To investigate serum antibody titers of Newcastle disease (ND) virus, serum samples were collected from 19,774 slaughtered chickens from 862 farms in Geoje, Goseong, Tongyung and other province during the period from January 2001 to December 2005. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. The negative percentage of ND antibody titer with below 1.0 levels decreased from 46.7% in 2001 to 40.5% in 2004 but those of it increased to 47.0% in 2005 and the positive percentage of ND antibody titer with higher 5 levels increased from 15.8% in 2001 to 26.2% in 2005. 2. The season levels of ND antibody titer showed various levels according to seasons but the general trend of ND antibody titer decreased in the later half of the year than those of the first half of the year. 3. The negative percentage of ND antibody titer on provinces decreased from 52.0% (2001) to 36.2% (2004) in Goseong but those of it increased to 51.4% in 2005. The negative percentage of ND antibody titer of Tongyung and other provinces increased from 51.0%, 28.5% (2001) to 55.0% and 44.3% (2005), respectively. 4. The year average levels of ND antibody titer increased from 2.2 to 2.6 during 2001- 2004 but those of it decreased to 2.4 in 2005. The provinces average levels of ND antibody titer increased from 2.0 to 2.8 during 2001 - 2005 and others provinces except Gyeongnam decreased from 3.3 to 2.6 during the 2001-2005. 5. The farm average levels of ND antibody titer with below 1.0 levels decreased from 26.3% in 2001 to 10.2% in 2004 but those of it increased to 17.6% in 2005 and those of below 1.0 or 2.0 levels increased from 17.9% (2001) to 27.7% (2005). The protective levels of ND antibody titer with higher 5.0 levels increased from 2.1% in 2001 to 8.8% in 2005.

0.15$(Ba_{0.95}Sr_{0.05})$O-0.15$(Sm_{2(1-x)}Nd-{2x})O_3-0.7TiO_2 (x=0{\sim}10[m/o])$ ceramics were fabricated by mixed-oxide method. Microwave dielectric properties was investigated with the contents of $Nd_2O_3$. Increasing the contents of $Nd_2O_3$ from 0 to 6[m/o], sintered density was increased 5.53 to $5.68[g/ cm^3]$. In the specimen with contents of $Nd_2O_3$(6[m/o]), dielectric content was maximum value of 78.14 and decreased with increasing the contents of $Nd_2O_3$. Quality factor was increased with the contents of $Nd_2O_3$.
The Sm-Nd isotopic data on the Precambrian gneisses from Gyeonggi and Sobaegsan Massifs are presented and the crustal evolution of the Precambrian basements of the Korean Peninsula is discussed with that of the Precambrian basements of East Asia. Sm-Nd isochron plots on whole rock samples from Sobaegsan Massif give the following ages and initial Nd values. Biotite gneisses: $1.05{\pm}0.07$ Ga with ${\varepsilon}_{Nd}$ (1.05 Ga)= $-12.5{\pm}0.4$ ($2{\sigma}$); granitic gneisses: $1.70{\pm}0.59$ Ga with ${\varepsilon}_{Nd}$ (1.70 Ga)=$+9.5{\pm}6$($2{\sigma}$). Initial Nd isotopic evolution diagram for the Precambrian orthogneisses from Sobaegsan Massif with the Precambrian orthogneisses in northeastern China and Japan reveals the existence of early Archean depleted-mantle in east Asia and suggests the prevalence of nearly common or similar source accountable for these Precambrian gneisses. Such a common source is shown to have LREE-enriched feature and to have been formed from the depleted-mantle in the late Archean of ca. 2.6 Ga. On the other hand, the Sobaegsan granitic gneisses in Korea are concluded to have different evolution history. Our Sm-Nd study clearly discloses that some Precambrian orthogneisses from Korea had evolved from the protolith having the similar or same geochemical properties with the Precambrian orthogneisses in Japan and northeastern China. In addition, crustal formation age of Gyeonggi Massif in southern Korea may be different from that of Sobaegasn Massif.
