Thermolysis Reactions of 2-Methoxy-2-(o-N,N-dimethylminometiyl)-phenyl-3-tiimetiylsilyl-5,5-dimetiyl-2-silahexane

  • In the neat flow vacuum pyrolysis of 2-methoxy-2-(o-N,N+dimethylaminomethyl)phenyl-3-trimethylsilyl-5,5-dime-thyl-2-silahexane (4) at $600^{\circ}C$ and its static thermolysis at $350^{\circ}C23-benzo-5-aza-1-silacyclohexane$, (5) has been obtained in97% and 46% y ields, respectively. Product 5 might have been formed via an intramolecular rearrangement invoIving a zwitterionic species generated from the pentacoordinated silene Si-atom. From trapping experiments with an excess of MeOH, we have obtained 2-(o-N,N-dimethylaminomethyl)phenyl-5,5-dimethyl-2-trimethylsiloxy-2-silahexane (6) and 2-(o-N,N-dimethylaminomethyl)phenyl-2-methoxy-5,5-dime-thyl-2-silahexane (7) formed via an intermolecular protodesilylation reaction rather than through trapped prod-ucts of the silene.

Effects of Aluminum Nanoparticles on Thermal Decomposition of Ammonium Perchlorate

  • The effects of aluminum nanoparticles (AlNs) on the thermal decomposition of ammonia perchlorate (AP) were investigated by DSC, TG-DSC and DSC-TG-MS-FTIR. Addition of AlNs resulted in an increase in the temperature of the first exothermic peak of AP and a decrease in the second. The processing of non-isothermal data at various heating rates with and without AlNs was performed using Netzsch Thermokinetics. The dependence of the activation energy calculated by Friedman's isoconversional method on the conversion degree indicated the decomposition process can be divided into three steps. They were C1/D1/D1 for neat AP, determined by Multivariate Non-linear Regression, and changed to C1/D1/F2 after addition of AlNs into AP. The isothermal curves showed that the thermal stability of AP in the low temperature stage was improved in the presence of AlNs.

열가소성 방향족 폴리머의 결정화 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on Crystallization of Thermoplastic Aromatic Polymer)

  • 열가소성 복합재료는 다양한 장점에도 불구하고 기계적 특성이 낮아 고성능 항공산업 분야에서는 제한적으로 사용되어 왔으나 최근 열가소성 방향족 폴리머 복합재들이 많이 연구/활용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 대표적인 열가소성 방향족 폴리머인 PEEK와 PPS Neat 수지 필름을 DSC 기기를 이용하여 가열, 냉각 및 재 가열 사이클을 연속적으로 수행하여 유리전이온도 및 용융온도 등의 특성변화를 확인하고 냉각속도에 따른 결정화도(Crystallinity)의 차이를 평가하였다. 1차 가열단계에서 각 폴리머의 용융온도보다 높은 온도에 5분간 유지시켜 이전 열이력을 제거하였고 2차 냉각단계에서 냉각속도를 분당 2, 5, 10, 20 및 $40^{\circ}C$로 조절/적용함으로서 결정화반응을 제어하였으며, 3차 가열단계에서 재가열하여 용융엔탈피를 측정함으로서 결정화도 차이를 확인하였다. 높은 비정질 영역을 가진 시편의 첫 번째 가열시 냉각결정화 현상이 일어나고 뚜렷한 유리상 전이구역을 확인할 수 있었던 반면에 결정질 영역이 증가된 재가열시에는 냉각결정화 현상이 일어나지 않고 상대적으로 유리상 전이구역이 약해지는 것을 확인하였다. 2차 냉각단계에서 냉각속도가 느려짐에 따라 결정화도가 높아졌는데 PEEK의 경우 냉각속도의 차이에 따라 21.9~39.3% 결정화도를 보였으며, PPS는 29.1~31.2% 결정화도 차이를 얻을 수 있었다.

