Nutritional Quality of Fermented Soy Foods in Thailand

  • Soybean has been favored by many Thai people and it has been prepared by numerous different methods. Collected samples are as follows: Thua-nao paste from Chiangrai province, dried Thua-nao for Jatujak Market, Bangkok, 3 types of commercial soybean paste, soybean sauce and 2 types of fermented soybean curd cakes with other ingredients. Moisture contents of fresh and dried Thua-nao were 68.5 and $7.6\%$, respectively; therefore the shelf-life of dried Thua-nao can be extended to 1 year with proper packaging. The remainder of the soy foods had moisture contents of 55.4 to $64.4\%$. Fat contents of fresh and dried Thua-nao were 7.4 and $19.7\%$, respectively, whereas other samples contained less than $3\%$. Dried Thua-nao had the highest CHO (carbohydrates) content $(37.4\%);$ in contrast, soybean sauce contained only $4.5\%$. Calcium content was highest in dried Thua-nao followed by fresh Thua-nao; the other fermented soy foods had less than 44.7 mg/l00 g. Salt was added to samples other than Thua-nao resulting in high Na contents. Free and total daidzein contents of dried Thua-nao were 355 and 676 ug/g; similarly free and total genistein contents were 293 and $616.5\;\mug/g$, respectively.

브레이크 마모입자의 하전 및 자성 특성 분석 (Analysis of charge and magnetic characteristics of brake wear particles)

  • The charge and magnetic characteristics of LM (Low-metallic) and NAO (Non-asbestos-organic) brake wear particles were analyzed. The ratio of charged particles from total particles is about 86% of the LM pad and about 92% of the NAO pad. Number of charge per particle from the NAO pad is also higher than that of the LM pad. The ratio of magnetic particles from total particles increases with the particle size. The ratio of magnetic particles from the LM pad is about 15% for the particles with the size of 1 ㎛, and about 74% for ones with 5 ㎛. The ratio from the NAO pad is about 5% for the particles with the size from 0.5 ㎛ to 2 ㎛, and about 80% for the particles with 5 ㎛. Through the analysis of the components of the two pads with SEM-EDS (Scanning Electron Microscopy - Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy), it was found that the LM pad was occupied with more iron fraction than the NAO pad and that PM2.5-10 was occupied with more iron fraction than PM2.5. The particles smaller than 10 ㎛ (i.e. PM10) from the LM pad contained about 83% of charged particles, about 43% of magnetic particles, and about 93% of charged or magnetic particles. PM10 from the NAO pad contained about 88% of charged particles, about 15% of magnetic particles, and about 89% of charged or magnetic particles.

  • 본 연구에서는 발끝 궤적을 미리 설계하지 않고, CPG(Central Pattern Generator)를 이용하여 동적으로 생성할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 생성된 발끝 궤적은 CPG 의 진동적인 출력에 따라 가변적인데, 이는 발끝 궤적이 CPG 진동적인 출력 신호의 맵핑 함수로 주어지기 때문이다. 이를 통해 환경에 적응적인 궤적을 생성할 수 있는 토대를 마련할 수 있다. 제안된 기법의 효율성을 검증하기 위해서, Webots 시뮬레이션을 통해 휴머노이드 로봇 Nao에 대한 실험을 수행하고, 성능과 동작 특성을 분석한다.

북대서양 진동과 북서태평양 태풍발생빈도와의 관계 (Possible Relationship between NAO and Western North Pacific Typhoon Genesis Frequency)

