  • In the flood of information in the modern society, which is information-oriented society and knowledge engineering society, the transition to learner-centered education is demanded in order to perform the task in hand and solve the problems. In this study, it is considered a prerequisite that students get motivated and interested in Sajasohak to study it. Thus, in teaching Sajasohak in various ways, we intend to design web-based multimedia contents by using a variety of forms of multimedia and apply it to the field(real classroom).

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of sex education using multimedia program on knowledge and attitude about sex. Method: The subjects of this study were 282 middle school boys in seoul. The data were collected from the 4th of Jun. to 30th of Jun. 2001. This program consisted of 6 subtopics and provided 3 sessions for each class. The per-test was given before the therapy to measure variables and the post-test was performed after intervention. The data were analyzed by the SAS program using t-test. Result: The results of this study are as follows. After intervention, the level of knowledge and attitude were increased significantly. Conclusion: The sex education using multimedia program is effective in helping middle school boys improve their healthy attitudes and thoughts toward sex.

  • In this paper, the proposed audio/video control device for multiple user in the multimedia platform is changed for the better a disadvantage that must get one computer per participant to process a floor mode needed for interactive collaboration in the multimedia based distance education. It also proposed simulator of co-work environment that included multimedia data. This developed to proceed a multimedia distance education efficiently and sharing a computer among multiple users. Therefore, this is resulting in a reduction the cost needed to build a multimedia distance education system as well as totally simplified the organization of system. It also offers compatibility and generality, interfacing with the printer port of standard PC supporting the bi-direction mode.

  • Our research team has developed diagnosis papers which diagnose reading ability of students, reading materials and guidance of reading method which are proper for reading ability and various appreciation expression activities in the leveled reading supporting system applying the multimedia techniques, which is developed as a previous research for reading education that considers the reading ability and level of elementary school students. However some difficulties have been raised in activities after reading proper for level because we suggested them all the same regardless of level though we proposed the reading methods and reading materials by level, We tried to develop the leveled activities post-reading applying multimedia techniques which are proper for reading ability of students and exam the effects of leveled reading supporting system considering the subordinate goal of 7th Korean curriculum of elementary school and the ICT standard of the Education Ministry on this thesis for promoting an interest in reading of students. The leveled activities after reading which are applying multimedia techniques could be guided and applied on the web, and helped develop the reading ability and self-leading learning ability by raising the interest and concern of students in the activities after reading because the multimedia elements, instead of existing text, were added to the expression.

The Effect of Using Multimedia Material of Seasonal Change on Middle School Students' Conceptual Changes (계절의 변화 멀티미디어 자료 활용이 중학생의 개념 변화에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify types of preconception on the seasonal change to middle school students and to find out how the developed multimedia material changes their conception in the seasonal change. The questionnaire about the variation of season consisted of 10 items. Questions are given to 80 ninth graders. Control and experimental group was 23 and 57 students, respectively and they were instructed for two class periods. A learning method using multimedia was applied to the experimental group. On the other hand, traditional teaching-learning method was used for the control group. A learning method using multimedia in this study had an effect on the conceptual changes (p$<$0.01). Data in this study was divided into six levels to classify the changes of concepts in detail. As a result, it showed that a learning method using multimedia was effective for students to make progress from unscientific to scientific concepts, to build up scientific concepts, to build up scientific concepts, and to elaborate scientific concepts as compared with traditional method.

  • The objective of this paper is to verify the usefulness and validity of ICT-based elementary education for musical composition using multimedia technology. Cearing with the characteristic of musical education, multimedia technology, which has made dazzling progress thanks to the rapid development of computer for the last several year, is expected to be a new alternative to overcome various problems of musical education and enhance students` musical function and knowledge. In particular, if ICT-based musical education is introduced in teaching musical composition, in which many elementary school techers feel difficulties, significant education effects will be produced. ICT-based musical education method in the paper identified imitation and problems in traditional theory-based learning and musical composition class using musical instruments and, as a part of resolving the limitations and problems, instructed elementary students in how to use a computer program and applied the program to musical composition class. As a result, the method maximized learning effect and improved stusents` ability to create melodies in a short term compared to traditional teaching methods.

  • The Multimedia Contents, such like movies, internet and so on, are the most effective teaching means for generation c[content] learners who are accustomed to the multimedia environment. First, the multimedia contents become appropriate materials in that they help the learners understand the culture and lifestyle of its country through practical and vivid information. Second, they are useful leaning tools for the students who prefer visual media to improve interest and understanding. Third, as students have the time for developing their own contents based on given information, they understand the contents better and also have a indirect learning experience of culture. This means that the learning using multimedia contents has an influence on students' academic achievement. As a result, it is desirable for the application and development of multimedia contents to be suggested as an effective teaching method for foreign culture.

  • Multimedia is now applied to various real worlds. In particular, the focus of CSCW(Computer Supported Cooperated Work) for multimedia education system has increased. DOORAE is a framework for supporting development of applications running on distributed multimedia environment and multimedia distance education system. EDA is a system is able to detect automatically a software error based on distributed multimedia. It has been designed and implemented for construction and experiment of effective DOORAE environment. It detects an error by polling periodically the process with relation to session. Conventional method detects an error by polling periodically all the process. This papaer explains a performance analysis of an error detection system running on distributed multimedia environment using the rule-based SES and DEVS modeling and simulation techniques. In DEVS, a system has a time base, inputs, states, outputs, and functions.

  • This paper discussed actualizing cyber education at the university education. First of all, I discussed the necessity of education based on the multimedia and web according to the change of loaming environment caused by development of technology. I discussed the Cyber education that are important application at university education. Next, I proposed the important elements that are required in constructing the Cyber education. Also, we discussed the structure and platform of Cyber education. Also, I reviewed the foreign and domestic Cyber education based on the multimedia and Web. Finally, I proposed the direction of future Cyber education.

  • Arduino makes it easy to connect objects and computers. As a result, programming learning using physical computing has been proposed as an effective alternative to SW training for beginners. In this paper, we propose an Arduino-based physical computing education method that can be applied to basic programming subjects. To this end, we propose a basic programming training method based on Arduino analog signals. Currently, physical computing courses focus on digital control when connecting input sensors and output devices in Arduino. However, the contents of programming education using analog signals of Arduino boards are insufficient. In this paper, we proposed and tested the teaching method used for programming education using low-cost materials used for Arduino analog signal-based computing.
