  • While there are lots of studies on examining the effects of social rapport in many research areas, however, there is a little work in examining the effect of the social rapport in social network service (SNS) contexts. Thus, this study attempts to examine the effect of social rapport in SNS settings. To address the research questions, this study has presented its hypotheses and conducted three experimental approaches by collecting 180 data from student subjects who have prior experiences on using SNSs to verify the hypotheses. This study has examined three experiments the effects of characteristics of Facebook(i.e. the number of mutual friends, the number of post likes, and the post personalities) on the social rapport and user responses. This study has conducted two-way ANOVA to verity its proposed research hypotheses. Based on three experiments, this study found that both the effects of the number of post likes and the number of post likes on the social rapport were not significant. Based upon empirical findings, this study has demonstrated how the effects of social rapports in SNSs were different from those of previous studies, and brought more attentions to the relevant literature.

  • Near Field Communication is an emerging short-range wireless connectivity technology that offers proximity and different operating modes. Particularly, NFC technology has the potential to revolutionize mobile applications like payment and ticketing because NFC is more complex and mutual connectivity than RFID as the simple tag reader. Finally, NFC security technology defines the robust security protocols. This paper will specify and analyze the NFC security technology, and study the chance and its beneficial effect of the UICC card as the NFC Secure Element.

  • The effect of manufacturing parameters on friction characteristics of motorcycle break system was studied using a disk-on-pad type friction tester. Such parameters conditions have an effect on the frictional factor such as applied load, sliding speed, and number of ventilated disk hole. However, it is difficult to know the mutual relation of these factors. In this study, the friction characteristics using design of experiment containing 3 elements were investigated for an optimal condition for the best motorcycle break system employing Full factorial design. From this study, the result was shown that the applied load in frictional factors was the most important, next to sliding speed, number of ventilated disk hole.

  • Pervaporation experiments of ternary ethanol/isopropanol/water mixtures were performed using poly(dimethyl siloxane)(PDMS) membrane at $45^{\circ}C$ and the mutual effects of ethanol and isopropanol on the permeation characteristics were studied. Compared to the case of the binary aqueous ethanol or isopropanol solutions, the existence of ethanol or isopropanol in the ternary mixtures resulted in the depression of each other's permeation rate. The depression effect of ethanol on the isopropanol permeation was more considerable than the depression effect of isopropanol on the ethanol permeation. These decreases in the permeation rate were thought to be due to the larger interactions between permeants than the plasticizing effects of ethanol or isopropanol on the polymer membrane. The strong interactions between permeants reduced the driving forces for both ethanol and isopropanol permeation in the ternary mixtures.

  • The effect of the finite substrate size on the radiation characteristics of H-plane linear microstrip array antennas is investigated. The radiation characteristics versus scan angle are systematically analyzed for 5-element H-plane linear array antennas with various substrate sizes and element spacings for the substrates with different dielectric constants. The distance between the antenna center and the substrate edge on the E-plane for the enhancement of the radiation characteristics of the array antenna is presented.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of relationship variables between mother-in-law and son-inlaw on a son-in-law's relation-satisfaction and negative perception. The son-in-law subjects were 319 married men aged 20-70 years, who were living their mother-in-laws in Daegu, Kyungpook, the Seoul National Capital Area(Seoul, Kyeonggy, Incheon), Busan or Kyungnam. The major findings of this study are as follows: (1) there was a significant difference in a son-in-law's relation-satisfaction of his relationship with his mother-in-law according to the number of children and (2) mutual support and a mother-in-law's conflicting attitude toward her son-in-law affected the son-in-law's relation-satisfaction and negative perception of his relationship with his mother-in-law.

  • In case that conventional PRC(Pseudo-Randomized Frequency Carrier) modulation scheme is applied to a three-phase HBML(H-Bridge Multi-Level Inverter), the dominant harmonics spectra appear at twice switching frequency. In this paper, the dominant harmonics spectra spreading effect of the conventional PRC scheme was improved by using three stage MUXs(Multiplexers) and two triangular carriers with fixed frequency which has mutual relation of the twice frequency. To confirm the validity of the improved PRC scheme, the experiment were performed on a 1.5[kw] three-phase HBML based induction motor drives. And, the harmonics spectra of the conventional and improved PRC schemes are compared and discussed.

  • This research examines the effect of the relatedness and the gap between Resources and mechanisms on effectiveness of inter-organizational knowledge transfer. According to the literature, there has been a competing theory between two claims; one is that inter-organizational knowledge transfer will be more effective due to the reduction of the transaction cost as the relatedness increases. And the other is that the mutual complementarity of different organizational characteristics will increase synergy. In total, the relatedness and the gap of the Resource and mechanism makes the inverted U-shaped relationship with the inter-organizational knowledge transfer. As the result of empirical analysis about 109 Korean-based Joint Ventures entered country, it shows that the relatedness of parent company's production Resources, learning mechanisms, and coordination mechanisms made the inverted U-shaped relations with the inter-organizational knowledge transfer and the gap of production Resources and adjustment mechanism formed the same relationship. However, the U-shaped relationship has been established in the relatedness of market Resources, but the gap of market Resources and the learning mechanism was not statistically significant. Through this study, I can draw a best conclusion that the inter-organizational knowledge transfer will be more effective when the relatedness and the gap of management resources and mechanisms is in optimal level. However, when it comes to market Resources, it can be inferred that the result could be the opposite because the partner country's market environment would be different.

  • A status of air traffic controller is a government officer and air traffic controllers who work at airport are divided by duty rating and work experience. Abiding by law, rules and regulation, air traffic controllers are working together based on mutual trust. This paper's theoretical background is based on cultural bias theory. The theory divide people group into four groups according to cultural bias such as fatalism, hierarchy, individualism and egalitarianism. A research model was designed how such four cultural bias could affect air traffic controller's risk response in case of emergency or abnormal situation during their work. Depend on empirical research, it was found that air traffic controllers perceived they had been more biased to fatalism than hierarchy. The characteristics of fatalism group are as follows: first of all, they follow rigid rules and regulation. However, they have less self-efficacy compared to other government officers. According to structural equation model, air traffic controller's fatalism had a significant negative effect on organizational royalty. Their royalty, however, had a very significant positive effect on planning response and immediate response.

  • Mutual diffusion coefficients of choline chloride were determined by using the diaphragm cell method in aqueous solutions of chondroitin sulfate A at $25^{\circ}C$. The diffusion coefficients of choline chloride in 0.1g/100ml, 0.5g/100ml and 1g/100ml respectively of chondroitin sulfate solutions were compared with those of binary systems of water-choline chloride. At low concentrations, the diffusion coefficients of the choline chloride in the presence of chondroitin sulfate were significantly smaller than the values obtained in the absence of chondroitin sulfate, indicating a strong interaction between these solutes. The effect of this interaction on the diffusion of choline ion is largest at higher chondroitin sulfate concentrations and at lower choline chloride concentrations. The influence of chondroitin sulfate is overcome at higher choline chloride concentrations. Self-diffusion coefficients of choline ion in the presence of chondroitin sulfate are also obtained. Excellent agreements were obtained between the experimental data and the calculated values obtained by using the Manning's equations. These observations suggest that the interaction between choline chloride and chondroitin sulfate involves primarily a long range electrostatic effect and there is no appreciable "condensation" or binding of choline ion to the chondroitin sulfate.