An extraction study of neodymium (Nd) was investigated with different individual and mixer of extractants such as PC88A, D2EHPA, Cyanex 272, Versatic acid 10 and D2EHPA+Alamine-304-1, D2EHPA+Alamine-308, D2EHPA+TBP, D2EHPA+TOPO, PC88A+Alamine-336 and PC88A+TBP respectively. In all cases, it was observed that the extraction percentage of Nd increased with increasing equilibrium pH and extractant concentration but rather opposite observation was found that the extraction percentage of Nd decreased with increasing TBP concentration along with D2EHPA. Adding TBP to PC88A had no favorable effect on the extraction of Nd, whereas use of a mixture of PC88A with Alamine336, increased the extraction percentage of Nd under the same condition. Based on our experimental studies, this paper reports the results on the basic approach and extraction of neodymium.

The microstructure and electrical properties of Pr$_{6}$/O sub 11/-Based ZnO varistors with Nd$_2$O$_3$ was doped in the range of 0.0 to 2.0 mol% were investigated. Most of the added Nd$_2$O$_3$were segregated at the nodal points and grain boundaries and were found to form the Nd-rich phase. In addition the bulk intergranular layer at the grain boundaries and nodal points was consisted of Nd-rich phase and Pr-rich phase. the average grain size was decreased in the range of 7.8 to 5.6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ with increasing Nd$_{2}$/O sub 3/ additive content. The nonlinearity of ZnO varistors sintered at 130$0^{\circ}C$ was much more excellent than that at 135$0^{\circ}C$ ZnO varistors doped with 1.0mol% Nd$_{2}$/O sub 3/ exhibited the best nonlinearity. which is 65.2 in the nonlinear exponent and 4.5$\mu$A in the leakage current. Consequently. it is estimated that Pr$_{6}$/O sub 11/ -based ZnO varistors doped with 1.0 mol% Nd$_{2}$/O sub 3/ are to be sufficiently used as basic composition to fabricate good varistors in the future.ure.
Objectives: This study was conducted to estimate the related health risk by investigating the content of biogenic amines (BAs) in commercial fermented alcoholic beverages. Methods: Ninety-seven samples, including takjus (34), fruit wines (26), distilled liquors (20) and beers (17) were purchased in Gangwon-do (Province) in 2019. The eight BAs (putrescine, cadaverine, spermine, spermidine, tyramine, β-phenylethylamine, histamine, and tryptamine) were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC) after extraction (0.4 M HClO4), pigment removal (carbon cartridge) and derivatization (1% dansylchloride). The health risk of exposure to BAs due to ingestion of commercial fermented alcoholic beverages was estimated as the margin of exposure (MOE). Results: Various BAs were detected in takju, fruit wine, distilled liquor and beer. Putrescine (not detected (ND)-12.60 mg/L), cadaverine (ND-5.45 mg/L), tyramine (ND-8.34 mg/L), β-phenylethylamine (ND-13.73 mg/L), histamine (ND-7.96 mg/L), and tryptamine (ND-19.00 mg/L) were found in takju. Putrescine (ND-15.34 mg/L), cadaverine (ND-7.90 mg/L), β-phenylethylamine (ND-3.06 mg/L), histamine (ND-9.68 mg/L), and tryptamine (ND-14.06 mg/L) were identified in fruit wine. Putrescine (less than limit of detection (

RE(Nd, Sm) elements doped (RE/Y)$_{1.8}$B $a_{2.4}$C $u_{3.4}$$O_{7-x}$ [(RE/Y)1.8] high $T_{c}$ superconductors were directionally grown by Top Seed Melt Growth(TSMG) process in air atmosphere. The (001)melt-textured N $d_{1.8}$B $a_{2.4}$C $u_{3.4}$$O_{7-X}$(Nd1.8) seed crystals were used for achieving the c-axis alignment large grains perpendicular to surface of the samples. The (RE/Y)1.8 SEM micrographs of the melt-textured (RE/Y)1.8 samples revealed that the nonsuperconducting (RE/Y)211 inclusions are uniformly distributed in the superconducting (RE/Y)123 matrix except the region very close to the Nd seed crystal. The microstructure and superconducting properties were investigated by XRD, SEM, TEM and SQUID magnetometer. The Melt-textured (RE/Y)1.8 samples showed an onset $T_{c}$=91K and sharp superconducting transition. Also, the magnetization value of the (RE/Y)1.8 samples were compared with those of Y1.8 sample at 77 K. 77 K. 77 K. 77 K.K.
