Multi Rate Wideband Speech Coder with the AMR Speech Coder and MLT-VQ (AMR부호화기와 MLT-VQ방법을 이용한 다전송률 광대역 음성부호화기)

  • 본 논문에서는 AMR(Adaptive Multi-Rate)과 MLT (Modulated Lapped Transform) 벡터 양자화 방법을 이용하여 광대역 음성부호화기를 설계하였다. 제안한 음성부호화 알고리즘은 split-band 구조를 가지고 있으며 16kHz로 샘플링 된 신호를 입력받아 QMF 필터에 의해 두 개의 대역으로 나누어, 각각 8kHz 샘플링 신호로 변환시킨 후 저대역(0Hz-3400Hz)의 신호와 고대역(3400Hz -7000Hz)의 신호로 나누어 각각 부호화한다. 나누어진 두 개의 협대역 음성신호는 AMR(Adaptive Multi-Rate)부호화기와 MLT (Modulated Lapped Transform)벡터 양자화 방법을 사용하여 각각 부호화되어 전송된다. 수신단에서는 각 대역을 AMR과 IMLT(Inverse MLT) 벡터 양자화 방법으로 역부호화하여 음성신호를 합성한다. 제안한 음성부호화기는 20.2kbps에서 12.15kbps까지의 다전송률로 동작된다. 설계된 광대역 음성부호화기는 MOS시험 결과로부터 G.722의 56 kbps 음성이 설계된 코더의 20.2 kbps와 비슷한 음질을 갖음을 확인할 수 있었다.

TWO-LAYER MULTI-PARAMETERIZED SCHWARZ ALTERNATING METHOD FOR 3D-PROBLEM

  • The convergence rate of a numerical procedure based on Schwarz Alternating Method (SAM) for solving elliptic boundary value problems depends on the selection of the interface conditions applied on the interior boundaries of the overlapping subdomains. It has been observed that the Robin condition (mixed interface condition), controlled by a parameter, can optimize SAM's convergence rate. In [8], one formulated the twolayer multi-parameterized SAM and determined the optimal values of the multi-parameters to produce the best convergence rate for one-dimensional elliptic boundary value problems. Two-dimensional implementation was presented in [10]. In this paper, we present an implementation for threedimensional problem.

  • This paper evaluates the computational efficiency of sample-rate converters with rational factors in multi-stage structure in terms of memory requirement and multiplications per second. We describe resolution preserving and mutual prime conditions, and then present a method for designing the converter from which optimal rational-valued conversion factors for each stage can be yielded directly. As an example, we show an implementation of the 44.1-to-48KHz sample-rate converter in 2-stage structure.

Development of multi-line laser vision sensor and welding application (멀티 라인 레이저 비전 센서를 이용한 고속 3차원 계측 및 모델링에 관한 연구)

  • A vision sensor measure range data using laser light source. This sensor generally use patterned laser which shaped single line. But this vision sensor cannot satisfy new trend which feeds foster and more precise processing. The sensor's sampling rate increases as reduced image processing time. However, the sampling rate can not over 30fps, because a camera has mechanical sampling limit. If we use multi line laser pattern, we will measure multi range data in one image. In the case of using same sampling rate camera, number of 2D range data profile in one second is directly proportional to laser line's number. For example, the vision sensor using 5 laser lines can sample 150 profiles per second in best condition.

  • In this paper, we describe a couple of methods for Frame Rate Up Conversion (FRUC) in Multi-View system. First, we introduce View Synthesis scheme that generates virtual views and FRUC that interpolates new frames between consecutive frames. Then, we introduce two applications of FRUC. One is a traditional application. The other is an application that uses feature of Multi-View system. Then we compare each result of two applications.

  • In this study, we have examined the multi-level QPRS system in point of error rate, which requires narrow bandwidth and has Little ISI. The generalized error rate equations of multi-level QPRS signal have been derived in the presence of Gaussian noise and co-channel CW interference. And the error rate performance of 9, 49, 225 QPRS system is investigated as parameters of carrier power-to-noise power, carrier power-to -interference power. Also, we have investigated the effect of carrier offset.

  • A terminal-based dynamic clustering algorithm is proposed in a multi-cell scenario, where the user could select the cooperative BSs from the predetermined static base stations (BSs) set based on dynamic channel condition. First, the user transmission rate is derived based on linear precoding and per-cell feedback scheme. Then, the dynamic clustering algorithm can be implemented based on two criteria: (a) the transmission rate should meet the user requirement for quality of service (QoS); (b) the rate increment exceeds the predetermined constant threshold. By adopting random vector quantization (RVQ), the optimized number of cooperative BSs and the corresponding channel conditions are presented respectively. Numerical results are given and show that the performance of the proposed method can improve the system resources utilization effectively.
