A Study on Correlation Processing Method of Multi-Polarization Observation Data by Daejeon Correlator (대전상관기의 다중편파 관측데이터 상관처리 방법에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we describe the correlation processing method of multi-polarization observation data of the Daejeon Correlator. VLBI observations include single or multiple polarized observations depending on the type of object. Polarization observations are performed to observe the characteristics of the object. During the observations of the celestial object, polarization measurements are also performed to determine the delay values and causes of changes in the object. Correlation processing of polarization observation data of the Daejeon correlator is proposed by OCTAVIA of a synchronous reproduction processing apparatus that outputs data input to each antenna unit by using an output bit selection function to convert bits and the order of the data streams is changed, And the input of the Daejeon correlator is configured to perform the polarization correlation processing by conducting correlation processing by setting the existing stream number to be the same. Correlation processing is conducted on the test data observed for the polarization correlation processing and it is verified through experiments that the polarization correlation processing method of the proposed Daejeon correlator is effective.

RE-ACCELERATION MODEL FOR THE 'SAUSAGE' RADIO RELIC

  • The Sausage radio relic is the arc-like radio structure in the cluster CIZA J2242.8+5301, whose observed properties can be best understood by synchrotron emission from relativistic electrons accelerated at a merger-driven shock. However, there remain a few puzzles that cannot be explained by the shock acceleration model with only in-situ injection. In particular, the Mach number inferred from the observed radio spectral index, Mradio ≈ 4.6, while the Mach number estimated from X-ray observations, MX−ray ≈ 2.7. In an attempt to resolve such a discrepancy, here we consider the re-acceleration model in which a shock of Ms ≈ 3 sweeps through the intracluster gas with a pre-existing population of relativistic electrons. We find that observed brightness profiles at multi frequencies provide strong constraints on the spectral shape of pre-existing electrons. The models with a power-law momentum spectrum with the slope, s ≈ 4.1, and the cutoff Lorentz factor, γe,c ≈ 3−5×104, can reproduce reasonably well the observed spatial profiles of radio fluxes and integrated radio spectrum of the Sausage relic. The possible origins of such relativistic electrons in the intracluster medium remain to be investigated further.

  • It is necessary that Fail-Safe Seaway technology providing a continuous navigation solution though fault of navigation system is occurred in sea. This paper focus on signal processing of GPS receiver, one of receivers using the software radio technology to implement a integrated radio navigation system including satellite-based and ground-based navigation systems. It is difficult to implement the software GPS receivers using a commercial processor because of the heavy computational burden for processing the GPS signals in real time. This paper proposes an efficient multi-bit GPS signal processing scheme to reduce the computational burden for processing the GPS signals in the software GPS receiver. The proposed scheme uses a compression concept of the multi-bit replica signals and patterned look-up table method to generate the correlation value between the GPS signals and the replica signals.

  • In this paper, we propose the battery life time extension method in the multi-interface terminal by using the state information in an optical wireless integrated network architecture. When the bottlenecks occurs in the network, the terminal receives data packets via multipath. However, the battery life time is rapidly reduced because the power consumption of the terminal is bigger than single interface. For reducing the power consumption in the multi-interface terminal, the Optical Line Terminal (OLT) confirms whether the bottleneck phenomenon is occurred or not. And the network state information is transmitted to the terminal. The terminal turns one of the interfaces off to reduce the power consumption. In order to estimate the performance, we compare the power consumption between single and dual interfaces.

  • This paper proposes the effective design procedure for a broadband, double-ridged horn antenna for evaluating the performance of the RF energy harvesting system with a multi-band rectenna. Using multi-mode network analysis, the higher-mode scattering parameters of the transition and horn were acquired and applied to the antenna design, respectively. As a result, the computing time could be reduced and the calculated VSWR(voltage standing wave ratio) of the antenna was very similar to the analyzed result using fully electromagnetic simulation. And there was also good agreement between the simulated and measured results. The designed broadband antenna has a bandwidth of 660~6360 MHz and 6~13.7 dBi peak radiation gain.

  • In this paper, a planar microstrip patch antenna is proposed using the slit on the top layer of a multi-layered structure for GPS application. The proposed antenna has a circular polarization at 1,575.42 MHz. This proposed antenna is fabricated on multi-layered FR4 substrate. The slits embedded on the top plane may yield to lower a resonance frequency and sustain a broad bandwidth. The proposed antenna size is $20{\times}20{\times}4.0\;mm^3$. The measured gain of 0.5 dBi, 10 dB bandwidth(VSWR 2:1) of 70 MHz(4.4 %), and 3 dB axial-ratio bandwidth of 15 MHz(1 %) have been obtained, respectively.

  • In this paper, we investigate the tradeoff between security and reliability for a multi-hop protocol in cluster-based underlay cognitive radio networks. In the proposed protocol, a secondary source communicates with a secondary destination via the multi-hop relay method in the presence of a secondary eavesdropper. To enhance system performance under the joint impact of interference constraint required by multiple primary users and hardware impairments, the best relay node is selected at each hop to relay the source data to the destination. Moreover, the destination is equipped with multiple antennas and employs a selection combining (SC) technique to combine the received data. We derive closed-form expressions of the intercept probability (IP) for the eavesdropping links and the outage probability (OP) for the data links over a Rayleigh fading channel. Finally, the correction of our derivations is verified by Monte-Carlo simulations.

  • Recently, lot of researches on multi-level protocol have been done to balance the sensor node energy consumption of WSN and to improve the node efficiency to extend the life of the entire network. Especially in multi-hop protocol, a variety of models have been studied to improve energy efficiency and apply it in real system. In multi-hop protocol, we assume that energy consumption can be adjusted based on the distance between the sensor nodes. However, according to the physical property of the actual WSN, it's hard to establish this. In this paper, we propose low-power sub-cluster protocol to improve the energy efficiency based on the spread of distance. Compared with the previous protocols, the proposed protocol is energy efficient and can be effectively used in the wireless sensing network.

  • Given a video stream delivering system deployed on a multicast tree, which is embedded in a multi-channel multi-radio wireless mesh network, our problem is concerned about how to allocate interference-free channels to tree links and maximize the number of serviced mesh clients at the same time. In this paper, we propose a channel allocation heuristic algorithm based on best-first search and backtracking techniques. The experimental results show that our BFB based CA algorithm outperforms previous methods such as DFS and BFS based CA methods. This superiority is due to the backtracking technique used in BFB approach. It allows previous channel-allocated links to have feasibility to select the other eligible channels when no conflict-free channel can be found for the current link during the CA process. In addition to that, we also propose a tree refinement method to enhance the quality of channel-allocated trees by adding uncovered destinations at the cost of deletion of some covered destinations. Our aim of this refinement is to increase the number of serviced mesh clients. According to our simulation results, it is proved to be an effective method for improving multicast trees produced by BFB, BFS and DFS CA algorithms.