The Occupational Exposure Limit for Fluid Aerosol Generated in Metalworking Operations: Limitations and Recommendations

  • The aim of this review was to assess current knowledge related to the occupational exposure limit (OEL) for fluid aerosols including either mineral or chemical oil that are generated in metalworking operations, and to discuss whether their OEL can be appropriately used to prevent several health risks that may vary among metalworking fluid (MWF) types. The OEL (time-weighted average; 5 mg/$m^3$, short-term exposure limit ; 15 mg/$m^3$) has been applied to MWF aerosols without consideration of different fluid aerosol-size fractions. The OEL, is also based on the assumption that there are no significant differences in risk among fluid types, which may be contentious. Particularly, the health risks from exposure to water-soluble fluids may not have been sufficiently considered. Although adoption of The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health's recommended exposure limit for MWF aerosol (0.5 mg/$m^3$ ) would be an effective step towards minimizing and evaluating the upper respiratory irritation that may be caused by neat or diluted MWF, this would fail to address the hazards (e.g., asthma and hypersensitivity pneumonitis) caused by microbial contaminants generated only by the use of water-soluble fluids. The absence of an OEL for the water-soluble fluids used in approximately 80-90 % of all applicants may result in limitations of the protection from health risks caused by exposure to those fluids.

Zaltman의 은유유도기법을 이용한 화장하는 남성들의 이상적 자아와 환상에 관한 질적 연구 (Qualitative Study on the Ideal-self and the Fantasy of Men Wearing Makeup by Employing Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique)

  • This study conducted in-depth interviews with twelve men in their twenties and employed the Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique (ZMET) to identify the ideal self-image and fantasy of men wearing makeup. The results are as follows. First, the ideal self-images of men wearing makeup can be divided into 7 images (well-managed, dissimilar from real identity, masculine, neat, stylish, standing out, and formal). Men who wear makeup pursued an alternative decent image that is different from their reality. They want to be manly, attractive, decorous, and eye-catching through a better looking face. Second, men who wear makeup have insecurities about their looks and personalities that creates dissatisfaction with reality and a desire for a different idealistic self. Makeup was the tool to create the other entity. Makeup facilitated a fantasy of becoming another to gain increased confidence in social relationships. However, without makeup, they showed a lack of confidence and became intimidated that made them even further dependent on makeup. Third, the process helped participants complete a consensus map that represented the emotional and reasoning structures of men wearing makeup. This study showed 7 ideal self-images of men wearing makeup with a fantasy to create a desired ideal self by wearing makeup. The study can be applied to marketing strategy for men's cosmetics and plates' designs.

물려받은 학령기 아동의복의 인식에 관한 연구 -가족구성 서열에 의한 연령층 비교- (A Study of the Relationship between Hand-me-down Clothing and Clothing Behaviors of Elementary School Children.)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitudes of handed-me-down clothing in the Che-ju elementary school children. Measures of attitudes toward handed-me-down clothing consisted of: 1) attitudes of receiver's 2) feeling of receive.'s 3) behaviors 4) possession 5) frequency of wearing handed-me-down clothing. Two aspects of clothing behaviors were slightly modified to assess conformity?individuality, satisfaction in clothing. The sample consisted of 565 students in Che-ju elementary school children, Korea. The data, collected by means of a self-administered questionaire, were analysed by Chi-Square ($X^2$) and Correlation(R). The results indicated that: 1. Handed-me-down clothing was not significantly different between elder brothers (sisters) and child. 2. Most of the children wanted to wear comfort, good style, fit and neat in handed-me-down clothing. 3. Most of the children were satisfied with their handed-me-down clothing and tended not to be aware of the source in clothing. 4. Most of the children had higher interest of individuality and satisfaction in clothing behaviors.

그래핀 나노플레이트릿의 산화가 에폭시 도막재료의 역학적 및 부착 특성에 미치는 영향 (Oxidation Effect of Graphene Nanoplatelets on the Mechanical Properties and Bonding Performance of Epoxy Paint Material)

  • In this study, oxidized graphene nanoplatelet(GO) was prepared by oxidizing graphene nanoplatelet(GNP) with nitric acid in order to solve the problem of dispersion of GNP, one of nano materials. GNP/Epoxy and GO/Epoxy were prepared by mixing GNP, GO with 0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 1.0 wt.% in epoxy and the mechanical properties, bond performance were evaluated. As a result, GNP/Epoxy and GO/Epoxy showed higher tensile strength than Neat Epoxy at the 0.1, 0.3 wt.%. Especially, when 0.1 wt.% of GO was incorporated into epoxy resin, it showed highest tensile strength. It was confirmed that acid treatment of GNP was effective in improving the mechanical properties of epoxy paint. However, graphene material was found that it was not effective in improving the bond strength of the epoxy paint.

