  • In this paper, we study a power allocation technique for Tomlinson-Harashima precoding (THP) in multi-user multiple input single output (MISO) downlink systems. In contrast to previous approaches, a mutual information based method is exploited for maximizing the sum rate of zero-forcing THP systems. Then, we propose a simple power allocation algorithm which assigns proper power level for modulo operated users. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms a conventional water-filling method, and it provides similar performance with near optimal method with much reduced complexity.

  • RFID system is a technique to obtain information of tag using radio frequency. Specificity of RFID systems using radio frequency has many problems that is eavesdropping, location tracking, spoofing attack, replay attack, denial of service attack. So, RFID protocol should be used cryptographic methods and mutual authentication for security and privacy. In this paper, we explain the problem of past protocol and propose the nonfixed symmetric key-based RFID mutual authentication protocol using shift computation and random number. Proposed protocol is secure from various attacks. Because it use shift operation and non-fixed symmetric key.

  • Domestic railway communication in Korea has been introduced for mutual communications among control center, operation staffs, and maintenance staffs. It has been mainly used as railway disaster and safety functions from VHF and UHF from 1980’s and TRS-Astro and TRS-Tetra from the 2000’s. Recently for urban railways communications, 18GHz and 2.4GHz ranges have been utilized for image transmissions and control command communications, respectively. This paper analyzes technical development of LTE-R, LTE communication for Railways, that has been designed as a single integrated railway wireless network in order to merge the current various communication systems. In this paper, we present the details of the examination of the LTE-R test-bed using 2.6GHz test frequency in Daebul test line through CW test and optimization test.

  • For mobile multimedia systems that equip transmit diversity for a forward channel, it is well known that the Tx diversity technique is appropriate for high rate mobile multimedia communications. In this paper, we propose a STTD (Space Time Transmit Diversity) receiver, which incorporates the design of the Tx diversity receiver without the mutual interference of antenna by using a CCI cancellation technique. The new STTD receiver is simulated and its performance is analyzed in a DS-CDMA/QPSK. Adopting the proposed STTD receiver at $10^{-2}$TEX>∼$10^{-4}$TEX> in bit error rate, SNR of 0.5 ㏈∼2 ㏈ performance improvement in AWGN and Rayleigh fading environments has been achieved.

  • With the lanuch of the World Trade Organization(WTO) system, National and international trends toward more liberalized regulation of telecommunications terminal equipments drive the globalization of the telecommunications market. Despite of such trends, most countries have long viewed the type approval system as a major hindrance to overseas maketing because of a hodgepodge of diverse type approval system of telecommunications terminal equipments in each country. But, recently, many countries under these situations try to make a better understanding of respective requeirements of each country's many countries under these situations try to make a better understanding of respective requirements of each country'stype approval system, and where possible to strengthen commonalities, through referred to as "multual recognitio" system for the purpose of the development of procedures for hamonization oftype approval system in "one world, one market". Thus, this paper covers the definition, considerations and the case studies of mutual recognition between countries. Also, this paper suggests the desirable and general model of mutual recognition to be applied all the countries, which are being preparing and processing it.g and processing it.

  • In this paper, the coupling characteristics as well as the self and the mutual Impedance of a two-element probe-fed stacked circular microstrip array antennas are presented. A full wave analysis for the structure is performed In the spectral domain using the vector Hankel transform(VHT). Also, we presented measured results for the impedance, the coupling characteristics of the antenna and the variation of the coupling with the distance between the two elements. Finally, the calculated and measured results are shown to agree well wlth each other through comparisons.

  • This paper is concerned with the reverse link performance of multi-code CDMA systems in multipath fading environments. The degree of orthogonality loss among multiple spreading code channels is characterized as the orthogonality factor. It depends on various system parameters including multipath power profiles of propagation channels and the number of Paths resolved at a Rake receiver. The effect of the parameters on the system performance is then investigated in terms of bit error rate and required signal quality. The results show that multipath delay power profiles dominantly affect mutual interference among multi-code channels and multipath combining gain by bandwidth expansion is not so great due to the increase of the mutual interference. Moreover, the orthogonality factor is derived as the value of between (1/m) and 1.

  • In this paper, aperture coupled stacked microstrip array antennas are proposed and their operating characteristics are analyzed based on analytical. In order to evaluate mutual coupling between slot-coupled microstrip patches in finite array, analysis uses the reciprocity theorem and the spectral domain Green's functions for dielectric slab in a moment method solution for the unknown patches and solts current distrbution. By introducing an N-port equivalent network, the impedance matrix of an affay of N-element slot-coupled patches is evaluated directly from its network current matix of order N$^{2}$, and it can be programmed to be run on a PC. Numerical results show mutual coupling, radiation pattern, active reflection coefficient versus scan angle, radiation efficiency and active element gain pattern.

  • In a smart grid environment, data for the usage and control of power are transmitted over an Internet protocol (IP)-based network. This data contains very sensitive information about the user or energy service provider (ESP); hence, measures must be taken to prevent data manipulation. Mutual authentication between devices, which can prevent impersonation attacks by verifying the counterpart's identity, is a necessary process for secure communication. However, it is difficult to apply existing signature-based authentication in a smart grid system because smart meters, a component of such systems, are resource-constrained devices. In this paper, we consider a smart meter and propose an efficient mutual authentication protocol. The proposed protocol uses a matrix-based homomorphic hash that can decrease the amount of computations in a smart meter. To prove this, we analyze the protocol's security and performance.
