A Dynamic Synchronization Method for Multimedia Delivery and Presentation based on QoS (QoS를 이용한 동적 멀티미디어 전송 및 프리젠테이션 동기화 기법)

  • Method for synchronizing multimedia data is needed to support continuous transmission of multimedia data through a network in a bounded time and it also required for supporting continuous presentation of multimedia data with the required norminal playout rate in distributed network environments. This paper describes a new synchronization method for supporting delay-sensitive multimedia Presentation without degration of Quality of services of multimedia application. It mainly aims to support both intermedia and intermedia synchronization by absorbing network variations which may cause skew or jitter. In order to remove asynchonization problems, we make use of logical time system, dynamic buffer control method, and adjusting synchronization intervals based on the quality of services of a multimedia. It might be more suitable for working on distribute[1 multimedia systems where the network delay variation is changed from time to time and no global clock is supported. And it also can effectively reduce the amount of buffer requirements needed for transfering multimedia data between source and destination system by adjusting synchronization intervals with acceptable packet delay limits and packet loss rates.

  • The work that detection and elimination to disease and pest have important in agricultural field because it is directly related to the production of the crops, early detection and treatment of the disease insects. Image classification technology based on traditional computer vision have not been applied in part such as disease and pest because that is falling a accuracy to extraction and classification of feature. In this paper, we proposed model that determine to disease and pest of shiitake based on deep-CNN which have high image recognition performance than exist study. For performance evaluation, we compare evaluation with Alexnet to a proposed deep learning evaluation model. We were compared a proposed model with test data and extend test data. The result, we were confirmed that the proposed model had high performance than Alexnet which approximately 48% and 72% such as test data, approximately 62% and 81% such as extend test data.

  • The Internet today is teemed with not only text data but also other media such as sound, still and moving images in a variety of formats. Unlike text, however, that can be retrieved easily with the help of numerous search engines, there has been few way to access data of other media unless the exact location or the URL is known. Multimedia data in the WWW are contained in or linked via anchors in the hyper-documents. They can most reliably be retrieved by analyzing the binary data content, which is far from being practical yet by the current state of the art. Instead we present another technique of searching based on textual descriptions which are found at or around the multimedia objects. The textual description used in this research includes file name (URL), anchor text and its context, alternative descriptions found in ALT HTML tage. These are actually the clues assumedly relevant to the contents. Although not without a possibility of missing or misinterpreting images and sounds, the description-based search is highly practical in terms of computation. The prototype search engine will soon be deployed to the public service through the prestige search engine, InfoDetective, in Korea.

A Performance Evaluation of Multimedia Data Downstream with PDA over Wireless LAN (무선 랜 환경에서 PDA의 멀티미디어 데이터 다운스트림 성능 평가)

  • When a PDA is used as a mobile terminal in an infrastructure network based on 802.11b standard wireless LAN, we measured and evaluated the performance of multimedia data transmission. In general, PDAs are mainly used tot receiving bulk data like multimedia data. However, while a PDA as a mobile host transfers multimedia data to a desktop PC as a fixed host in such a network, the time taken to receive data from the PC to the PDA is always longer than the time taken to send data from the PDA to the PC by at least 53%. Thus, we consider some critical factors that affect the time taken to receive Our experimental results show that with the PDA the time taken to access a file for writing is longer than the time taken to access a file for reading of to 4.11 times. In addition, a dramatic change of the site of the receiver window, from 686 bytes to 32,383 bytes, prolongs the time taken to receive. To transfer data without any inter-packet interval for the PDA and to increase the size of the TCP receive buffer will be effective in improving the delay to receive data.

  • Nowadays, Internet users are widespread internationally. Fallowing the users requirements, server has to transfer real-time multimedia data to many clients. Multicast can significantly reduce the system overhead and the network resource waste, so it supports efficient mechanism when server has to transfer same data to many clients. We can deliver multimedia data transfer in real-time using Patching Algorithm which has no delay for service request. And multicast algorithm can support different network bandwidth using Receiver driven Layered Multicast under heterogeneous environment network. The purpose of this paper is to suggest an algorithm that can create new multicast group adequately and transfer real-time multimedia data efficiently under heterogeneous environment.

A Human Action Recognition Scheme in Temporal Spatial Data for Intelligent Web Browser

  • This paper proposes a human action recognition scheme for Intelligent Web Browser. Based on the principle that a human action can be defined as a combination of multiple articulation movements, the inference of stochastic grammars is applied to recognize each action. Human actions in 3 dimensional (3D) world coordinate are measured, quantized and made into two sets of 4-chain-code for xy and zy projection planes, consequently they are appropriate for applying the stochastic grammar inference method. We confirm this method by experiments, that various physical actions can be classified correctly against a set of real world 3D temporal data. The result revealed a comparatively successful achievement of $93.8\%$ recognition rate through the experiments of 8 movements of human head and $84.9\%$ recognition rate of 60 movements of human upper body. We expect that this scheme can be used for human-machine interaction commands in a web browser.

  • In this paper, we propose an energy efficient and multimedia traffic friendly MAC protocol (EEMF-MAC) that controls sender's wakeup period based on the data packet's transmission urgency and the receiver's wakeup periods based on the received data packet traffic loads. The protocol is useful for applications such as object tracking, real time data gathering, in which priority-based packet transmission is required. The basic idea of EEMF-MAC is that it uses the priority concept with transmission urgency of sender's data packet to reduce the transmission delay of the urgent data and it also uses duty cycling technique in order to achieve energy efficiency. EEMF-MAC showed a better performance in energy efficiency and packet transmission delay compared to existing protocols, RI-MAC and EE-RI-MAC.

  • There have been ongoing researches to identify and analyze the patterns of electric power IoT data inside sensor nodes to supplement the stable supply of power and the efficiency of energy consumption. This study set out to propose an analysis process for electric power IoT data with the K-means algorithm, which is an unsupervised learning technique rather than a supervised one. There are a couple of problems with the old K-means algorithm, and one of them is the selection of cluster number K in a heuristic or random method. That approach is proper for the age of standardized data. The investigator proposed an analysis process of selecting an automated cluster number K through principal component analysis and the space division of normal distribution and incorporated it into electric power IoT data. The performance evaluation results show that it recorded a higher level of performance than the old algorithm in the cluster classification and analysis of pitches and rolls included in the communication bodies of utility poles.

A Study on Packet Transmissions using overhearing and Time-Interval in WMSNs (WMSN에서 엿듣기와 시간 지연을 이용한 패킷 전송에 관한 연구)

  • With the advance of wireless sensor networks, WMSN(Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks) researches to transfers multimedia data have been studied actively. First of all, three basic protocols, End-to-end, Hop-by-hop, and Unreliable transmission method, are compared to transfer multimedia data using simulations. This paper presents an efficient protocol to transfer multimedia data by overhearing messages of nodes and by transmitting next packets during the unused time interval. The proposed method is verified its performance by simulations and experiments. The results shows that the transmission rate of the proposed method 22% higher than that of End-to-end protocol with half of transmission time. Also the performance of the proposed method is compared with that of PIGAB(Packet Interval Gap based on Adaptive Backoff).
