The household characteristics dealt with were family income, household size, number of earners, age, occupation, education, housing tenure, and urbanization. Compared to salary earner households, blue-colored households had significantly lower average propensity to save, and the households with professionals had significantly higher financial assets. The college-graduated households tended to have less monthly savings than the elementary-graduated households. Also, the housing renters were found to have more monthly savings and higher average propensity to save, compared to the housing owners.

The conclusions are as follows: First, the middle-class housewives tend to give more importance on children issues, especially on academic achievement and career development. Second, family cohesion of middle-class families is comparatively high and intra-familial conflict is low, and middle years crisis of housewives is comparatively low, too. The total 29 family day care centers were selected for the observations. The interviews and survey were conducted with 44 caregivers working there. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, analysis of variance and multiple regressions. According to the findings of the study, most family day care centers in apartment unit were to keep the laws related to the locations, number of children, etc. Also, the caregivers were satisfied with the general physical conditions of the centers, while they tended to be less satisfied with the space for themselves. The purpose of this study were 1) to identity housing fund by the type of housing mobility and 2) to analyze the variable contributing to housing fund by the type of housing mobility. For these purposes, the 1993 KHPSD data was used and the sample in this study consisted of 2,796 couple households. Statistics employed for the analysis were frequencies, means, univariate analysis and multiple regression analysis. As the results, the composition and the amount of housing fund according to the type of housing mobility, were different respectively. Housing fund was consisted of previous housing sales price, savings deposits, loans, inheritance, subsidy, and personal debts. Households who already own houses used housing finance for their housing fund easily while renters were at a disadvantage to use housing finance. Moreover, among the contributing factors, home ownership, number of family member, residence, average monthly income, average monthly expenditure, husband's education attainment, satisfaction with housing, husband's job, and the type fo housing were positively associated with the amounts of housing funds. However, duration fo residence tended to negatively related to the amounts of housing funds.
This study examined the population movement of the young generation in accordance with the characteristics of housing market focusing on the housing problem of youth issues. Targeting 64 local governments in the seoul metropolitan area, the temporal range was decided as 2015. Setting up the rising population in 19-34 as a dependent variable, supposing that each age group shows different characteristics, it was divided into age groups in 19~34, 19~29, and 25~34. The population movement of the young generation in accordance with the characteristics of housing market was considered through the multiple regression analysis. In the results, the population movement of the young generation was influenced by the change in detached multi-family housing and the rate of housing supply. The increase of detached multi-family housing promoted the population inflow of the young generation while the population movement of the young generation was disturbed by the rising rate of housing supply. Also, when the local characteristics are not controlled, the young generation hesitates to enter the region where relatively high rent should be paid while the new housing supply focusing on apartment is hard to be selected by the young generation for residence because of the size and price. The population movement of the young generation looked quite different in each age group. The population inflow of the young generation in 19~29 was influenced when there were many officetels and non-apartments on top of detached multi-family housing. On the contrary, the population movement of the young generation in 25~34 was significantly influenced by the increase of the whole size of completed apartment area. Even though it was not the research subject of this study, among control variables, the financial independence and daily average number of get-on/off had effects on the movement of the young generation. It means that the housing type preferred by college students and social novices is different from the housing type preferred by the group with experiences in marriage and childbirth within the same young generation. Thus, it would be necessary to divide the purposes of policies for each subject when executing the youth housing policies.
The purpose of this study was to suggest a future senior housing plan by examining the preference of aged women in urban areas. The subjects were 465 elderly women in Seoul and statistics employed for the analysis were frequencies, means, Chi-square test, multiple regression analysis. Results were as follows : The respondents prefered senior housing located in suburbs. The most important locational factors were accessibility to garden and the aged women wanted living 20 minutes apart by walking or driving from their children's house. There was a tendency of moving toward three-generation house sharing kitchen and enterence with their children or assisted living which cared by warden as they get senile -living alone, poor income and poor health condition-.
The housing market requires customized housing to be supplied according to the various characteristics of households. Multinominal Logistic Regression was used to analyze the effects of variables of household characteristics according to the number of family members on the choice of housing size in the scope of the whole country's housing market. Analysis showed that the number of family members has its own characteristics. When a household has a smaller number of family members, there are more variables affecting choice of housing size. Living and housing expenses variables served as significant variables that affect all household types. Results showed that households with more living and housing expenses are more likely to choose a large sized house and where households have a greater number of family members, there is more influence on that choice. The age of the householder was only found to be a meaningful variable in 1-2 person households and 3-4 person households, particularly in the choice of a small or large sized house. This shows that the age of the householder does not play an important role in choosing medium sized houses for households of under 4 people, but affects the choice of small and large sized houses. The academic ability of household members also served as a significant variable. While 1-2 person households with high academic ability tend to select a large sized house, 3-4 person households with high academic ability tend to select a small sized house. It is observed that members of both 1-2 person households and 3-4 person households tend to select their house between a large sized house and a small sized house in order to own their own houses. The result of this research suggests that there are various and detailed variables on the choice of housing size. Especially, a notable result is that household characteristics more significantly affect the housing size choice of 1-2 person households, while the trend of an aging society will more significantly affect a 3-4 person households' choice of a large sized house. Therefore, a study on the choice of housing size according to characteristics of elderly households and 1-2 person households should be continually analyzed.