  • 이 연구는 지역특별기상센터-동경 태풍 센터에서 제공하는 태풍의 최적 경로 자료와 미국 국립 환경예측센터/미국 국립 대기연구센터의 재분석 자료를 이용하여 6월 북대서양 진동 지수와 7, 8월 총 북서태평양 태풍발생빈도 사이에 강한 양의 상관관계가 있음이 분석되었다. 이러한 관계의 가능한 원인을 알아보기 위해 엘니뇨, 라니냐 해를 포함한 경우와 포함 하지 않은 경우로 구분하여 가장 높은 양의 북대서양 진동 해와 가장 낮은 음의 북대서양 진동 해 사이의 평균 차를 분석하였다. 엘니뇨 해와 라니냐 해를 포함한 경우 양의 북대서양 진동 해에는 태풍이 열대 및 아열대 서태평양의 북서쪽에서 주로 발생하였으며, 필리핀 북동쪽 해상으로부터 동중국해를 지나 동아시아 중위도 지역으로 이동하는 패턴을 나타냈다. 반면, 음의 북대서양 진동 해에는 태풍이 열대 및 아열대 서태평양의 남동쪽에서 주로 발생하였으며, 필리핀 남동쪽 해상으로부터 남중국해를 지나 중국 남부해안 및 인도차이나 반도를 향해 서진하는 패턴을 나타냈다. 이러한 두 해의 태풍 이동 패턴은 태풍의 전향위치에도 영향을 주어 양의 북대서양 진동 해에 태풍 전향이 평균적으로 좀 더 북동쪽에 이루어지는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 두 해의 태풍 이동 패턴은 태풍의 강도에도 영향을 주어 동아시아 중위도에 북상하는 동안 바다로부터 충분한 에너지를 공급받을 수 있는 양의 북대서양 진동 해의 태풍의 강도가 음의 북대서양 진동 해의 태풍들보다 더 강했다. 음의 북대서양 진동 해에 태풍은 중국 남부해안 및 인도차이나 반도에 상륙하면서 강도가 약해지거나 바로 소멸되어 약한 강도를 나타내었다. 한편 위의 모든 분석의 결과는 엘니뇨, 리니냐 해를 포함하지 않은 경우에도 비슷하게 나타나 6월 북대서양 진동 지수가 7, 8월 총 북서태평양 태풍발생빈도를 예측하는데 좋은 예측인자가 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • In case Power Line Communication (PLC) method is applied to a rainwater monitoring system, PLC module should be utilized. In this paper, PLC module using ST7538Q is implemented. The design rules of the IC peripheral circuit are explained in detail. The operation of the implemented PLC module is verified through the experimental results.

  • DLC(Direct Load Control) program has been introduced and operated for the stabilization of power demand. DLC program takes effect in accordance with political judgment of government (operating reserve ratio etc), which is controlled by DLC system mechanism. So we would improve understanding of DLC program participant introducing about control procedure in detail and also propose direction of development about control system.

  • The friction and wear characteristics of automotive friction materials reinforced with carbon fibers were studied using a direct drive brake dynamometer. Two types of model friction materials, a low-metallic and an NAO type, were prepared and each of the materials was modified by substituting 5 vol% of carbon fibers with other reinforcing fiber used in the model formulations. Drag tests were carried out to investigate the friction properties of these materials at various braking conditions. Results showed that the modified friction materials were improved in the friction stability and the wear resistance.

Friction Characteristics of Non-Asbestos Organic (NAO) and Low-Steel Friction Materials: The Comparative Study

  • Eviction characteristics of two typical friction materials (non-asbestos organic and low-steel friction materials) for an automotive brake system were investigated using an inertial brake dynamometer. In particular, the effect of sliding speed on friction coefficient was carefully investigated employing various test modes. The two friction materials were developed for commercial applications and were different mainly in the type and the amount of metallic ingredients in the friction material. The dynamometer test showed that the low-steel friction material was sensitive to the sliding speed exhibiting a negative $\mu$-v relation. On the other hand, the non-asbestos organic friction material was less sensitive to the sliding speed. The low steel friction materials with a negative $\mu$-v relation also induced larger vibration amplitude during brake applications.

피드백을 결합한 CPG 기반의 적응적인 휴머노이드 로봇 보행 (CPG-based Adaptive Walking for Humanoid Robots Combining Feedback)

  • The paper introduces dynamic generation technique of foot trajectories for humanoid robots using CPG(Central Pattern Generator) and proposes adaptive walking method for slope terrains combining a feedback network. The proposed CPG based technique generates the trajectory of foot in the Cartesian coordinates system and it can change the step length adaptively according to the feedback information. To cope with variable slope terrains, the sensory feedback network in the CPG are designed using the geometry relationship between foot position and body center position such that humanoid robot can maintain its stability. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, the experiments on humanoid robot Nao are executed in the Webot simulation. The performance and motion features of the CPG based approach are compared and analyzed focusing on the adaptability in slope terrains.
