다변량 통계 기법을 이용한 물리검층 자료로부터의 암석물리학상 결정 (Automatic Electrofacies Classification from Well Logs Using Multivariate Statistical Techniques)

  • 이 연구는 다변량 통계 기법을 이용한 물리검층 자료로부터의 암석물리학상 결정으로 암상을 예측하는 것이다. 기술 통계 분석으로 물리검층 자료의 특성을 파악하고 주성분 분석에 의한 다변량 검층 자료들의 상관도 분석을 통해 변수들을 변환시켜 새로운 변수인 주성분을 구하고 변수들의 차원을 축소한다. 통계적 방법에 의한 주성분 검층 자료의 구획에 의한 효율적 자료 축소와 계산의 효율성을 높여 양질의 해석결과를 얻을 수 있다. 구획된 주성분 검층 자료로부터 계보적 군집 분석에 의해 암석물리학상을 결정한다. 최적 암석물리학상의 수는 전체 변동과 군집내의 변동사이의 비와 코어자료 등에 의해 비교 결정된다. 이 연구에서 개발된 암석물리학상 결정법을 국내대륙붕 물리검층자료에 적용한 결과 결정된 암석물리학상은 시추 코어 및 시추 암편 분석에 의한 암상 구분화와 잘 일치하였다. 이러한 연구는 저류층 특성인자의 신뢰성 있고 정량적인 평가로 유전 개발 및 생산 계획 시 유용한 도구로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

단변량 및 다변량 함수 데이터에 대한 분산분석의 활용 (Application of functional ANOVA and functional MANOVA)

  • 함수 데이터는 다양한 분야에서 수집되고 있으며, 집단 간의 함수 데이터를 비교해야하는 경우가 종종 발생한다. 이럴 경우 점별 분산분석 방법을 이용하여 설명하기에는 무리가 있으며, 통합된 결과를 제시할 필요가 있다. 이에 대한 다양한 연구가 제안되었으며, 최근에 R 패키지 fdANOVA로 구현되었다. 이 논문에서 우선 분산분석 및 다변량 분산분석을 설명하고, 최근에 제안된 다양한 단변량 및 다변량 함수 데이터 분산분석을 설명하고자 한다. 또한 R 패키지 fdANOVA의 사용 방법을 설명하고, 이 패키지를 이용하여 서울과 부산 지역의 주별 기온을 단변량 함수 데이터 분산분석을 통해 비교하고, 손글씨 이미지를 다변량 함수 데이터로 변환하여 다변량 함수 데이터 분산분석을 이용하여 비교하고자 한다.

Assessment of Water Quality using Multivariate Statistical Techniques: A Case Study of the Nakdong River Basin, Korea

  • This study estimated spatial and seasonal variation of water quality to understand characteristics of Nakdong river basin, Korea. All together 11 parameters (discharge, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, 5-day biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, pH, suspended solids, electrical conductivity, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and total organic carbon) at 22 different sites for the period of 2003-2011 were analyzed using multivariate statistical techniques (cluster analysis, principal component analysis and factor analysis). Hierarchical cluster analysis grouped whole river basin into three zones, i.e., relatively less polluted (LP), medium polluted (MP) and highly polluted (HP) based on similarity of water quality characteristics. The results of factor analysis/principal component analysis explained up to 83.0%, 81.7% and 82.7% of total variance in water quality data of LP, MP, and HP zones, respectively. The rotated components of PCA obtained from factor analysis indicate that the parameters responsible for water quality variations were mainly related to discharge and total pollution loads (non-point pollution source) in LP, MP and HP areas; organic and nutrient pollution in LP and HP zones; and temperature, DO and TN in LP zone. This study demonstrates the usefulness of multivariate statistical techniques for analysis and interpretation of multi-parameter, multi-location and multi-year data sets.

