유전성 대사 질환의 분자 유전학적 진단 (Molecular Genetic Diagnosis of Inherited Metabolic Diseases)

  • Inherited metabolic diseases (IMD) comprise a large class of genetic diseases involving disorders of metabolism. The majorities are due to defects of single genes that code for enzymes that facilitate conversion of various substances into others. Because of the multiplicity of conditions, many different diagnostic tests are used for screening of IMD. Molecular genetic diagnosis is the detection of pathogenic mutations in DNA and/or RNA samples and is becoming a much more common practice in medicine today. The purpose of molecular genetic testing in IMD includes diagnostic testing, pre-symptomatic testing, carrier screening, prenatal diagnosis, preimplantation testing, and population screening. However, because of the complexity, difficulty in interpreting the result, and the ethical considerations, an understanding of technical, conceptual, and practical aspects of molecular genetic diagnosis is mandatory.

Development of hand-held coded-aperture gamma ray imaging system based on GAGG(Ce) scintillator coupled with SiPM array

  • Emerging gamma ray detection applications that utilize neutron-based interrogation result in the prompt emission of high-energy (>2 MeV) gamma-rays. Rapid imaging is enabled by scintillators that possess high density, high atomic number, and excellent energy resolution. In this paper, we evaluate the bright (50,000 photons/MeV) oxide scintillator, cerium-doped Gd2Al2Ga3O12 (GAGG(Ce)). A silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) array is coupled to a GAGG(Ce) scintillator array (12 × 12 pixels) and integrated into a coded-aperture based gamma-ray imaging system. A resistor-based symmetric charge division circuit was used reduce the multiplicity of the analog outputs from 144 to 4. The developed system exhibits 9.1%, 8.3%, and 8.0% FWHM energy resolutions at 511 keV, 662 keV, and 1173.2 keV, respectively. In addition, a pixel-identification resolution of 602 ㎛ FWHM was obtained from the GAGG(Ce) scintillator array.

통계처리용 소프트웨어 패키지의 품질 비교에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Quality Comparison of Software Packages for Statistical Analyses)

  • The multiplicity of software packages brings about a choice problem to the end-user and a multi-fold intensity to the competing developer. This study intends to provide guidelines solving the problems for both the end-user and the developer of packages for automatic statistical analyses. For the purpose, we adopt an appropriate evaluation model in terms of user-perceived quality through the applicable criteria and an evaluation method. The result of empirical study is described, which shows that the weight of each criterion is dynamic along usage levels. Briefly, functionality, usability, and reliability are key factors to contribute to the perceived quality. The empirical study also illustrates a comparative analysis on the dominant products, SAS and SPSS, in Korea.

대학 미적분학 수준별 교육 사례와 수치연산 소프트웨어를 활용한 교육과정 개발 연구 (A case study on differentiated curriculum for the university calculus and the curriculum development using a numerical software)

  • College students have a diverse educational background with the recent multiplicity in university admissions standards and procedures. As a result, their mathematical preparation and performance varies widely. Teaching calculus to such a diverse student group is a demanding task. Differentiated curriculum has been conducted for the university calculus course in Yonsei university for the past five years. A case study on the differentiated curriculum in Yonsei university is presented for the curriculum improvement. With its ideal purpose, the differentiated curriculum has created issues and problems in practice. As an alternative to the ideal differentiated curriculum, this study shows that a computer-based approach using a numerical software could give aids to overcoming the difficulty of inadequately prepared students in the learning process while mathematically sophisticated students could keep interested in the course. This study also presents the useful topics in calculus that can be implemented for computer-based calculus education and provides guidelines for the effective usage.

마우스 피부암에 대한 장뇌삼과 인삼의 특이적 항암 효능 (Differential Anti-Carcinogenic Effect of Mountain Cultivated Ginseng and Ginseng on Mouse Skin Carcinogenesis)

  • 본 연구의 결과, TPA 종양촉진 시작과 함께 실험식이를 급여하였을 때, 장뇌삼은 대조군과 인삼군보다 낮은 피부종양발생수를 나타내었으며 종양발생률에서도 대조군과 인삼군에 비해 장뇌삼군에서 종양의 발생이 지연되는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, DMBA 종양개시 한 달 전부터 실험 종료 시까지 실험식이를 급여하였을 때는 대조군과 장뇌삼군에 비해 인삼군의 종양발생수가 감소된 것으로 나타나 인삼은 암 예방효능이 장뇌삼보다 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 장뇌삼과 인삼은 마우스 피부암이 아닌 다른 상피세포성 암에 대해서도 각각 이러한 효능을 보일 것인지에 대해서 후속연구가 요구되며 또한 앞으로 인삼과 장뇌삼의 유효성분을 발굴하고 이를 더욱 효과적으로 섭취할 수 있는 방법이 개발되어야 할 것으로 생각된다. 아울러 질적으로 우수한 우리나라 장뇌삼과 인삼이 건강기능식품으로서 뿐만 아니라 암 예방과 암치료에 사용될 수 있는 대체의약품으로 개발되기 위해서는 실질적인 임상치료 연구와 더불어 보다 구체적인 과학적 기능 규명연구가 필요하다고 생각된다.

