Optical Filter Design for Fluorescence Technique Based Phycocyanin Measurement Sensor Used In Water Treatment Plants

  • Recently the water management department advised the water treatment industry to focus on deploy the chemical free and the environmentally responsible process to adopt on water treatment plants in every country. In this objective, water treatment process started using ultrasonic based phycocyanin extraction with fluorescence measurement techniques to detect the change in the yield of phycocyanin. This paper propose the design of optical filter model for fluorescence technique based immersive optical phycocyanin measurement sensor design. The proposed design uses the multi-wavelength sensor module for irradiating part, and this plays a role of removing a wavelength band other than 590 ~ 620 nm. The preliminary study on immersed phycocyanin sensor, the fluorescence value of picocyanin according to the ultrasonic intensity, treatment time and number of cells was measured using JM phycocyanin module to emulate the proposed design, and were compared performance of the proposed sensor emulation. In this design, the phycocyanin fluorescence value increased about 2.1 ~ 4.7 times as the ultrasonic treatment time increased as compared with JM phycocyanin module, and the phycocyanin fluorescence value within the analysis range was obtained by ultrasonic treatment within one minute.

Design of Multi-Sensor-Based Open Architecture Integrated Navigation System for Localization of UGV

  • The UGV is one of the special field robot developed for mine detection, surveillance and transportation. To achieve successfully the missions of the UGV, the accurate and reliable navigation data should be provided. This paper presents design and implementation of multi-sensor-based open architecture integrated navigation for localization of UGV. The presented architecture hierarchically classifies the integrated system into four layers and data communications between layers are based on the distributed object oriented middleware. The navigation manager determines the navigation mode with the QoS information of each navigation sensor and the integrated filter performs the navigation mode-based data fusion in the filtering process. Also, all navigation variables including the filter parameters and QoS of navigation data can be modified in GUI and consequently, the user can operate the integrated navigation system more usefully. The conventional GPS/INS integrated system does not guarantee the long-term reliability of localization when GPS solution is not available by signal blockage and intentional jamming in outdoor environment. The presented integration algorithm, however, based on the adaptive federated filter structure with FDI algorithm can integrate effectively the output of multi-sensor such as 3D LADAR, vision, odometer, magnetic compass and zero velocity to enhance the accuracy of localization result in the case that GPS is unavailable. The field test was carried out with the UGV and the test results show that the presented integrated navigation system can provide more robust and accurate localization performance than the conventional GPS/INS integrated system in outdoor environments.

  • Recently the necessity of road data is still being increased in industrial society, so there are many repairing and new constructions of roads at many areas. According to the development of government, city and region, the update and acquisition of road data for GIS (Geographical Information System) is very necessary. In this study, the fusion method with range data(3D Ground Coordinate System Data) and Intensity data in stand alone LiDAR data is used for road extraction and then digital image processing method is applicable. Up to date Intensity data of LiDAR is being studied. This study shows the possibility method for road extraction using Intensity data. Intensity and Range data are acquired at the same time. Therefore LiDAR does not have problems of multi-sensor data fusion method. Also the advantage of intensity data is already geocoded, same scale of real world and can make ortho-photo. Lastly, analysis of quantitative and quality is showed with extracted road image which compare with I: 1,000 digital map.

DIND Data Fusion with Covariance Intersection in Intelligent Space with Networked Sensors

  • Latest advances in network sensor technology and state of the art of mobile robot, and artificial intelligence research can be employed to develop autonomous and distributed monitoring systems. In this study, as the preliminary step for developing a multi-purpose "Intelligent Space" platform to implement advanced technologies easily to realize smart services to human. We will give an explanation for the ISpace system architecture designed and implemented in this study and a short review of existing techniques, since there exist several recent thorough books and review paper on this paper. Instead we will focus on the main results with relevance to the DIND data fusion with CI of Intelligent Space. We will conclude by discussing some possible future extensions of ISpace. It is first dealt with the general principle of the navigation and guidance architecture, then the detailed functions tracking multiple objects, human detection and motion assessment, with the results from the simulations run.