다변량 분산분석을 이용한 체인 레스토랑의 재무변수 차이 평가 연구 (Research on the Evaluation of the Differences in Financial Variablesof Chain Restaurants Using Multivariate Analysis of Variance)

  • This research aimed to analyze the differences in financial variables classifying chain restaurants. A total of 126 samples were drawn from financial statements for $2001{\sim}2006$. As a result of analysis, there was a significant difference in Pillai's Trace, Wilks' Lambda, Hotelling's Trace, and Roy's Largest Root values at the significant probability value(p<0.05) based on F value in terms of stability among chain restaurants. Difference was found only in current rate and liabilities in ANOVA. There was a great difference in current rate among institutional restaurants, fast food restaurants, and cafeterias. There was a significant difference in Pillai's Trace, Wilks' Lambda, Hotelling's Trace, and Roy's Largest Root values at the significant probability value(p<0.05) based on F value in terms of restaurants' profitability. In ANOVA, difference was found only in net profits to net sales. It was revealed that all factors showed no significant differences in multiple comparison. All multi-variant test statistics showed a significant difference in growth and turnover. ANOVA showed a significant difference in net sales growth rate, net profit growth rate, and total assets growth rate.

다변량 경시적 자료 분석을 위한 공분산 행렬의 모형화 비교 연구 (Comparison study of modeling covariance matrix for multivariate longitudinal data)

  • 같은 개체로부터 반복 측정한 자료를 경시적 자료(longitudinal data)라고 한다. 이러한 자료를 분석하려면 흔히 사용되는 횡단 자료 분석과는 다른 분석 방법이 필요하다. 즉, 경시적 자료에서 공변량의 효과를 추정할 때에는 반복 측정된 결과 간의 상관성을 고려해야 하며, 따라서 공분산행렬을 모형화 하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 그러나 추정해야 할 모수가 많고, 추정된 공분산행렬이 양정치성을 만족해야 하므로 공분산 행렬의 모형화는 쉽지 않다. 특히 다변량 경시적 자료분석을 위한 공분산행렬의 모형화는 더욱더 심층적인 방법론을 사용해야 한다. 본 논문은 다변량 경시적 자료분석을 위한 공분산행렬을 모형화하기 위해 두 가지 방법론을 고찰한다. 두 방법 모두 수정된 콜레스키 분해(modified Cholesky decomposition)를 이용하여 시간에 따른 응답변수들의 상관관계를 설명하고 있다. 하지만 같은 시간에서 관측된 응답변수들간의 상관관계를 설명하는 방법이 다르다. 첫 번째 방법론에서는 향상된 선형 공분산 모형(enhanced linear covariance models)을 사용하여 공분산행렬이 양정치성을 만족하도록 한다. 두 번째 방법론에서는 분산-공분산 분해(variance-correlation decomposition)와 초구분해(hypersphere decomposition)을 이용하여 공분산 행렬을 모형화 한다. 이 두 방법론의 성능을 비교하고자 모의실험을 진행한다.

Bayesian Analysis of Multivariate Threshold Animal Models Using Gibbs Sampling

  • The estimation of variance components or variance ratios in linear model is an important issue in plant or animal breeding fields, and various estimation methods have been devised to estimate variance components or variance ratios. However, many traits of economic importance in those fields are observed as dichotomous or polychotomous outcomes. The usual estimation methods might not be appropriate for these cases. Recently threshold linear model is considered as an important tool to analyze discrete traits specially in animal breeding field. In this note, we consider a hierarchical Bayesian method for the threshold animal model. Gibbs sampler for making full Bayesian inferences about random effects as well as fixed effects is described to analyze jointly discrete traits and continuous traits. Numerical example of the model with two discrete ordered categorical traits, calving ease of calves from born by heifer and calving ease of calf from born by cow, and one normally distributed trait, birth weight, is provided.

