Game-Theoretic Analysis of Selfish Secondary Users in Cognitive Radio Networks

  • In this paper, we study the problem of selfish behavior of secondary users (SUs) based on cognitive radio (CR) with the presence of primary users (PUs). SUs are assumed to contend on a channel using the carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) and PUs do not consider transmission of SUs, where CSMA/CA protocols rely on the random deference of packets. SUs are vulnerable to selfish attacks by which selfish users could pick short random deference to obtain a larger share of the available bandwidth at the expense of other SUs. In this paper, game theory is used to study the systematic cheating of SUs in the presence of PUs in multichannel CR networks. We study two cases: A single cheater and multiple cheaters acting without any restraint. We identify the Pareto-optimal point of operation of a network with multiple cheaters and also derive the Nash equilibrium of the network. We use cooperative game theory to drive the Pareto optimality of selfish SUs without interfering with the activity of PUs. We show the influence of the activity of PUs in the equilibrium of the whole network.

Performance analysis of SWIPT-assisted adaptive NOMA/OMA system with hardware impairments and imperfect CSI

  • This paper investigates the effect of hardware impairments (HIs) and imperfect channel state information (ICSI) on a SWIPT-assisted adaptive nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA)/orthogonal multiple access (OMA) system over independent and nonidentical Rayleigh fading channels. In the NOMA mode, the energy-constrained near users act as a relay to improve the performance for the far users. The OMA transmission mode is adopted to avoid a complete outage when NOMA is infeasible. The best user selection scheme is considered to maximize the energy harvested and avoid error propagation. To characterize the performance of the proposed systems, closed-form and asymptotic expressions of the outage probability for both near and far users are studied. Moreover, exact and approximate expressions of the ergodic rate for near and far users are investigated. Simulation results are provided to verify our theoretical analysis and confirm the superiority of the proposed NOMA/OMA scheme in comparison with the conventional NOMA and OMA protocol with/without HIs and ICSI.

Deep Reinforcement Learning-Based Edge Caching in Heterogeneous Networks

  • With the increasing number of mobile device users worldwide, utilizing mobile edge computing (MEC) devices close to users for content caching can reduce transmission latency than receiving content from a server or cloud. However, because MEC has limited storage capacity, it is necessary to determine the content types and sizes to be cached. In this study, we investigate a caching strategy that increases the hit ratio from small base stations (SBSs) for mobile users in a heterogeneous network consisting of one macro base station (MBS) and multiple SBSs. If there are several SBSs that users can access, the hit ratio can be improved by reducing duplicate content and increasing the diversity of content in SBSs. We propose a Deep Q-Network (DQN)-based caching strategy that considers time-varying content popularity and content redundancy in multiple SBSs. Content is stored in the SBS in a divided form using maximum distance separable (MDS) codes to enhance the diversity of the content. Experiments in various environments show that the proposed caching strategy outperforms the other methods in terms of hit ratio.

전송률 분할 다중 접속 기술을 활용한 비면허 대역의 트래픽과 공정성 최대화 기법 (Unlicensed Band Traffic and Fairness Maximization Approach Based on Rate-Splitting Multiple Access)

  • 다양한 서비스가 등장으로 인해 스펙트럼 부족 문제가 가속하됨에 따라, 면허 대역에서 통신하던 사용자들을 비면허 대역에서 통신하는 NR-U(New Radio-Unlicensed)가 등장하였다. 하지만 NR-U 네트워크 사용자로 인해 동일한 비면허 대역에서 통신하는 Wi-Fi 네트워크 사용자의 성능이 감소하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 NR-U 네트워크 사용자와 WiFi 네트워크 사용자가 공존해있는 비면허 대역의 처리량과 비면허 대역의 사용에 대한 공평성을 동시에 최대화하는 것을 목표로 한다. 먼저 비면허 대역에서 전송률 분할 다중 접속 기술을 활용한 NR-U 네트워크의 합-전송 속도 (Sum of Rate)를 최대화하기 위해 강화 학습의 몬테 카를로 정책 하강법(Monte Carlo Policy Gradient)을 활용한 최적의 전력 할당 기법을 제안하였다. 그 뒤, 동일한 비면허 대역에서 NR-U 네트워크와 WiFi 네트워크의 공존을 위해 시스템 처리량과 공정성을 동시에 최대화할 수 있는 게임 이론의 순차적 라이파 협상 해법(Sequential Raiffa Bargaining Solution)을 활용한 채널 점유 시간 분할 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과에서 동일한 전력 할당 기법을 사용하였을 때, 본 논문에서 제안한 전송률 분할 다중 접속 기술이 기존의 다중 접속 기술들보다 더 빠른 합-전송속도를 보임을 확인하였다. 또한 비면허 대역 네트워크의 전송량과 공평성을 비교해본 결과 본 논문의 순차적 라이파 협상 해법을 활용한 채널 점유 시간 분할 알고리즘이 타 알고리즘보다 처리량과 공정성을 동시에 만족함을 입증하였다.