$NdFe_{10.7}Ti_{1.3}$ has been studied with X-ray diffraction, Mossbauer spectroscopy and vibrating sample magnet-ometer(VSM). The alloys were prepared by arc-melting under an argon atmosphere. The $NdFe_{10.7}Ti_{1.3}$ contains some $\alpha-Fe$, from X-ray and Mossbauer measurements. The $NdFe_{10.7}Ti_{1.3}$ has the $ThMn_{12}$-type tetragonal struc-ture with $a_{0}=8.607{\AA}\;and\;c_{0}=4.790{\AA}$. The Curie temperature ($T_c$) of the $NdFe_{10.7}Ti_{1.3}$ is 590 K from $M\"{o}ssbauer$ spectroscopy performed at various temperatures ranging from 13 to 800 K. Each spectrum below $T_c$ was fitted with six subspectra of Fe sites in the structure$(8i_{1},\;8i_{2},\;8j_{2},\;8j_{1},\;8f\;and\;{\alpha}-Fe)$. The area fractions of the subspectra at room temperature are 13.8%, 15.4%, 17%, 16.4%, 34.1% and 3.3%, respectively. Magenetic hyperfine fields for the Fe sites decrease in the order, $H_{hf}(8i)>H_{hf}(8j)>H_{hf}(8f)$. The abrupt changes in the magnetic hyperfine field, isomer shift and magnetic moment observed at about 180 K in $NdFe_{10.7}Ti_{1.3}$ are attributed to spin reorientation.

$CaTiO_3-x(La_{1/3}Nd_{1/3}TiO_3\;(0\le \textrm x\le0.8)$ system was prepared by reaction of $CaCO_3,\;LaO_3,\;Nd_2CO_3$ and ,TEX>$TiO_2$ mixture at 1673 K, which can be applied for microwave dielectric ceramic materials. The lattice parameters of(1-x))$CaTiO_3-x(La_{1/3}Nd_{1/3}TiO_3\;(0\le \textrm x\le0.8)$ system increased with the increase of x. Its structure was investigated by Rietveld profile-analysis of XRD in detail. Cations $ La^{3+}$ and Nd^{3+}$ were located at the $Ca^{2+}$ site in the range of $0\le \textrm x\le0.8$. crystal structure in $;(0\le \textrm x\le0.6)$ maintained space group Pnma with CaTiO_3 structure. The tiled and distorted $TiO_6$ was gradually released with the increase of x in $0\le \textrm x\le0.6$ .The structure was changed to a new space group of $Pmn2_1$ at the x value of 0.8. The relative dielectric constant $(\epsilon_r)$ of $(1-x)CaTiO_3-x(La_{1/3} Nd_{1/3})TiO_3$ ($(0\le \textrm x\le0.8)$) system was exponentially decreased by with the increased of x. The temperature coefficient of resonant frequency $(\tau_f)$ decreased with the increase of x in $0\le \textrm x\le0.6$ and then increased again at x=0.8 due to the change of crystal structure. The value of Q$\cdot f_o$ was 13800 (GHz) at x=0.2 and was very low under 2000 (GHz) in 0.4$\leq$x$\leq$0.8.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the anesthetic Effecs of pulsed Nd:YAG laser irradiation to the oral mucosa and the teeth. Twenty subjects who didn't have a history of significant systemic or current oral disease were included in this study. All the subjects were divided randomly into the experimental group and the control group with 10 for each group. Pain thresholds were measured with Weighted Needle Pinprick Sensory Threshold Test for the mucosal surface of lower lip and with electric pulp test for the upper right central incisor respectively, before and immediately after pulsed Nd:YAG laser irradiation in the condition of 2 watt, 20pps for 2 minute at 10mm distance. The experiment was double-blinded clinical trial. The results were as follows : 1. The mean pain threshold of the mucosal surface of lower lip for Weighted Needle Pinprick Sensory Threshold Test was 2.94(1.00g for the contral group respectively, and there was no statistical difference between two groups. 2. The mean pain threshold of the mucosal surface of lower lip was significantly increased immediately after pulsed Nd:YAG laser irradiation. 3. The mean pain threshold of the upper right central incisor for eledtric pulp test was 34.50(4.97V in the experimental group and 34.00(13.08V in the control group respectively, and there was no statistical difference between two groups. 4. The mean pain threshold of the upper right central incisor was significantly increased immediately after pulsed Nd:YAG laser irradiation.
