손실이 있는 원통형 다층 유전체의 차폐특성 해석 (Analysis of Shielding Characteristics on the Cylindrical Lossy Multilayered Dielectric)

  • In this paper, the shielding characteristics of a cylindrical multilayered dielectric are analyzed. In order to evaluate shielding effects, we consider the case that plane waves are incident upon an infinitely long cylindrical multilayered dielectric which surrounds a conductor core. For perfect and lossy dielectric distributions, total induced currents at the conductor surface are computed. It was found from those results that electromagnetic characteristics of the multilayered dielectric are largely dependent on dielectric distribution.

Soil-structure interaction analysis of beams resting on multilayered geosynthetic-reinforced soil

  • In this paper, soil-structure interaction analysis has been presented for beams resting on multilayered geosynthetic-reinforced granular fill-soft soil system. The soft soil and geosynthetic reinforcements are idealized as nonlinear springs and elastic membranes, respectively. The governing differential equations are solved by finite difference technique and the results are presented in non-dimensional form. It is observed from the study that use of geosynthetic reinforcement is not very effective for maximum settlement reduction in case of very rigid beam. Similarly the reinforcements are not effective for shear force reduction if the granular fill has very high shear modulus value. However, multilayered reinforced system is very effective for bending moment and differential settlement reduction.

  • Polycrystalline $BaTiO_3/SrTiO_3$ powder was prepared by sol-gel process and the multilayered thick films were prepared on the $Al_2O_3$ substrates by screen printing method. The films were sintered at $1400^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours in the air. The structural and dielectric properties were investigated, The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns indicate that the BST phase and porocity were formed in the interface of $BaTiO_3/SrTiO_3$ multilayered thick films. The dielectric constant and the dielectric loss of the BT/ST/BT/ST multilayered thick films were about 247 and 0.84% at 1MHz.

  • 층상구조재료가 갖는 약점으로는 구성재료층 간의 열.기계적 특성 차이로 인하여 내부응력이 발생되고 비틀림 변형이 유발되어 형상 제어가 매우 어려울 뿐만 아니라, 반복적인 열 하중으로 인해 열이력을 받을 경우 접합부에서의 파손이 생길 수 있다는 것이다. 최근 층상구조에서 조직 혹은 조성이 점차적으로 변하는 계면을 삽입한 경사조성재료는 열.기계적 변형특성 차이에 의한 재료의 손상을 최소화시킬 수 있으나, 용도에 적합한 구조설계를 위해서 열.기계적 해석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 전자패키징용 $Al-SiC_p$ 경사조성 복합재료의 기하학적 구조와 온도변화에 따른 곡면화 변형 및 내부응력분포를 해석하고자 하였다. 한편 층상구조 $Al-SiC_p$ 경사조성 복합재료의 열변형량을 측정하고 내부응력분포를 실험적으로 구하여, 이론적으로 계산한 결과와 비교하였다. 본 연구의 해석결과는 경사조성 층상구조재료의 최적구조 설계에 유용하게 적용할 수 있다.

Power Semiconductor SMD Package Embedded in Multilayered Ceramic for Low Switching Loss

  • We propose a multilayered-substrate-based power semiconductor discrete device package for a low switching loss and high heat dissipation. To verify the proposed package, cost-effective, low-temperature co-fired ceramic, multilayered substrates are used. A bare die is attached to an embedded cavity of the multilayered substrate. Because the height of the pad on the top plane of the die and the signal line on the substrate are the same, the length of the bond wires can be shortened. A large number of thermal vias with a high thermal conductivity are embedded in the multilayered substrate to increase the heat dissipation rate of the package. The packaged silicon carbide Schottky barrier diode satisfies the reliability testing of a high-temperature storage life and temperature humidity bias. At $175^{\circ}C$, the forward current is 7 A at a forward voltage of 1.13 V, and the reverse leakage current is below 100 lA up to a reverse voltage of 980 V. The measured maximum reverse current ($I_{RM}$), reverse recovery time ($T_{rr}$), and reverse recovery charge ($Q_{rr}$) are 2.4 A, 16.6 ns, and 19.92 nC, respectively, at a reverse voltage of 300 V and di/dt equal to $300A/{\mu}s$.

