Hand Therapy for a period of 30 minutes before the induction of anesthesia and removed 8 hours after the laparoscopy. Results: The occurrence of nausea, nausea intensity and need for rescue with antiemetic in the experimental group was significantly less than in the control group 2 hours after surgery. Conclusion: Results of the study show capsicum plaster at K-D2 is an effective method for reducing PONV in spite of the low occurrence of PONV because of the prophylactic antiemetic medication.

  • New geocentric geodetic datum has recently been realized in Korea, Korean Geodetic Datum 2002- KGD2002, to overcome problems due to the existing Tokyo datum, which had been used in this country since early 20th century. This transition will support modern surveying techniques, such as Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and ensures that spatial data is compatible with other international systems. For this realization, very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) observations were initially carried out in 1995 to determine the coordinates of the origin of KGD2002 based on the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF). Continuous GPS observations were collected from 14 reference stations across Korea to compute the coordinates of 1st order horizontal geodetic control points. During the campaign, GPS observations were also collected at about 9,000 existing geodetic control points. In 2006, network adjustment with all data obtained using GPS and EDM since 1975 has been performed under the condition of fixing the coordinates of GPS continuous observation stations to compute coordinate measurements of the 2nd and 3rd geodetic control points. This paper describes the GPS campaigns which have been undertaken since 1996 and details of the network adjustment schemes. This is followed

  • Recently, UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) or drones have gained popularity for the engineering surveying and mapping because they enable the rapid data acquisition and processing as well as their operation cost is low. The applicable fields become much wider including the topographic monitoring, agriculture, and forestry. It is reported that the high geospatial accuracy is achievable with the drone photogrammetry for many applications. However most studies reported the best achievable mapping results using well-distributed ground control points though some studies investigated the impact of control points on the accuracy. In this study, we focused on the drone mapping of corridors such as roads and pipelines. The distribution and the number of control points along the corridor were diversified for the accuracy assessment. In addition, the effects of the camera self-calibration and the number of the image strips were also studied. The experimental results showed that the biased distribution of ground control points has more negative impact on the accuracy compared to the density of points. The prior camera calibration was favored than the on-the-fly self-calibration that may produce poor positional accuracy for the case of less or biased control points. In addition, increasing the number of strips along the corridor was not helpful to increase the positional accuracy.

Following is the results after analyzing the compiled datas. 1. The E.Q. level difference between people who joined, and who not joined in a sports action activity was reported existing, the total E.Q average of those who joined was resulted 212.6, a point 29.6 higher than those not joined of 183.0 ( p< .05). As for the E.Q causing points, it resulted that the points of the joined group is generally up than that of the non-joined group, especially this difference was remarkable in terms of feeling recognition or feeling control, a finding that deserves an attention ( p<.05) 2. Joining periods of sports activity did also have relation to develping E.Q. of school-childhood according to this research, the total E.Q points of a group joined in the activity more than 2 years was 215.5 points, which was 17.4 points higher than those not joined of 186.5 points ( p< .05). Backing again to E.Q causing points in this case, it resulted without exeption of all main causes that those who joined in more than 2 years are generally higher than that of those joined less than 2 years, especially the difference was regarded as big in terms of feeling recognition or feeling control, a finding that deserves an attention ( p<.01). 3. The E.Q. differnce between those joined in a specialty aptitude activity and not joined was studied existing, the total E.Q average points of those joined in a specialty aptitude activity was 207.8, a higher figure by 21.3 points than those not joined group of 186.5 ( p< .05). As for the E.Q causing points, it resulted without exeption of all main causes that those who joined are generally higher than that of those not joined, especially for feeling recognition or feeling control, this difference was more clear, a finding that deserves an attention ( p<.01). 4. It also resulted that E.Q growth depends on the periods to have joined in a speciality aptitude activity, for example, the total E.Q points of those joined in the activity more than 2 years was 217.1, a total more higher by 13.5 points than 203.6 of those not joined ( p< .05). For the E.Q. causing points, it, with the exception of empathy was resulted that those who joined in the speciality aptitude activity more than 2 years are generally higher than those joined less than 2 years, especially the difference is remarkable in terms of feeling recognition or feeling control, a finding that is also remarkable ( p<.05). 5. The E.Q difference between the men and women who joined in both activities of sports & speciality aptitude was found existing, the total E.Q. average for women was resulted 214.2 points, which was 9.2 points higher than men of 205.0. As for the E.Q. causing points, which, without exeption of main causes, women's was reported being high than that of men, in special is more remarkable in terms of feeling control, a finding that deserves an attention. • This paper analyzes the procedure of calculating how the results of national control points (triangulation points), based on Bessel datum, have been transformed into those of KGD2002, based on the world geodetic system. GPS and EDM data observed from 1974 to 2008 were used for this purpose. A large-scale integrated GPS network was constructed to estimate the results of KGD2002 and new national control points about 12,000 were decided through multiple stages of data processing. The accuracy of these results is ${\pm}0.015m$ (95%) in the horizontal direction and ${\pm}0.030m$ (95%) in the vertical direction. The adjusted results verified by the construction of an integrated GPS/EDM network were compared with the results of KGD2002. In conclusion, the bulletin results are thought to be appropriate because the coordinate differences (RMSE) are ${\pm}0.0025m$ and ${\pm}0.008m$ in horizontal and vertical directions respectively.