  • Let (R, m) be a d-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay local ring with infinite residue field. Let I be an ideal of R that has analytic spread ℓ(I) = d, satisfies the Gd condition, the weak Artin-Nagata property AN-d-2 and m is not an associated prime of R/I. In this paper, we show that if j1(I) = λ(I/J) + λ[R/(Jd-1 :RI+(Jd-2 :RI+I):R m)] + 1, then I has almost minimal j-multiplicity, G(I) is Cohen-Macaulay and rJ(I) is at most 2, where J = (x1, , xd) is a general minimal reduction of I and Ji = (x1, , xi). In addition, the last theorem is in the spirit of a result of Sally who has studied the depth of associated graded rings and minimal reductions for m-primary ideals.

빙축열조를 이용한 냉매과냉각 시스템 기초연구 (Basic Study on Sub-cooling System using Ice storage tank)

  • Experimental basic study was performed to understand the characteristics of sub-cooled refrigerant using a cold heat storage system. This system was made up general vapor-compression refrigeration cycle added sub-cooler and ice storage tank. The purpose of this study are to application use of cold-heat storage systems multiplicity of fields and to understand of sub-cooling system. At the condition using ice storage system, the ice making process was operated during night time by electric power. And then, the refrigerant was sub-cooled using stored cold-heat after being discharged from the air cooling condenser during the day time. Comparing the result at general operation with the operation using sub-cooling system. This study showed the effects of the sub-cooled degree. The cooling performance was increased owing to the sub-cooling of refrigerant during day time, and the compressor consume power was a little decreased. Thus the COP was also increased owing to the sub-cooling of refrigerant.

피코초 레이저를 이용한 초소수성 표면 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on Surface Fabrication of Super Hydrophobic using Pico Second Laser)

  • Recently, a study for the functional surface production of super hydrophobic of natural and biomimetic artificial has attracted much attention. To make process methods of super hydrophobic surface has a variety of ways such as lithography, etching, and laser ablation. However, we were used ultra-shot pulse laser ablation process which has the virtue of more environmental friendliness and simple process. In this paper, we were fabricated a multiplicity of super hydrophobic patterns on mold surface(NAK80) using by optimizing the laser processing conditions and it was transferred on PDMS. Also, we measured contact angle super hydrophobic patterns on PDMS. The result showed there is no patterns on PDMS were measured 94 degrees, by contrast, optimized super hydrophobic patterns on PDMS was 157 degrees. Therefore we fabricated super hydrophobic surface on mold. Based on these experimental results, it is possible to mass production using ultra shot pulse laser ablation of super hydrophobic pattern and to be applied for a variety of industries.

코드할당에 의한 다치논리함수의 모듈러 함수분해에 관한 연구 (A modular function decomposition of multiple-valued logic functions using code assignment)

  • This paper presents modular design techniques of multiple-valued logic functions about the function decomposition method and input variable management method. The function decomposition method takes avantage of the property of the column multiplicity in a single-column variable partitioning. Due to the increased number of identical modules, we can achieve a simpler circuit design by using a single T-gate, which can eliminate some of the control functions in the module libraty types. The input variable management method is to reduce the complexity of the input variables by proposing the look up table which assign input variables to a code. In this case as the number of sub-functions increase the code-length and the size of the code-assignment table grow. We identify some situations where shard input variables among sub-functions can be further reduced by a simplicication technique. According to the result of adapting this method to a function, we have demonstrated the superiority of the proposed methods which is bing decreased to about 12% of interconnection and about 16% of T-gate numbers compare with th eexisting for th enon-symmetric and irregular function realization.

이동 무선 환경에서의 TCM 및 MTCM의 성능 비교 평가 (A Study on the performance evaluation with TCM and MTCM in the mobile radio environment)

  • 통신의 신뢰도를 향상시키고 오율이 적은 통신을 하고자 할 때 부호화 기법을 사용하며, 블록코드나 콘볼루션 코드와 같은 에러 정정부호를 사용하려면 전송할 정보비트에 부가정보를 추가하여야 한다. 그러나 부가정보를 사용하면 신뢰성은 커지나 대역폭 효율은 떨어진다. 따라서 대역폭이 제한된 환경에서 데이터 전송률의 변동없이 큰 부호화 이득을 얻을 수 있는 방법이 꾸준히 연구되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 Ungerboeck가 설계한 TCM과 Divsalar가 제안한 다중화 지수 2의 다중 트렐리스 변조 (Multiple trellis-coded modulation) 최적 부호기를 설계하고 상태수에 따른 TCM과 MTCM의 성능을 Monte Carlo 방법을 이용하여 비교 평가하였다.