Design of Multilayered Suspension Mechanism for Differential Type Mobile Robot

  • This paper presents a design for the novel suspension mechanism of a two-wheeled mobile robot having two casters which is used for indoor environment. Although the indoor environment is less rough than the outdoor one, the fixed caster mechanism has some problems such as causing the robot to be immovable because robot's driving wheels do not have contact with the ground. Therefore, we tried installing a spring-damper suspension mechanism to keep driving capability and to remove pitching phenomenon. However, this suspension mechanism also has the problem, which the robot body inclined by disturbances does not return to the initial position. To deal with above problems and to accomplish desired performances, we designed the Multilayered Suspension Mechanism, which has springs and dampers working partially according to the inclined angle and angular velocity of robot body concerned with pitching. To analyze design, the equations of motion describing their dynamics were developed. Using the equations, simulation results show the improved performance. We confirm the usefulness of the Multilayered Suspension Mechanism by construction and test of a actual prototype.

초음파 현미경을 이용한 다층구조물의 해석 (The Analysis of Multilayered Media Using Ultrasonic Microscopy)

  • 본 연구에서는 수 파장 이상의 깊이에 존재하는 결함을 탐상하기 위하여 50MHz의 중심주파수에서 동작하는 small aperture형 초음파현미경을 구성하였고 다층구조 샘플에 대한 영상을 연구분석하였다. 다층구조물에서의 출력특성을 음향감쇠, 수차, 렌즈형태, 샘플의 특성에 영향을 받으며 이것은 다층구조 I.C.와 bonding층 탐상에 이용할 수 있다. 실험결과, small aperture형 초음파현미경은 large aperture형 시스템에 비하여 두꺼운 샘플의 탐상에 유리하며 타 도구에서 관찰이 어려운 다층구조의 층별 탐상과 내부구조의 변형상태등을 2차원 영상으로 탐상할 수 있는 유용한 도구임을 확인하였다.

  • Multilayered cartilage graft has been clinically used at tip plasty, total ear reconstruction, and cleft lip nasal deformities. Perichondrial flap or a free perichondrium has been also commonly used for induction of neocartilage. However, the influence of perichondrium on multilayered cartilage graft to strength and growth rate is still unknown. The purpose of this study was to compare the strength and growth rate of different multilayered cartilage graft and to present the most ideal model of multilayered cartilage graft. Twenty New-zealand white rabbit were used. Triple layers of cartilage grafts with various perichondrium were inserted into six separate pockets in paravertebral region of rabbits. The grafts were grossly and microscopically observed on 8 and 16 weeks after grafting. On gross observation, the grafts showed marked enlargement of three layers of cartilage grafts with perichondrium compare with three layers of cartilage grafts without perichondrium In histologic examination, the number of PCNA-labelled cells were significantly high on three layers of cartilage grafts with perichondrium. In conclusion, this study suggested that triple-layer graft of cartilage grafts with perichondrium on the outside of triple-layer graft has strength and an effect on chondrogenetic induction by the perichondrium.

Removal Efficiency of the Pollutants from Piggery Wastes with Activated Carbon Treated with Metal and Their Pilot Scale Design

  • The treatment of piggery wastes was carried out at pilot scale using a multilayered metal-activated carbon system followed by carbon bed filtration. The physicochemical properties were obtained from treated samples with aqueous solutions containing metallic ions such as $Ag^+$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Na^+$, $K^+$ and $Mn^{2+}$, which main obsevations are subjected to inspect surface properties, color removal properties by Uv/Vis and EDX. Multilayered metal-activated carbons were contacted with waste water to investigation of the simultaneous catalytic effect for the COD, BOD, T-N and T-P removal. The removal results for the piggery waste using multilayered metal-activated carbon bed was achieved the satisfactory removal performance under permitted values of Ministry of Environment of Korea. The high efficiency of the multilayered metal-activated carbon bed was determined by the performance of this material for trapping, catalytic effect and adsorption of organic solid particles.

  • LbL multilayering technology introduced by Decher is a nano technique that a substrate surface is layered by the successive deposition of polyelectrolytes with positive and negative charge. We investigated the electrochemical properties of LbL multilayered pulp fibers with poly-DADMAC and PSS. Three types of pulp-Hw-BKP, BCTMP and KOCC- were treated with polyelectrolytes. Zeta potentials of multilayered fibers ranged from +30 mV to +40 mV, depending on the intial zeta potential of pulp fibers and fines content. All kinds of pulp which were examined in this study, however, showed a similar zeta potential of -35 mV after layering with PSS. To obtain pulp fiber with a uniform and stable zeta potential, BCTMP and KOCC pulp fibers should be multilayered above 5 times. The addition level of polyelectrolytes had little influence on the zeta potential of pulp fibers.
