본 고에서는 일본의 국제 표준화 활동의 동향을 살펴보고 우리나라에의 시사점을 제시하고 있다. 우선 일본의 기본적 표준화 정책방향을 검토한 후, NTT와 KDD 등 통신사업자와 NEC 등 통신제조업자의 국제 표준화 전략을 분석하였다. 이를 토대로 우리나라 표준화 정책의 시사점을 기술하였다.

본 고에서는 GaAs DIC (Digital Integrated Circuits)의 최근 연구경향을 공정기술을 중심으로 소개한다. GaAs DIC의 역사, 공정, 설계, 집적도에 대하여 살펴봄으로써 초고속 GaAs DIC 개발의 향후 방향을 모색하고자 한다. 본 고는 1987년 SPIE지에 게재된 일본 NTT연구소의 Hirayama와 Ikegami의 논문 내용을 중심으로 편역한 것이다.

A 47-year-old woman was referred for surgical treatment of osteomyelitis of the mandible. She had already undergone three previous surgeries. Pre-anesthetic airway evaluation predicted a difficult airway, due to the thin, retro-positioned mandible, tongue, and atrophic changes in the lips and soft tissue. We inserted packing gauzes in the buccal mucosa for easier mask fitting and ventilation. During direct laryngoscopic intubation with a nasotracheal tube (NTT), fracture of a thin mandible can easily occur. Therefore, we used a fiberoptic bronchoscope to insert the NTT. After surgery, we performed a tongue-tie to protect against airway obstruction caused by the backward movement of the tongue during recovery. The patient recovered without any complications. We determined the status of the patient precisely and consequently performed thorough preparations for the surgery, allowing the patient to be anesthetized safely and recover after surgery. Careful assessment of the patient and airway prior to surgery is necessary.

High-speed telecommunication systems are influenced by electromagnetic environments because they need a wide bandwidth to transmit signals. Immunity tests of telecommunication equipment are effective for improving its immunity to electromagnetic environments. However, immunity tests are expensive to carry out because there are several different tests. The correlation among the tests should therefore be examined in order to reduce the kinds of tests that are necessary. This paper investigates the correlation between the electrical fast transient/burst (EFTB) test and the radio frequency (RF) conductive immunity test. Imitation equipment was constructed with a balun, and a baseband signal was transmitted from the associated equipment to the imitation equipment. Then, disturbances were applied to the equipment, and the telecommunication quality was evaluated by using the bit error rate (BER). The results from the EFTB test indicated that the BER was less than $6{\times}10^{-5}$ and the value was independent of the peak value. The results from the RF conductive immunity test indicated that the BER was affected by the longitudinal conversion loss (LCL).

Combining multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) with a massive number of transmit antennas (massive MIMO-OFDM) is an attractive way of increasing the spectrum efficiency or reducing the transmission energy per bit. The effectiveness of Massive MIMO-OFDM is strongly affected by the channel state information (CSI) estimation method used. The overheads of training frame transmission and CSI feedback decrease multiple access channel (MAC) efficiency and increase the CSI estimation cost at a user station (STA). This paper proposes a CSI estimation scheme that reduces the training frame length by using a novel pilot design and a novel unitary matrix feedback method. The proposed pilot design and unitary matrix feedback enable the access point (AP) to estimate the CSI of the signal space of all transmit antennas using a small number of training frames. Simulations in an IEEE 802.11n channel verify the attractive transmission performance of the proposed methods.

최근 AODV 라우팅 프로토콜은 무선센서네트워크에서 노드 간에 데이터 전송방식을 추구하므로 테이블구동방식 중 가장 널리 사용되고 있다. AODV 라우팅 프로토콜은 목적지노드가 멀리 있거나 없는 경우엔 목적지노드를 찾기 위한 라우팅 패킷이 급격하게 증가하고 이로 인해 네트워크의 성능이 크게 저하된다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 불필요한 RREQ 메시지를 제어하는 ERS(expanding ring search)방법을 사용한다. 그러나 ERS 방법은 유선 멀티캐스팅을 기본으로 하기 때문에 무선네트워크환경의 NTT(node traversal time)를 고려하지 않았다는 단점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이동 무선 센서 노드들이 불규칙적으로 이동하는 무선센서네트워크에서 목적지 노드로부터 소스노드까지 전송되는 RREP의 소요시간, 노드간의 거리, 에너지량을 고려하여 효율적인 NTT 알고리즘을 제안한다.

PC는 현재 stand-alone 형태로 사용되는 것이 주류이며 통신용 터미널로서는 일반화되어 있지 않으나, PC를 통신망에 접속하여 다양한 통신 서비스를 제공받을 수 있을 것이다. 본고에서는 PC 통신 서비스를 개괄적으로 다루고 있으며, 특히 각국의 현황 및 NTT의 경우를 한 사례로 기술하였고 한국전자통신연구소의 개발계획(안)에 대하여 간략히 소개하고자 한다. 계속해서 PC 통신을 위한 기술적 측면에 관해서는 차후에 게재할 예정이다.

최근 국내에서는 후발사업자에 의해 시내전화 사업자가전선택제가 유선전화 시장개방 수단으로 제기되고 있다. 일본의 경우 2001년 5월부터 시내전화, 장거리전화, 국제전화 부분에서 사업자사전선택제를 도입하여 시행하고 있다. 이 제도의 도입으로 지배적 사업자인 동서 NTT의 시장 지배력은 약화되어 갔다. 뿐만 아니라 지나친 요금경쟁과 과대한 판매촉진 비용으로 신규기업들도 경상이익이 적자로 전화되었다.