Effects of Maleinized Polybutadiene on the Elongation and Impact Peel Strength of Epoxy Resins

  • The effect of maleinized polybutadiene (MPB) on the mechanical properties of epoxy resins including adhesion strength, elongation and impact peel resistance was investigated in this study, in which MPB is an anhydride-functionalized polybutadiene prepolymer. Different molecular weights (3.1K and 5.6K) of MPB were added to diglycidyl ether bisphenol-A (DEGBA), an epoxy resin, to increase its impact peel strength and elongation. At various loading percent (5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 wt%) of MPB in the epoxy resin, significant improvements of mechanical properties were observed. According to the comparative analysis results, the modified epoxy system with 15 wt% (3.1K) MPB exhibited the highest lap shear strength, about 40% higher than that of neat epoxy. The tensile strength and elongation steadily and simultaneously increased as the loading percent of MPB increased. The impact peel strengths at low (-40℃) and room (23℃) temperatures were substantially improved by MPB incorporation into epoxy resins. Reactive and flexible MPB prepolymer seems to construct strong nano-structured networks with rigid epoxy backbones without sacrificing the tensile and adhesion strengths while increasing impact resistance/toughness and elongation properties. For higher impact peel while maintaining adhesion and tensile strengths, approximately 10-15 wt% MPB loading in epoxy resin was suggested. Consequently, incorporation of functionalized MPB prepolymer into epoxy system is an easy and efficient way for improving some crucial mechanical properties of epoxy resins.

남자 중.고등학생의 자기이미지와 의복추구이미지에 대한 연구 (A study on the Self-Image and Clothing Preference Image of Male Adolescents)

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to classify wearing situation of male adolescents and 2) to classify self-image and CPI(Clothing Preference Image) of male adolescents and 3) to segment consumer group by self-image and to find the differences in self-image and CPI by situation among groups. For the data collection a questionnaire was distributed to male adolescents who were residents in Seoul and Taejeon. The statistics used for the data analysis were factor analysis, multiple dimensional scale, mean, percentage, peason-correlation, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan-test by the SPSSWIN program. The results of this study are as follows: 1) The self-image of male adolecents is categorized by seven factors; sophisticate and fashion conscious, active, practical and realistic, flank and pure, young-looking, feminine, and slender. Based on seven factors, the consumer group is categorized to five groups; practical and realistic Group1, young-looking and feminine Group2, characterless Group3, active Group4, sophisticate and flank Group5. 2) Wearing situations are divided into three categories; in downtown, in urban, at festival. In downtown, CPI are divided into six elements; ornamental, simplex, sexy, feminine, neat, young, and sophisticate. In urban, CPI are divided into five elements; ornamental, simple, sexy, feminine, young-looking, and sophisticate. At festival, CPI are divided into four elements; unique, simple, feminine, and formal. To conclude, the male adolescent consumers are categorized by self-image, and the different CPIs are sought by different wearing situations.

푸쉬형 음성 서비스를 위한 VoiceXML 플랫폼의 확장 (An Extension of the VoiceXML Platform for Push-based Voice Applications)

  • VoiceXML (Voice extensible Markup language)은 음성 대화를 웹의 마크업 언어로 기술할 수 있는 차세대 대화형 음성 서비스를 위한 표준이다. 현재 발표된 VoiceXML 1.0 사양은 음성대화의 기술에 초점을 두고 있으며, 음성 서비스의 시작 시점에 관해서는 언급이 없다. 본 논문에서는 사용자에 의해 시작하는 주문형 (on-demand) 음성 서비스 (inbound call) 뿐만 아니라, 최근에 고객관계관리 (CRM: Customer Relationship Management) 등에서 요구되는 시스템에 의한 푸쉬형 음성 서비스 (outbound call)가 가능한 VoiceXML 플랫폼을 설계하고 구현하였다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 W3C (World Wide Web Consortium)의 호 제어 요구사항 (Call Control Requirements)을 바탕으로 음성 대화 중에 팩스 송수신이 가능하도록 VoiceXML 문서형 정의 (UTD: Document Type Definition)를 확장하였다.
