  • Flow over a bluff body is an attractive research field in thermal engineering. In the present study, laminar flow over a confined heated square cylinder using CuO-Water nanofluid is considered. Unsteady two-dimensional Navier-Stokes and energy equations are solved numerically using finite volume method (FVM). Recent correlations for the thermal conductivity and viscosity of nanofluids, which are function of nanoparticle volume fraction, temperature and nanoparticle diameter, have been employed. The results of numerical solution are obtained for Richardson number, nanoparticle volume fractions and nanoparticle diameters ranges of 0-1, 1-5% and 30-100 nm respectively for a fixed Reynolds number of Re = 150. At a given volume concentration, the investigations reveal that the decreasing in size of nanoparticles produces an increase in heat transfer rates from the square cylinder and a decrease in amplitude of the lift coefficient. Also, the increment of Nusselt number is more pronounced at higher concentrations and higher Richardson numbers.

  • The present study shows the experimental and modeling results of the cooling system using nanofludic loop thermosyphon. the experimental results show that nanofluid is not effective for small scale cooling system. The heat transfer performance is not much improved with the current small scale loop system comparing with the convectional water based loop system. In this study, various effects of nanofluids such as the concentration, the md of particle, host fluid, and heat capacity and so on were investigated. With nanofluid as the working fluid, the flow instability was improved at a certain concentration.

  • The effect of surfactants with different chain length on the drying dynamics of nanosized dispersion droplets and on the final morphology of the grains formed after water evaporation is investigated experimentally. An acoustic levitator was used to examine the drying dynamics of single droplets and SEM imaging was used to characterise the morphology of the final dried grains. Results show that the drying of drops with high molecular weight surfactants leads to more irregular grains and that the grain morphology is related to surface tension driven instability of the evaporating droplets which may lead to formation of hollow dried grains.

  • There are several novel uses for dispersing many nanoparticles into a conventional fluid, including dynamic sealing, damping, heat dissipation, microfluidics, and more. Therefore, melting heat and mass transfer characteristics of a 3-D MHD Hybrid Nanofluid flow over a rotating disc with presenting dufour and soret effects are assessed numerically in this study. In this instance, we investigated both ferric sulfate and molybdenum disulfide as nanoparticles suspended within base fluid water. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into linked higher-order non-linear ordinary differential equations by the local similarity transformation. The collection of these deduced equations is then resolved using a Chebyshev spectral collocation-based algorithm built into the Mathematica software. To demonstrate how different instances of hybrid/ nanofluid are impacted by changes in temperature, velocity, and the distribution of nanoparticle concentration, examples of graphical and numerical data are given. For many values of the material parameters, the computational findings are shown. Simulations conducted for different physical parameters in the model show that adding hybrid nanoparticle to the fluid mixture increases heat transfer in comparison to simple nanofluids. It has been identified that hybrid nanoparticles, as opposed to single-type nanoparticles, need to be taken into consideration to create an effective thermal system. Furthermore, porosity lowers the velocities of simple and hybrid nanofluids in both cases. Additionally, results show that the drag force from skin friction causes the nanoparticle fluid to travel more slowly than the hybrid nanoparticle fluid. The findings also demonstrate that suction factors like magnetic and porosity parameters, as well as nanoparticles, raise the skin friction coefficient. Furthermore, It indicates that the outcomes from different flow scenarios correlate and are in strong agreement with the findings from the published literature. Bar chart depictions are altered by changes in flow rates. Moreover, the results confirm doctors' views to prescribe hybrid nanoparticle and particle nanoparticle contents for achalasia patients and also those who suffer from esophageal stricture and tumors. The results of this study can also be applied to the energy generated by the melting disc surface, which has a variety of industrial uses. These include, but are not limited to, the preparation of semiconductor materials, the solidification of magma, the melting of permafrost, and the refreezing of frozen land.

  • In the present study, a laminar natural convection flow of $H_2O$-Cu nanofluid in a two dimensional enclosure has been investigated using a thermal lattice Boltzmann approach with the Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook (BGK) model. The effect of suspended nanoparticles on the fluid flow and heat transfer process have been studied for different controlling parameters such as particle volume fraction ($\Phi$), Rayleigh number (Ra). For this investigation the Rayleigh number changes from 104 to 106 and volume fraction varied from 0 to 10% with three different particle diameters (dp), say 10 nm, 20 nm and 40 nm. It is shown that increasing the Rayleigh number (Ra) and the volume fraction of nanofluid causes an increase of the effective heat transfer rate in terms of average Nusselt number (Nu) as well as the thermal conductivity of nanofluid. On the other hand, increasing the particle diameter causes the decrease of the heat transfer rate and thermal conductivity. The result of the analysis are compared with experimental and numerical data both for pure and nanofluids and it is seen a relatively good agreement.

  • In this study, the characteristics of multi-walled carbon nanotubes added nanofluid were investigated. Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate, SDS, and Polyvinylpyrrolidone, PVP, were employed as the dispersant. SDS or PVP was added in pure water. And then, 0.0005, 0.001, 0.002, 0.003. 0.004, 0.005,0.01, and 0.02 vol% of CM-95 and CM-100 were dispersed respectively. The thermal conductivity and the viscosity were measured with a transient hot-wire instrument built for this study and the DV II+ Pro viscometer. The results showed that PVP had good thermal conductivity at 300 wt% and the thermal conductivity of CM-100 was better than that of CM-95. However, the viscosity of CM 100 was higher than that of CM 95.

  • Pool boiling, one of the key thermal-hydraulics phenomena, has been widely studied for improving heat transfer efficiencies and safety of nuclear power plants, refrigerating systems, solar-collector heat pipes, and other facilities and equipments. In the present study, the critical heat flux (CHF) and heat-transfer coefficients were tested under the pool-boiling state using graphene M-5 and M-15 nanofluids as well as oxidized graphene M-5 nanofluid. The results showed that the highest CHF increase for both graphene M-5 and M-15 was at the 0.01% volume fraction and, moreover, that the CHF-increase ratio for small-diameter graphene M-5 was higher than that for large-diameter graphene M-15. Also at the 0.01% volume fraction, the oxidized graphene M-5 nanofluid showed a 41.82%-higher CHF-increase ratio and a 26.7%-higher heat-transfer coefficient relative to the same nanofluid without oxidation treatment at the excess temperature where the CHF of distilled water occurs.

  • An experimental study was carried out to understand the heat transfer performance of a miniature loop heat pipes using water-based copper nanoparticles suspensions as the working fluid. The suspensions consisted of deionized water and copper nanoparticles with an average diameter of 80 nm. Effects of the cupper mass concentration and the operation pressure on the average evaporation and condensation heat transfer coefficients, the critical heat flux and the total heat resistance of the mLHPs were investigated and discussed. The pressure frequency also depends upon the evaporator temperature which has been maintained from $60^{\circ}C$ to $90^{\circ}C$. The Investigation shows 60% filling ratio gives the highest inside pressure magnitude of highest number pressure frequency at any of setting of evaporator temperature and 5wt% results the lowest heat flow resistance.