MEDU-Net+: a novel improved U-Net based on multi-scale encoder-decoder for medical image segmentation

  • The unique U-shaped structure of U-Net network makes it achieve good performance in image segmentation. This network is a lightweight network with a small number of parameters for small image segmentation datasets. However, when the medical image to be segmented contains a lot of detailed information, the segmentation results cannot fully meet the actual requirements. In order to achieve higher accuracy of medical image segmentation, a novel improved U-Net network architecture called multi-scale encoder-decoder U-Net+ (MEDU-Net+) is proposed in this paper. We design the GoogLeNet for achieving more information at the encoder of the proposed MEDU-Net+, and present the multi-scale feature extraction for fusing semantic information of different scales in the encoder and decoder. Meanwhile, we also introduce the layer-by-layer skip connection to connect the information of each layer, so that there is no need to encode the last layer and return the information. The proposed MEDU-Net+ divides the unknown depth network into each part of deconvolution layer to replace the direct connection of the encoder and decoder in U-Net. In addition, a new combined loss function is proposed to extract more edge information by combining the advantages of the generalized dice and the focal loss functions. Finally, we validate our proposed MEDU-Net+ MEDU-Net+ and other classic medical image segmentation networks on three medical image datasets. The experimental results show that our proposed MEDU-Net+ has prominent superior performance compared with other medical image segmentation networks.

무향 변환 기반 필터링을 이용한 전술표적 추적 성능 연구 (Study on Tactical Target Tracking Performance Using Unscented Transform-based Filtering)

  • Tracking the tactical object is a fundamental affair in network-equipped modern warfare. Geodetic coordinate system based on longitude, latitude, and height is suitable to represent the location of tactical objects considering multi platform data fusion. The motion of tactical object described as a dynamic model requires an appropriate filtering to overcome the system and measurement noise in acquiring information from multiple sensors. This paper introduces the filter suitable for multi-sensor data fusion and tactical object tracking, particularly the unscented transform(UT) and its detail. The UT in Unscented Kalman Filter(UKF) uses a few samples to estimate nonlinear-propagated statistic parameters, and UT has better performance and complexity than the conventional linearization method. We show the effects of UT-based filtering via simulation considering practical tactical object tracking scenario.

그레디언트 및 분산을 이용한 웨이블릿 기반의 광학 및 레이더 영상 융합 (Wavelet-based Fusion of Optical and Radar Image using Gradient and Variance)

  • 본 연구에서는 주파수 및 공간 도메인 상에서 선호 분석에 장점이 있는 웨이블릿 기반의 영상 융합 알고리듬을 제안하였다. 개발된 알고리듬은 레이더 영상 신호와 광학 영상 신호의 상대적인 크기를 비교하여 상대적으로 신호 크기가 큰 경우에는 레이더 영상 신호를 융합 영상에 할당하고 크기가 작은 경우에는 레이더 영상 신호와 광학 영상 선호의 가중치 합으로 융합 영상 신호를 결정한다. 사용되는 융합 규칙은 두 영상 신호의 상대적인 신호 비(ratio) 영상 그레디언트, 로컬 영역의 분산 특성을 동시에 고려한다. Ikonos 위성 영상과 TerraSAR-X 위성 영상을 이용한 실험에서 상대적으로 신호 크기가 큰 레이더 신호 만을 융합 영상에 할당하는 기존 방법에 비해 entropy, image clarity, spatial frequency, speckle index 측면에서 우수한 융합 결과를 얻었다.