협력 인지 통신망에서의 전 이중 통신 (Full-Duplex Communication in Cooperative Cognitive Radio Network)

  • 이제까지의 협력 인지 통신망에서는 쓰는 이들이 거의 대부분 서로 반 이중 방식으로 신호를 주고 받았다. 이 논문에서는 부 쓰는이들이 전 이중 통신 기술을 쓰는 협력 인지 통신망을 제안하고 그 성능을 간단히 살펴본다. 제안한 방식에서는 협력 인지 통신망의 부 쓰는이들이 동시 송수신 안테나를 쓰는 환경을 생각하여, 전 이중으로 통신할 수 있도록 하였다. 제안한 방식에서 이룰 수 있는 전송률을 해석적으로 얻고, 이제까지의 협력 인지 통신망보다 전송률 성능이 더 높다는 것을 수치적인 계산으로 보인다.

  • CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access)는 이동통신에서 다수의 사용자들이 동시에 시간과 주파수를 공유하며 접속이 가능한 다중접속(Multiple Access) 방식의 하나이다. 그렇지만 이동통신은 주파수라는 한정된 자원을 이용하기 때문에 용량이 제한된 가용 주파수 자원을 여러 사람이 효율적으로 공유할 수 있도록 하는 다중접속이 이동통신에서는 필수적인 기술이다. CDMA는 홈네트워크, 군사용, 상업용뿐만 아니라 의료분야에까지도 다양하게 응용되어가고 있다. 본 논문은 기존 양면보드 방식이 아닌 PCB 8계층의 적층방식을 단면보드 회로로 구성하여 RF(Radio Frequency)특성을 유지하며, 슬롯형의 커넥터를 적용한 Cellular Band의 CDMA 모듈의 설계 및 성능 분석 결과를 제시한다.

On Antenna Orientation for Inter-Cell Interference Coordination in Cellular Network MIMO Systems

  • Next-generation (4G) systems are designed to support universal frequency reuse (UFR) to achieve best use of valuable spectra. However, it leads to undesirable interference level near cell borders. To control this, 4G systems adopt techniques, such as network multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC), to improve cell-edge throughput. Network MIMO aims at mitigating inter-cell interference towards cell-edge users (CEUs) through multi-cell cooperation, where each collaborative base station serves both cell-center users (CCUs) and CEUs, including other cells' CEUs, under a power constraint. The present ICIC strategies cannot be directly applied to network MIMO because they were designed in absence of multi-cell coordination. In the presence of network MIMO, this paper investigates antenna orientations in ICIC and the method of power management. Results show that a proper antenna orientation can improve the cell-edge capacity and meantime lower the interference to CCUs. Capacity inconsistency between CCUs and CEUs is detrimental to mobile communications. Simulation results show that the proposed power management for ICIC in network MIMO systems can achieve a uniform data rate regardless users' position.

SINR loss and user selection in massive MU-MISO systems with ZFBF

  • Separating highly correlated users can reduce the loss caused by spatial correlation (SC) in multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) systems. However, few accurate analyses of the loss caused by SC have been conducted. In this study, we define signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) loss to characterize it in multiuser multiple-input single-output (MU-MISO) systems, and use coefficient of correlation (CoC) to describe the SC between users. A formula is deduced to show the accurate relation between SINR loss and CoC. Based on this relation, we propose a user selection method that utilizes CoC to minimize the average SINR loss of users in massive MU-MISO systems. Simulation results verify the correctness of the relation and show that the proposed user selection method is very effective at reducing the loss caused by SC in massive MU-MISO systems.

모악산 도립공원 관리방안에 과한 기초연구 (A basic study on the users' activities and cognition for management in Moaksan Provincial park)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest objective basic data for park management proposal through the quantitative analysis of users' needs and satisfaction for the actual conditions of management in Moaksand provincial park. For this, users' needs and satisfaction for facilities have been analyzed. And user's satisfaction for the actual conditions of management had been analyzed by using the multiple regression. Users want more toilets and sign boards and to replace damaged facilities. Users gave thought to trail and had high pressure to improvement, and many users were uncomfortable by crowding, and had a positive view to restrict use of intensity. Systematic careful concern about trail and rest area should be need and periodic observation to change of facility condition also. According to the multiple regression analysis, the major variable to the satisfaction for the actual condition of facilities management was trail ground condition.

Performance Analysis of Uplink Cognitive Radio Transmission based on Overloaded MC-DS-CDMA

  • This paper reports a cognitive radio network architecture based on overloaded multicarrier direct sequence code division multiple access (O-MC-DS-CDMA). The O-MC-DSCDMA technique combines CDMA with a multicarrier modulation technique to overcome the channel fading effects. In this technique, secondary users are enabled to share the available bandwidth with the existing primary users. Two sets of orthogonal Gold codes are used to support the primary and secondary users simultaneously. The orthogonality between the spreading codes is lost due to the non-zero cross correlation between the codes and the timing synchronization error in the uplink transmission, which causes interference between primary and secondary users. This paper proposes two modified hybrid parallel/successive interference cancellation techniques for primary and secondary user base station receivers with multiple antennas to suppress the interference among users. Interference among the same group of users is cancelled by parallel interference cancellation and the interference among groups is cancelled using successive interference cancellation. The simulation results confirmed that the proposed modified interference cancellation techniques show better BER performance over conventional interference cancellation techniques.
