  • The most important requirement for the automotive radars is the simultaneous target range and velocity measurement under environment of multi-target, clutters, multi-path, and so on. If the many vehicles with 77GHz FMCW(Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) radar system are in the near area we should consider the interference signals occurred by other radar systems because these signals reduce exact detection of range and velocity. In this paper, we propose the interference cancellation method, which each vehicle radar transmits chirp trains with the different frequency sweep shapes. The proposed method is applied into the various applications such as an intelligent vehicle, Robot, and UGV(Unmanned Ground Vehicle).

  • Recently, the demand for ultra-precision processing has increased owing to the increase in the demand for high-performance ultra-precision optical parts in the fields of information technology (IT), bio, healthcare, aerospace, and future automobiles. In this study, a performance improvement of a multi-stage pump was achieved by improving the pump casing structure rather than using the existing performance improvement method. To verify the performance improvement, the CFD analysis reliability of the existing pump, Pump A, was verified using the FLUENT app in the analysis software ANSYS, and the pump casing was improved through the verified CFD analysis of Pump B. Therefore, we want to analyze the performance improvement.

  • Recently, the safety of chemical substances has gained attention due to incidents occurring in petrochemical industrial complexes, such as gas leaks and fires. In particular, industrial complexes in Ulsan and Yeosu (South Korea) are valuable as they significantly contribute to the petrochemical industry, but accidents may occur due to chemical leakage. Therefore, in this study, sensor nodes are configured at an interval of 20 [m] based on outdoor facilities standards to respond to chemical accidents, and exposure consideration of 8 h (TWA) and 15 min (STEL) are proposed in TLVs. The proposed system pre-processes data collected in multi-hop communication at a cycle of 0.6-0.75 [s] using Python and stores it in the MySQL database through SQL and a real-time remote monitoring system that updates the stored data once every 5 s is implemented by linking MySQL and Grafana.

  • Ultrasonic sensors are widely used in mobile robot applications to recognize external environments by virtue that they are cheap, easy to use, and robust under varying lighting conditions. In most cases, a single ultrasonic sensor is used to measure the distance to an object based on time-of-flight (TOF) information, whereas multiple sensors are used to recognize the shape of an object, such as a comer, plane, or edge. However, the conventional sequential driving technique involves a long measurement time. This problem can be resolved by pulse coding of ultrasonic signals, which allows multi-sensors to be emitted simultaneously and adjacent objects to be distinguished. Accordingly, this paper presents a new simultaneous coded driving system for an ultrasonic sensor array for object recognition in autonomous mobile robots. The proposed system is designed and implemented. A micro-controller unit is implemented using a DSP, Polaroid 6500 ranging modules are modified for firing the coded signals, and a 5-channel coded signal generating board is made using a FPGA. To verify the proposed method, experiments were conducted in an environment with overlapping signals, and the flight distances fur each sensor were obtained from the received overlapping signals using correlations and conversion to a bipolar PCM-NRZ signal.

  • In robot operation, a motor with multi-degree of freedom motion control and an encoder for motor control are needed. To perform precise motion, location, and velocity control, the operation of motor and encoder with superior performance is important. In this paper, we studied performance evaluation system that can evaluate the performance of motor and encoder. The performance of motor and encoder can be evaluated in terms of disconnection check, signal variation count, and U, V, W signal check. Disconnection check verifies signal connection between a motor and an encoder, signal variation check verifies A, B signal by counting the number of signal A, B when a motor revolves, and U, V, W signal check verifies operating direction of a motor. The result is shown at graphic LCD integrated in system, and can be checked in PC with PC communication.

  • The da Vinci telemanipulator system (Intuitive Surgical, Sunnyvale, CA USA) is the most advanced robotic surgical system and has been increasingly used for cardiac surgical procedures. We report out first clinical experience of use of the da Vinci telemanipulator system for endoscopic harvesting of the bilateral thoracic artery andmulti-vessel small thoracotomy off pump CABG for 3-vessel disease. The da Vinci telemanipulator system has been previously utilized primarily for mitral valve surgery.

Then, we discuss the global color model based on the local color information. The process of learning within global model and the experimental results are also presented.

  • As mobile robot applications increase in real life, the need of low cost autonomous driving are gradually increasing. We propose a novel vision-based real-time lane detection and tracking system that supports autonomous driving of mobile robots in constrained tracks which are designed considering indoor driving conditions of mobile robots. Considering the processing of lanes with various shapes and the pre-adjustment of operation parameters, the system structure with multi-operation modes are designed. In parameter tuning mode, thresholds of the color filter is dynamically adjusted based on the geometric property of the lane thickness. And in the unstable input mode of curved tracks and the stable input mode of straight tracks, lane feature pixels are adaptively extracted based on the geometric and temporal characteristics of the lanes and the lane model is fitted using the least-squared method. The track centerline is calculated using lane models and the motion model is simplified and tracked by a linear Kalman filter. In the driving experiments, it was confirmed that even in low-performance robot configurations, real-time processing produces the accurate autonomous driving in the constrained track.

  • Wireless sensor network with wireless sensor nodes which equipped with temperature, humidity, illumination, or soil sensor etc, get a natural environment information and analyze and utilized variety way.these network consist of a short distance wireless communication and multi-hop techniques with multiple nodes equipped low-power wireless transceivers. so the characteristic of the data collected through the wireless sensor network is obtained from compact nodes within a limited range. However, to get a data from the wireless sensor nodes scattered in a wide range, this network needs a wireless transceiver that consumes many power or a lot of intermediate nodes. then, merit of low cost and low electrical energy decrease. To solve this problem, this paper offers environment monitoring system using autonomous mobile robot that collect data from groups of each sensor networks scattered widely.
