While the competition among many portal sites has been very serious in the Internet, very little research has been conducted on the perceptions of the users visiting those sites. To investigate how differently the Internet users perceive each of the portal sites, we attempted to analyze the similarities of five popular portal sites (Daum, Naver, Google, Nate, and MSN). By measuring the conceptual distances among the portal sites using Multi-Dimensional Scaling, this study was intended to understand the positions of the sites relative to those of other sites. The results of this study is expected to contribute to our understanding of competitive contexts among the portal sites.

The Tunnel portal is designed on temporary support system which is composed by 28m height H-Pile method and Ground Anchor method. The tunnel has excavated about 30m from the portal, but some deformation is found on the surface ground just above the tunnel face. It was investigated very carefully to find out the causes of deformation. By the observation and study, two main causes of deformation are found out. The one is earth pressure increase compared with classical earth pressure theory. That was due to the direction of ground rock mass's discontinuities. It causes the increase of earth pressure that are activated by the direction of discontinuity. The other one is that present design method neglect the transferred force by removal of temporary support members and ground anchor within the tunnel contour line as the tunnel excavation proceeds As the result of removals of the member and anchor, some force transferred from removed systems to remaining supporting systems. In designing the portal support systems, lt must be considered the discontiunity of ground mass and the transfered force due to excation.

The purpose of this study was to estimate the sites providing accurate and useful informations to the public by monitoring food and nutrition informations distributed through the internet quantitatively about 13 items of 7 necessary requisites. Total of 457 internet sites on the searching engines of Yahoo, Empas, Nate, Naver and Daum were monitored by 10 panels from May, 2004 to October. Thirty eight % of the sites got 7 & 8 total of 14 points and total sites showed a normal distribution. From the estimation of meta data, individual sites(5.19) were operated insufficiently compared with the commercial sites(6.10) and institutional sites(6.60) (p<0.000). According to administrators, sites were evaluated in the order of research institute> government organization> academic association> pharmaceutical company, club, food company, university> hospital> individual (p<0.000). While low-ranked sites were lack of authority because they didn't show the information provider and source, high-ranked ones lack of sustainable management(updating informations) and security. From this study, we suggest that 1) theme, contents and design have to prepared with variety to suit the need of target clients instead of that of site operator; 2) source and origin of information have to be provided; 3) informations have to be updated often and site to be managed sustainably.

Nateon Messenger, which has the most number of users in Korea, supports many services such as E-mail, note, Cyworld, SMS, etc. In this paper, we will analyse the authentication traffic which is transmitted and received by the Nateon Messenger. Through performing the replay attack with the authentication information, we will show that an attacker can be authenticated illegally. Furthermore, we will show that other domestic messengers have similar security problems.

Instant Messenger is one of the most popular communication service when translating message or data each other through Internet. For digital crime investigation, therefore, it is obviously important to obtain communication trace and contents derived from Instant Messenger. This is because that gathering traditional communication histories also have been important until now. However, extracting communication trace and contents are not easy because they are generally encrypted or obfuscated in local system, futhermore, sometimes they are located at server computer for Instant Messenger. This paper researches on extracting communication histories against NateOn, BuddyBuddy, Yahoo! messenger and Mi3 messenger, and obtaining user password or bypassing authentication system to Instant Messenger Service when a user use auto-login option.

Thermoplastic starch (TPS) was manufactured and blended with poly(butylene adipate-co-succinate) (PBAS), which is one of the most popular biodegradable aliphatic polyesters. The effects of the TPS contents on the mechanical properties, thermal characteristics, and biodegradability of PBAS/TPS blends were investigated. The foaming characteristics of those were also studied. With small amount of TPS, mechanical properties of the blends were largely deteriorated and the variations of them decreased with more addition of TPS. In addition, TPS decreased crystallinity and thermal decomposition temperature of PBAS. The PBAS/TPS foam having maximum blowing ratio was obtained with 20 Phr of TPS, and their blowing ratio decreased with the further increase of TPS.

This study is based on user requirements before the implementation of B2B order and delivery systems. For accurate and easy understanding of the user's requirements I have expressed my specifications in graphical method and to make use of multiple diagrams, I have used UML. In these specifications, I have implemented B2B order and delivery systems with the use of XML, with company 'N' which is domestic aluminum manufacturer as the study object. The results of this study are as follows. First, both a developer and a user can understand the problems associated with specifying study objects through this system. Second, the communication between developers and users is more effective using this system. Third programming became easier because or the formalized specifications of this system. Fourth, this system facilitates the rapid handling of marketing department and stock management. Fifth, order and reservation management became more rapid and accurate through the use of this system. Sixth, this system can help nate B2B order and delivery systems that can be direct transactions. Seventh, this system helps to reduce purchasing costs by allowing for the rapid and simple order and delivery of raw materials. Finally, this study emphasized the advertising effect of an aluminum vessel.

Selective extraction procedure has been used to quantify copper and cadmium In association with the various phases of aquatic sediment such as exchangeable/adsorbed, carbonate, manganese oxides, organic matter and iron oxides. Changes of pH influenced on the partitioning of copper in carbonate and exchangeable/ad- sorbed phases and of cadmium in carbonate phase of aquatic sediment. Addition of NTA and EDTA, copper and cadmium associated with carbonate phase were released from sediment to water. Total partitioning coefficient was 8.361 for copper and 0.497 for cadmium. The relative binding strengths of copper and cadmium to each solid phase can be ranked by using the partitioning coefficints. For copper it was observed that carbonate > organic matter > exchangeable/adsorbed > manganese oxides > iron oxides and for cadmiunm it was observed that exchangeable/adsorbed > carbonate > manganese oxides > organic matter > iron oxides.

The service, 'Hot Search Keywords', provides a list of the most hot search terms of different web services such as Naver or Daum. The service, bases the changes in rank of a specific search keyword on changes in its users' interest. This paper introduces a temporal modelling framework for predicting the rank change of hot search keywords using past rank data and machine learning. Past rank data shows that more than 70% of hot search keywords tend to disappear and reappear later. The authors processed missing rank value, using deletion, dummy variables, mean substitution, and expectation maximization. It is however crucial to calculate the optimal window size of the past rank data. We proposed an optimal window size selection approach based on the minimum amount of time a topic within the same or a differing context disappeared. The experiments were conducted with four different machine-learning techniques using the Naver, Daum, and Nate 'Hot Search Keywords' datasets, which were collected for 2 years.

Spill of personal information using a stolen ID and password that recently occurred in large enterprises and portal web site such as Nate, Auction, National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, suggesting the importance of protecting personal information. By managing access to user accounts in real time, users will be able to block access before personal information is leaked. Therefore, In this paper, we propose a method to prevent spill of personal information that may occur when connected to others by using an authorized ID and password from portals. Specifically, we offer a mobile status control app that controls the logged status of user account in real time to view login status information to user by visualization and information about specific time and IP address. Also, we propose a method for detecting and blocking duplicated login that connect via IP address change.
