이미지 데이터베이스를 구성하여 사용자가 원하는 정보를 추출하는 의미 기반 검색을 지원하기 위해서는 이미지 내용에 관한 의미 정보들이 데이터 모델로 구조화되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 정적 이미지 내용 정보들에 대한 내용 기반 검색과 의미 기반 검색을 제공하는 이미지 데이터 모델을 소개하고 이를 이용하여 이미지가 담고 있는 의미 정보를 표현하고 데이터베이스 스키마로 변환하여 저장하는 구조와 검색하는 방법을 소개한다. 본 이미지 데이터 모델은 이미지내에 포함된 시각 객체들의 내용 정보를 그래프 구조로 표현하고 객체들간의 의미 관계를 정의한다. 이는 이미지 내용에 대한 정확한 정보 표현과 질의와 검색을 가능하게 한다.

This paper presents an authoring system for users to create and edit multimedia documents more easily. Our system supports dynamic authoring to feedback the inconsistency that could be occurred when users authorize and flexible media synchronization. For these, we define a new time relation based on causal relation and provide an internal representation using trees and structured document parsing. The system consists of the components such as visual interface, parsing, and presentation engine. It has been implemented on Microsoft Windows 95 with Visual C++.

Hypermedia systems allow the retrieval and representation of multimedia in- formation such as text, graphics, image and voice/sound using navigation and browsing mechanisms. In this study we developed a hypermedia system which provides hierarchical group, local map and cluster view for effective navigation in hyperspace. The system also supports hot link, reference link, move-to link and multiple link to browse the multimedia information space effectively. This system has been designed to integrate the navigation, browsing and searching function of the hypermedia system in hyman factor perspective and provides the user-friendly user interface mechanism.

인물 정보 검색 시스템은 사용자에게 종합적이고 정확한 정보와 편리한 사용자 인터페이스를 제공해야 한다. 하지만 현재 웹 상에서 이 시스템의 방대한 화장 한자 자료를 표현하는데 EUC-KR은 많은 어려움을 가지고 있다. 그리고 어려운 인명용 한자와 전문 한자 용어로 인해 일반인들의 사용이 어려웠다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 확장된 한자를 표기하기 위하여 UTF-8 인코딩 방식을 사용한다. 그리고 사용자가 알기 원하는 한자의 한글 독음 변환 처리를 통해 데이터베이스의 효율성과 사용자가 쓰기 편한 인터페이스를 제공한다.

Contemporary narrative and documentary share across boundaries between the 'actuality' and the 'creative treatment.' The documentary has blended modes of representation from various genre to reflect the world changing. The narrative movies also has applied the historicality of 'evidence' and 'documents' from documentary to obtain the new form of realism. Boyhood shows a differentiated realism to retain both the narrative structure and the documentary temporality, containing 12 years of timeline with the limited artificial space time. Boyhood also takes the analogical concept of 'the dramatization of the actual materials' from the early documentary films.

Multimedia service via satellite Is supported voice, data, Image and video signals. The representation case model of satellite multimedia are satellite TV. satellite Internet. In the early 1990s, satellite communication and broad casting services successfully expanded form C/Ku band to Ka band. The benefits of operation at Ka-band are greater bandwidth available to accommodate the increased demand for high-speed Information exchange. By the early years of the 21s1 century, millions of households worldwide with dual Ku / Ka-band dishes Satellite multimedia systems receive hundreds of TV channels, originating from around the world, and delivering entertainment, information and education. Many Ku-band satellites have been ordered, but few Ka-band systems are moving into production. So Ka-band systems are characterized that low-cost access to low and high peed, two-way voice, data, and video communications.

This paper describes procedures to model and synthesize emotional speech in a multimedia environment. At first, procedures to model the visual representation of emotional speech are proposed. To display the sequences of the images in synchronized form with speech, MSF(Multimedia Speech File) format is proposed and the display software is implemented. Then the emotional speech sinal is collected and analysed to obtain the prosodic characteristics of the emotional speech in limited domain. Multi-emotional sentences are spoken by actors. From the emotional speech signals, prosodic structures are compared in terms of the pseudo-syntactic structure. Based on the analyzed result, neutral speech is transformed into a specific emotinal state by modifying the prosodic structures.

This paper suggests a multimedia educational system which has the ability to extract intelligent instruction on the distributed environment. The proposed system is designed for supporting individual instruction and real time user interaction. As the system based on CORBA, we put group managing module on it for multi user environment, so it has ability for distributed computing facilities. Using MHEG standard, we can provide multimedia courseware and real time user interaction. To diagnose students' responses and generate evaluations, we use several linguistic variables of fuzzy theory. There are two major advantages for using this system. This system can provide dynamic generation of problems and the ability to provide a dynamic instruction strategy. And it can increase reusability of courseware material for using standard of multimedia representation and communication. We use CORBA and MHEG to overcome the disadvantage of the Web, passive protocol and poor interactivity, HTTP.

리치미디어 서비스는 비디오, 오디오, 텍스트와 같은 다수의 멀티미디어 요소들을 동시에 소비할 수 있으며 시청자의 요구사항을 수용하여 개인화된 데이터에 대한 이용이 가능한 대화형 미디어 서비스를 뜻한다. MPEG(Moving Picture Expert Group)에서는 BIFS(Binary Format for Scenes)와 LASeR(Light Application Scene Representation)를 제정함으로써 리치미디어 서비스를 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 상기 두 표준은 다수의 미디어 콘텐츠간의 시간적, 공간적 배치에 대한 정보와 콘텐츠 간 상호작용을 기술한 장면 구성 정보를 이용함으로써 리치미디어 서비스를 가능하게 하였다. 그러나 기존의 리치미디어 서비스에서는 사용자 및 서비스에 의해서 장면 구성 정보가 변경될 때마다 매번 단말이 가진 기존의 장면 구성 정보를 삭제하고 새로운 장면 구성 정보를 생성 및 분석해야하는 비효율적인 방법으로 장면 전환이 이루어진다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 DOM(Document Object Model) update라는 웹문서 데이터 인터페이스 규격을 사용하여 보다 효율적이고 동적인 장면 구성 변경 방안을 제시하여 장면 전환의 시간적 단축 효과와 장면전환에 따른 화면의 정지 등의 불연속성을 제거하는 효과를 검증하였다.

최근 수년 동안 영상자료와 음성자료 분석에 대한 이론들이 텍스트자료 검색 시스템과 함께 사용되기 위해서 제안되어 왔으며 데이터 처리 속도의 급격한 향상과 함께 발전되어 왔다. 일반적 검색 방법들은 단지 텍스트만을 사용하지만 텍스트와 그림을 동시에 사용하는 검색 방법 또한 최근에 제안되어 왔다. 본 연구는 다매체자료의 공통기술표현포맷(CRFMD)이라는 이름으로 화상자료와 텍스트자료를 하나의 자료 구조로 통합하는 방법을 제안하고 있으며, 주어진 테스트자료에 대한 화상자료의 유사성 분석에서 텍스트와 그림의 형태소를 함께 사용하였을 때 현격히 개선되어 짐을 보여주고 있다. CRFMD는 의료문서 검색, WWW 검색, 박물관 소장품 검색과 같은 다양한 분야의 다매체자료 검색 및 처리에 응용될 수가 있을 것이다.