GOCI와 Landsat OLI 영상 융합을 통한 적조 탐지 (Red Tide Detection through Image Fusion of GOCI and Landsat OLI)

  • 광역범위에 대한 적조의 효율적인 모니터링을 위하여 원격탐사의 필요성이 점차 증가하고 있다. 하지만 기존 연구에서는 다양한 센서 중 해색 센서만을 위한 적조 탐지 알고리즘 개발에만 집중되어 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 위성 기반 적조 모니터링의 한계로 지적되고 있는 탁도가 높은 연안역의 적조 탐지와 원격탐사 자료의 부정확성을 개선하고자 다중센서의 활용을 제시하고자 한다. 국립수산과학원 적조속보 정보를 바탕으로 적조 발생해역을 선정하였고, 해색 센서인 GOCI 영상과 육상 센서인 Landsat OLI 영상을 이용하여 공간적인 융합과 분광기반 융합을 시도하였다. 두 영상의 공간 융합을 통하여, GOCI 영상에서 관측 불가능하였던 연안지역의 적조와 Landsat OLI 영상의 품질이 낮았던 외해역의 적조 모두 개선된 탐지결과 획득 가능하였다. Feature-level과 rawdata-level로 나누어 진행된 분광 융합 결과, 두 방법에서 도출된 적조 분포 양상은 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 하지만 feature-level 방법에서는 영상의 공간해상도가 낮을수록 적조 면적이 과대추정되는 경향이 나타났다. Linear spectral unmixing 방법으로 픽셀을 세분화한 결과, 적조 비율이 낮은 픽셀의 수가 많을수록 적조 면적의 차이는 심화되는 것으로 나타났다. Rawdata-level의 경우Gram-Schmidt가 PC spectral sharpening 기법보다 다소 넓은 면적이 추정되었지만, 큰 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 해색 센서와 육상 센서의 공간 융합을 통해 외해뿐만 아니라 탁도가 높은 연안의 적조 역시 탐지가 가능함을 보여주었고, 다양한 분광 융합 방법을 제시함으로써 더욱 정확한 적조 면적 추정 방법을 제시하였다. 이 결과는 한반도 주변의 적조를 더욱 정확하게 탐지하고, 적조를 효과적으로 제어하기 위한 대응대책 수립을 결정하는데 필요한 정확한 적조 면적 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

다시점 카메라와 깊이 카메라를 이용한 고화질 깊이 맵 제작 기술 (High-resolution Depth Generation using Multi-view Camera and Time-of-Flight Depth Camera)

  • 깊이 카메라는 Time-of-Flight (TOF) 기술을 이용하여 장면 내 물체들의 거리 정보를 실시간으로 측정하며, 측정된 값은 깊이 영상으로 출력되어 양안식 혹은 다시점 카메라와 함께 장면의 고화질 깊이 맵을 제작하는 데 사용된다. 그러나 깊이 카메라 자체가 가지는 기술적 한계로 인하여 영상에 잡음과 왜곡이 포함되어 있기 때문에 이를 효과적으로 제거할 수 있는 기술이 요구되며, 처리 된 깊이 카메라 영상은 다양한 방법으로 색상 영상과 융합되어 장면의 깊이 정보를 생성할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같이 다시 점 카메라와 깊이 카메라를 함께 사용하여 고화질의 깊이 정보를 획득할 수 있는 혼합형 카메라 방식의 원리와 깊이 영상 처리 및 깊이 생성을 위한 기술 동향을 설명한다.

A New Soft-Fusion Approach for Multiple-Receiver Wireless Communication Systems

  • In this paper, a new soft-fusion approach for multiple-receiver wireless communication systems is proposed. In the proposed approach, each individual receiver provides the central receiver with a confidence level rather than a binary decision. The confidence levels associated with the local receiver are modeled by means of soft-membership functions. The proposed approach can be applied to wireless digital communication systems, such as amplitude shift keying, frequency shift keying, phase shift keying, multi-carrier code division multiple access, and multiple inputs multiple outputs sensor networks. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated and compared to the performance of the optimal diversity, majority voting, optimal partial decision, and selection diversity in case of binary noncoherent frequency shift keying on a Rayleigh faded additive white Gaussian noise channel. It is shown that the proposed approach achieves considerable performance improvement over optimal partial decision, majority voting, and selection diversity. It is also shown that the proposed approach achieves a performance comparable to the optimal diversity scheme.
