온라인 게임을 위한 범용 통신 프로토콜 설계 (A Design of General Communication Protocol for Online Game)

  • When we execute a online game in the network, a lots of game informations and user informations are transfered between game server and game clients. This information has deferent data structure and communication protocol. So, game developers will be design the communication protocols and packet structures after analyze the game. And, they will be design the database for user management. It will be lots of overload to the game developers. From a user point of view, they must be register to each game server to use several games. It is a undesible operation for the game users. This problems are solved by using the communication server which operates commonly with several game servers. Game providers can get the benefit of multiple access of users and get freedom from user management. Game users can access the several games which connected to communication server by register the communication server only. In this paper we design the communication packet and propose a communication protocol which operates on the communication server described previous.

  • The terrestrial/satellite hybrid network may replace or supply the terrestrial network in some areas or certain application. Futhermore, it can play an important role in the development of B-ISDN due to their features of flexible wide coverage, independent of ground distances and geographical constraints, multiple access and multipoint broadcast. Also, satellite have the capability to supply terrestrial ATM and B-ISDN with flexible links for access networks as well as trunk networks. This paper describes the design and verification of the interworking protocol between terrestrial B-ISDN and satellite network. For the verification, the designed interworking protocol is modeled by Petri-net and analyzed by reachability tree.

  • Future microcellular systems will require distributed network control. A packet-switched network is suitable for this requirement. The packet reservation multiple access(PRMA) is a Reservation-ALOHA like protocol for wireless terminals to transmit packet speech to a base station. It allows spatially distributed users in cellular systems to transmit packeted voice and data to a common base station using a shared channel. In the existing PRMA, the problem is that the voice packets may collide with the data packets due to simultaneous channel access. the problem may be a major performance degradation factor to a voice and data mixed system. We propose a new PRMA method that integrates voice and data traffic efficiently by resolving the collision problem between data and voice packets. The proposed PRMA method gives a performance improvement than the existing PRAMA method in terms of voice packet dropping probability and data delay characteristic. From analytic results, we can confirm that the proposed PRMA method show a performance improvement than the existing PRMA protocol.

For example, it may play a major role in global B-ISDN or in certain areas where the deployment of optical cable is not feasible, especially at the early stage of implementing terrestrial B-ISDN. Furthermore, it can play an important role in the development of B-ISDN due to their features of flexible wide coverage, independent of ground distances and geographical constraints, multiple access and multipoint broadcast. Also, satellite have the capability to supply terrestrial B-ISDN/ATM with flexible links for access networks as well as trunk networks. This paper describes the design and verification of the interworking protocol between terrestrial B-ISDN뭉 satellite network. For the verification, the designed interworking protocol is modeled by Petri-net and the model is analyzed by reachability tree.

  • The Home Phoneline Networking Alliance (HomePNA) 2.0 technology can establish a home network using existing in-home phone lines, which provides a channel rate of 4 - 32 Mbps. HomePNA 2.0 Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol adopts an IEEE 802.3 Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection (CSMA/CD) access method, a Quality of Service (QoS) algorithm, and a Distributed Fair Priority Queuing (DFPQ) collision resolution algorithm. In this paper, we analyze the HomePNA 2.0 MAC protocol and propose the architecture of HomePNA 2.0 MAC controller circuit. Then, we present the simulation result of each block included in the HomePNA 2.0 MAC controller.

Multi-Homing RTP (mhRTP) for QoS-guaranteed Vertical Handover in Heterogeneous Wireless Access Networks

  • In this paper, we propose an application layer-based vertical handover management protocol, called multihoming RTP (mhRTP), for real-time applications with seamless mobility across heterogeneous wireless access networks. The proposed multi-homing RTP provides a soft handover by utilizing multiple available wireless access network interfaces simultaneously. The newly available path is dynamically added to the ongoing session by the mhRTP session manager. Also the decision making of QoS-improving or QoS-guaranteed handover is possible based on the estimation of available bandwidth in each candidate network. The performances of the proposed mhRTP have been analyzed through a series of simulations on OPNET network simulator. From the performance analysis, we confirmed that the proposed mhRTP can provide QoS-guaranteed vertical handover with efficient session managements.

  • 본 논문은 랜덤 억세스 LAN 프로토콜인 DMSA 시스템에서 스테이션 분포형태의 효과에 대하여 분석한다. 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션기법을 이용하여 몇가지 스테이션 분포 형태에 대하여 각 스테이션의 utilization을 평가한다. 또한, 스테이션의 숫자가 시스템의 utilization-delay 성능에 미치는 효과를 분석한다.

An Energy Efficient MAC Protocol Providing Guaranteed Service for Wireless Sensor Network

  • In this paper, we propose an Energy Efficient Media Access Control (EE-MAC) protocol for wireless sensor networks. The proposed scheme is designed to save power consumption and guarantee quality-of-service for real-time traffic. EE-MAC uses the superframe structure which is bounded by the transmission of a beacon frame and can have an active and an inactive portion. The active period is divided into the contention free period (CFP) for real-time traffic transmission and the contention access period (CAP) for non-real-time traffic transmission. We propose the exclusively allocated backoff scheme which assigns a unique backoff time value to each real-time node based on bandwidth allocation and admission control. This scheme can avoid collision between real-time nodes by controlling distributed fashion and take effect a statistical time division multiple access. We also propose the algorithm to change the duty cycle adaptively according to channel utilization of media depending on network traffic load. This algorithm can prolong network lifetime by reducing the amount of energy wasted on idle listening.

  • 센서를 통해 수집된 데이터는 모든 정보를 취합하는 기지국으로 전송되게 된다. 센서들은 데이터를 전송하면서 지속적으로 주변 환경에 대한 데이터를 수집하여야 하기 때문에 에너지 소모가 크다. 본 논문에서는 수집된 데이터가 효율적으로 전송되어 트래픽 혼잡을 피하면서 에너지 효율성을 고려하는 기법을 제안한다. 트래픽이 증가하거나 감소할 때 전송률을 제어함으로써 Traffic 혼잡을 피하고, 기본적인 CSMA(Carrier Sense Multiple Access) 프로토콜에 최적의 옵션을 설정하여 각 센서에서 에너지 소모를 최소화는 기법이다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 최적의 CSMA 옵션과 제안된 트래픽 제어 기법을 적용하여 성능을 분석하고, 에너지 효율성과 효과적인 트래픽 제어 방법을 제시한다.

차량 내 무선 센서 네트워크를 위한 충돌 검출 및 해결 프로토콜 (Collision Detection and Resolution Protocol for Intra-Vehicle Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 차량 내 수 많은 센서 노드들이 무선 데이터를 전송할 때 충돌을 검출하고 해결하기 위한 매체접속제어 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안 프로토콜은 데이터 전송 시작 후 랜덤하게 충돌 검출 슬롯을 하나 선택하여 전송을 잠시 멈추고, 해당 채널을 센싱하여 다른 노드와의 충돌 여부를 에너지 레벨과 jam 신호 검출을 통하여 확인한다. 제안 방안은 이러한 충돌 검출 과정을 여러 번 수행함으로써 각 충돌 검출 단계에서 충돌을 인지한 노드는 걸러지고, 다음 단계에서는 살아남은 노드만 경쟁을 계속하여 충돌 해결 확률을 획기적으로 증가시킨다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 다수의 충돌 검출 단계를 사용한 제안 방식이 기존 경쟁 프로토콜보다 우수한 처리율을 갖는다. 또한 충돌 검출 단계의 개수와 충돌 검출 슬롯의 개수에 따라 제안 방안의 성능 변화를 살펴보고 최적 파라미터를 도출하였다.