  • This study aimed at elementary, middle, and high school dietitians who purchase ingredients for school meals. Therefore, for the study, the awareness and usage of nutritional information by 108 teachers and dieticians on 5 hazard-free meals using multivariate analysis of variance were investigated during May 18~21, 2021. Among the five questions that asked the general perceptions of school meal dietitians of 5 hazard-free meals, the perception that the "5 hazard-free foods can be easily distinguished" was the lowest. Problems were associated with using the 5 hazard-free meals such as "expensive price," "no variety in items," "disruption in the supply and demand," "inconsistent quality," and "lack of taste," in that order. Therefore, to improve 5 hazard-free school meal service, it is necessary to not only lower the price burden by providing subsidies to schools but also improve the development and distribution structure of various 5 hazard-free foods.

다변량분석에 의한 여수 백야도 어류양식장의 해양 환경분석 (Environmental Evaluation of Fish Aquafarm off Baegyado in Yeosu by Multivariate Analysis)

  • This study was conducted to evaluated the surface(10 variables) and bottom(10 variables) water quality, and sediment(3 variables) in the cage fish farm off Baegyado in Gamak Bay using a multivariate analysis from January 2013 to November 2014. Generally, the environmental data did not show a certain tendency by months during two years investigated. The pairwise simple correlation matrices among variables were also shown. The first four principal components of the surface water in 2013 explain 93% of the total sample variance; the first principal component($z_1$) showed the freshwater inflow and/or precipitation, $z_2$, $z_3$ and $z_4$ related to freshwater inflow and/or precipitation, organic matters and eutrophy, respectively; the first four principal components of the bottom water in 2013 explain 93% of the total sample variance; the $z_1$, $z_2$ and $z_4$ related to freshwater inflow and/or precipitation, and $z_3$ water temperature. In 2014, at the surface water the first three principal components explain 87%; the $z_1$, $z_2$ and $z_3$ related to water temperature, eutrophy and freshwater inflow and/or precipitation, respectively; at the bottom water the first three principal components explain 93%; $z_1$, $z_2$ and $z_3$ related to water temperature, freshwater inflow and/or precipitation and eutrophy. Half of the principal components related to freshwater inflow and/or precipitation.

다변량분석법에 의한 측면전신체형 분류 (Classification and Analysis of the Somatotype through Side View Silhouette of the whole body by Multivariate Method)

  • The purpose of this study was to classify the somatotype based on the side view and to analyze the characteristics of each somatotype. In order to reduce the burden of stocks and increase clothing fitness, systematic information on typical body sizes and somatotypes is essential. The subjects were 206 unmarried women aged from 19-29. Data were collected through anthropometry and photometry and analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis and analysis of variance. As the result of factor analysis for the classification of somatotypes, 8 factors which explain 74.7% of variance were extracted from 35 photometric and 17 anthrometric data. Using factor scores cluster analysis was carried out and the subjects were classified into 4 cluster.Each cluster was classified as bending type, swayback, turning over type and straight type accordding to its position to the relativeplumb line and their side view contour.

여대생들의 의복쇼핑성향에 따른 점포속성중요도, 정보원의 이용, 자기 이미지의 차이에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Differences of Importance of Store Attributes, Use of Information Sources, and Self-Image according to Apparel Shopping Orientation of the Female College Students)

  • The purpose of this study were (1) to segment the female college students according to apparel shopping orientation and (2) to create a profile for each group with regard to impotance of store attributes, use of information sources, and self-image. The questionnaire were administered to the female college students living in Seoul and data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA(analysis of variance), and MANOVA(multivariate analysis of variance). By cluster analysis of apparel shopping orientation factors, four groups are identified : (1) highly involved apparel shopper (44.34%), (2) brand-loyal shopper (24.43%), (3) planned / practical shopper, and (4) apathetic shopper (18.10%) Four groups were then compared through MANOVA on importance of store attributes, use of information, and self-image. Significant differences were found among four groups on three variables. In general. highly involved shopper tend not to be price conscious, enjoy shopping and use the information sources most actively and apathetic shoppers tend to be indifferent to apparel shopping and do not actively use the information sources.
