  • In this paper, we proposed and analyzed a new class of irregular fault-tolerant multistage interconnection network named as Extended-QT(Quad Tree) network. E-QT network is extended QT network. A unique path MIN usually is low hardware complexity and control algorithm. So we proposes a class of multipath MIN which are obtained by adding self-loop auxiliary links at the a1l stages in QT(Quad Tree) networks so that they can provide more paths between each source-destination pair. The routing of proposed structure is adaptived and is based by a routing tag. Starting with the routing tag for the minimum path between a given source-destination pair, routing algorithm uses a set of rules to select switches and modify routing tag. Trying the self-loop auxiliary link when both of the output links are unavailable. If the trying is failure, the packet discard. In simulation, an index of performance called reliability and cost are introduced to compare different kinds of MINs. As a result, the prouosed MINs have better capacity than 07 networks.

  • The automatic forming sequence design system can determine desirable operation sequences even if they have little experience in the design of cold forging process. This system is proposed, which generates forming sequence plans for the multistage cold forging of zxisymmetrical solid products. Since the process of metal forming can be considered as a transformation of geometry, treatment of the geometry of the product is a key in planning processes. Forming sequence for the part can be determined by means of primitive geometries such as cylinder, cone, convex, and concave. By utilizing this geometrical characteristics(diameter, height, and radius),the product geometry is expressed by a list of the pnmitive geometries. Accordingly, the forming sequence design is formulated as the search problem which starts with a billet geometry and finishes with a given product one. Using the developed system, the sequence drawing with all dimensions, which includes the proper sequence of operations for the part, is generated under the environment of AutoCAD. The preliminary choice of some feasible forming sequences can verify by using the finite element simulation.

  • The flow through multistage turbomachinery is affected by the interaction between a rotor and a stator. The interaction is due to the inviscid potential effect and viscous effect between closely spaced rotor and stator airfoils. Three-dimensional, unsteady, incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with a standard $k-{\epsilon}$ model are solved using a non-staggered grid system. This method is applied to the flow through a multistage compressor measured by Stauter et al. The results have shown strong interaction between the rotating and stationary flow field. The decay of rotor wake and the pressure profiles agree very well with experimental data. The wake produced by rotor causes unsteady pressure on the surface of a stator. The rotor/stator interaction produces the unsteady pressure force on the rotor and stator blades.

  • In this paper, a more accurate model than any other ones so far have been proposed for the performance evaluation of muntibuffered banyan-type Multistage Interconnection Networks(MINs)'s under nonuniform traffic condition is obtained. Small clock cycle instead of big clock cycle is used to improve the performance. The accuracy of the proposed model is conformed by comparing with the results from simulation.

  • A multistage hierarchical clustering technique, which is an unsupervised technique, was suggested in this paper for classifying large remotely-sensed imagery. The multistage algorithm consists of two stages. The local segmentor of the first stage performs regiongrowing segmentation by employing the hierarchical clustering procedure of CN-chain with the restriction that pixels in a cluster must be spatially contiguous. This stage uses a sliding window strategy with boundary blocking to alleviate a computational problem in computer memory for an enormous data. The global segmentor of the second stage has not spatial constraints for merging to classify the segments resulting from the previous stage. The experimental results show that the new approach proposed in this study efficiently performs the segmentation for the images of very large size and an extensive number of bands

  • This article presents the asymptotic theory of triple sampling procedure as pertain to estimating the shape parameter of Pareto distribution. Both point and confidence interval estimation are considered within the same inference unified framework. We show that this group sampling technique possesses the efficiency of Anscome (1953), Chow and Robbins (1965) purely sequential procedure as well as reduce the number of sampling operations by utilizing Stein (1945) two stages procedure. The analysis reveals that the technique performs excellent as far as the accuracy is concerned. The present problem differs from those considered by many authors, in multistage sampling, in that the final stage sample size and the parameter's estimate become highly correlated and therefore we adopted different approach.

  • This paper presents an algorithm capable of detecting leading vehicles using a forward-looking camera. In fact, the accurate measurements of the contact locations of vehicles with road surface are prerequisites for the intelligent vehicle technologies based on a monocular vision. Relying on multistage processing of relevant edge features to the hypothesis generation of a vehicle, the proposed algorithm creates candidate positions being the left and right boundaries of vehicles, and searches for pairs to be vehicle boundaries from the potential positions by evaluating horizontal symmetry. The proposed algorithm is proven to be successful by experiments performed on images acquired by a moving vehicle.

  • Risk Assessment is an important area in toxicology and the methodology for risk assessment has been developed. Mathematical models used for risk assessment include one-hit multi-hit, two-stage, probit logistic, multistage, and linearized multistage models. For the assessment of exposure dose, environmental monitoring has been applied, but it has limitation to accurately assess exposure level because the levels in the air, water, foods, and soil may vary depending on time of sampling. In addition, humans can be exposed to various sources of exposure and thus it will be impossible to estimate the total level of exposure in humans by environmental monitoring. To eliminate the limitation of environmental monitoring, a direct measurement of toxic materials or modified biomolecules (called biomarkers) associated with the exposure of toxic materials is needed. Here, scientific basis of biomarkers and future direction have been considered for the assessment of carcinogen exposure and cancer risk in humans.
