Influences and Compensation of Phase Noise and IQ Imbalance in Multiband DFT-S OFDM System for the Spectrum Aggregation (스펙트럼 집성을 위한 멀티 밴드 DFT-S OFDM 시스템에서 직교 불균형과 위상 잡음의 영향 분석 및 보상)

  • 100 MHz bandwidth and 1 Gbit/s data speed are needed in LTE-advanced for the next generation mobile communication system. Therefore, spectrum aggregation method has been studied recently to extend usable frequency bands. Also bandwidth utilization is increased since vacant frequencies are used to communicate. However, transceiver structure requires the digital RF and SDR. Therefore, frequency synthesizer and PA must operate over wide-bandwidth and RF impairments also increases in transceiver. Uplink of LTE advanced uses DFT-S OFDM using plural power amplifier. The effect of ICI increases in frequency domain of receiver due to phase noise and IQ imbalance. In this paper, we analyze influences of ICI in frequency domain of receiver considering phase noise and IQ imbalance in multiband system. Also, we separate phase noise and IQ imbalance effect from channel response in frequency domain of uplink system. And we propose a method to estimate the channel exactly and to compensate IQ imbalance and phase noise. Simulation result shows that the proposed method achieves the 2 dB performance gain of BER=$10^{-4}$.

  • 본 논문에서는 양질의 규칙합성을 얻기 위하여, 유성음에 대한 여기신호로 임펄스 스펙트럼과 노이즈 스펙트럼을 다중대역으로 혼합하여 생성한 여기신호를 규칙합성에 적용하는 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법에서는, 분석합성에서 각 프레임별로 요구되었던 혼합여기신호에 대한 정보량 문제를 해결하기 위해 유성음의 정상부분의 한 프레임에 대해 혼합여기신호를 구하여 규칙합성에 적용하였고, 정보량을 더욱 줄이는 방안으로, 켑스트럼 유클리디안 거리를 이용하여 유성음을 분류하여, 각 그룹에 대한 대표 여기신호를 규칙합성의 여기신호로 사용하였다. 제안된 방법으로 음성을 합성한 결과 양질의 합성음을 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Fine Frequency Synchronization Method for MB-OFDM UWB Systems

  • In this paper, a fine residual frequency offset estimation scheme is proposed for multiband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing ultra-wideband (MB-OFDM UWB) systems. The basic idea of our approach is based on the fact that two adjacent OFDM symbols carry the identical information in the MB-OFDM UWB system, thus removing the need of pilot symbols. The mean square error of the synchronization scheme is evaluated and simulation results are used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed estimator. When compared to the pilot-aided conventional estimator, the proposed estimator has a lower estimation error.

  • A frequency selective surface (FSS), whose unit cell consists of a ternary tree loop loaded with a modified tripole, is proposed to block multiple frequency bands. Target frequency bands correspond to Korean personal communication services, cellular mobile communication, and 2.4 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical bands. Through the adjustment of inter-element and inter-unit cell gaps, and adjustment of the length of elements, we present an FSS design method that makes the precise tuning of multiple resonance frequencies possible. Additionally, to verify the validity of our approach, simulation results obtained from a commercial software tool and experimental data are also presented.

  • This paper has been studied speech enhancement method in noisy environment. By mean of that we prefer human auditory mechanism which is perfect system and applied wavelet transform. Multi-resolution of wavelet transform make possible multiband spectrum analysis like human ears. This method was verified very effective way in noisy speech enhancement.

Band Structure Analysis of Strained Quantum Wire Arrays

  • A numerical approach for the analysis of quantum wire structures has been presented using a finite-element method which includes the strain analysis and the band analysis of the Luttinger-Kohn Hamiltonian with the deformation potential. A systematic implementation of the multiband Hamiltonian in the finite-element scheme is outlined and the corresponding variational functional is derived for arbitrarily shaped strained quantum wire arrays. This method is then applied to calculate the band structures of strained quantum wire arrays.

  • We develop the signal processing method for adaptive implementing direction of signal and the frequency sensitivity of human visual system(HVS). Existing multibnad energy scaling method makes ringing artifact because it does not consider signal direction. To solve this problem, we use block gradient for signal direction in addition to existing method. And we use the fact that frequency component of signal is more sensitive than value of signal over human eyes. we enhance the signal according to contrast sensitivity function(CSF) which is the model of frequency sensitivity of human eye. Compared that the existing analysis models only improve the efficiencies in the existing systems, the developed method can process the image signals to be more desirable and suitable to HVS.

  • In a bandpass sampling (BPS), the frequency of the sampler is lower than that of the signal being sampled. In this method, the baseband spectrum directly appears by the sampling operation, so that it is not necessary to use any frequency down-converter, which makes the receiver's hardware simpler. The second-order BPS uses two identical BPS samplers, of which sampling times are offset by each other. By exploiting the relationship between two sampled signals, it can be possible to cancel the aliased signal component or the interference due to the bandpass sampling. In order to cancel the interference, an interpolant filter is used to manipulate the phase characteristics of the BPS sampled signal. In this paper, it is introduced a multiband interpolant filter which can simultaneously cancel multiple interference signals that have been aliased from multiple frequency bands. In case of no need of interference cancellation, another method is suggested to enhance the signal quality by 3dB. A computer simulation has been performed, and the feasibility of the suggested methods has been verified.
