다중 표준용 파라미터화된 비터비 복호기 IP 설계 (A Design of Parameterized Viterbi Decoder for Multi-standard Applications)

  • 부호화율과 구속장을 선택적으로 지정할 수 있는 다중 표준용 파라미터화된 비터비 복호기의 효율적인 설계에 대해 기술한다. 설계된 비터비 복호기는 부호화율 1/2과 1/3, 구속장 7과 9를 지원하여 4가지 모드로 동작하도록 파라미터화된 구조로 설계되었으며, 각 동작모드에서 공통으로 사용되는 블록들의 공유가 극대화되는 회로구조를 적용하여 면적과 전력소모가 최소화되도록 하였다. 또한, one-point 역추적 알고리듬에 최적화된 ACCS (Accumulate-Subtract) 회로를 적용하였으며, 이를 통해 완전 병렬구조에 비해 ACCS 회로의 면적을 약 35% 감소시켰다. 설계된 비터비 복호기 코어는 0.35-um CMOS 셀 라이브러리로 합성하여 79,818 게이트와 25,600비트의 메모리로 구현되었으며, 70 MHz 클록으로 동작하여 105 Mbps의 성능을 갖는다. 설계된 비터비 복호기의 BER (Bit Error Rate) 성능에 대한 시뮬레이션 결과, 부호화율 1/3과 구속장 7로 동작하는 경우에 3.6 dB의 $E_b/N_o$에서 $10^{-4}$의 비트 오류율을 나타냈다.

Dynamic response of integrated vehicle-bridge-foundation system under train loads and oblique incident seismic P waves

  • Aiming at the current research on the dynamic response analysis of the vehicle-bridge system under earthquake, which fails to comprehensively consider the impact of seismic wave incidence angles, terrain effects and soil-structure dynamic interaction on the bridge structure, this paper proposes a multi-point excitation input method that can consider the oblique incidence seismic P Waves based on the viscous-spring artificial boundary theory, and verifies the accuracy and feasibility of the input method. An overall numerical model of vehicle-bridge-soil foundation system in valley terrain during oblique incidence of seismic P-wave is established, and the effects of seismic wave incidence characteristics, terrain effects, soil-structure dynamic interactions, and vehicle speeds on the dynamic response of the bridge are analyzed. The research results indicate that with an increase in P wave incident angle, the vertical dynamic response of the bridge structure decreased while the horizontal dynamic response increased significantly. Traditional design methods which neglect multi-point excitation would lead to an unsafe structure. The dynamic response of the bridge structure significantly increases at the ridge while weakening at the valley. The dynamic response of bridge structures under earthquake action does not always increase with increasing train speed, but reaches a maximum value at a certain speed. Ignoring soil-structure dynamic interaction would reduce the vertical dynamic response of the bridge piers. The research results can provide a theoretical basis for the seismic design of vehicle-bridge systems in complex mountainous terrain under earthquake excitation.

  • 비지형대상물의 전면해석을 위한 다중지점 사진측량강의 설계에는 촬영점의 기하학적 배치, 영상의 기하학적 조건, 기준점 배치 및 조정의 경중률 등 많은 문제들이 복합적으로 포함되어야 하며, 특히 좁고 긴 구조물의 내부를 측량할 경우에는 특수한 사진측량망을 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 구조물 내부의 전면해석에 수반되는 주요 난점들의 해결안을 제시하고 결과의 정확도 및 신뢰도의 향상을 기하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 내부의 형상과 크기에 적합한 다중사진측량망을 구성하고 광속조정법에 의하여 3차원 자료를 취득, 강의 구성요소에 따른 정확도에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 아울러 본 연구에서 개발된 과대오차의 검출연산법은 사진측량 해의 신뢰도 향상에 그 활용이 기대된다.

Multi-objective optimization of foundation using global-local gravitational search algorithm

  • This paper introduces a novel optimization technique based on gravitational search algorithm (GSA) for numerical optimization and multi-objective optimization of foundation. In the proposed method, a chaotic time varying system is applied into the position updating equation to increase the global exploration ability and accurate local exploitation of the original algorithm. The new algorithm called global-local GSA (GLGSA) is applied for optimization of some well-known mathematical benchmark functions as well as two design examples of spread foundation. In the foundation optimization, two objective functions include total cost and $CO_2$ emissions of the foundation subjected to geotechnical and structural requirements are considered. From environmental point of view, minimization of embedded $CO_2$ emissions that quantifies the total amount of carbon dioxide emissions resulting from the use of materials seems necessary to include in the design criteria. The experimental results demonstrate that, the proposed GLGSA remarkably improves the accuracy, stability and efficiency of the original algorithm.

  • Through the increasing of social economies and cultural activities, the Food service industry have been growing up steadily in spite of low economic activity. This is owing to increasing income, participation of women in public affairs and a dual-income family, automobile culture, desire for healthful food, shorten working hours, changing of cultural style. Moreover, the recent importance of Interior finishing materials by means of fire in the Restaurant, legal fractional multiple use business establishment are recognized of publicity. Therefore, This Study aim object at probing into the characteristic of Interior finishing material and then analysing the characteristics of space and material according to the typical distribution. In the Interior planning of Restaurant, firstly it is need to probe the Characteristics of interior finishing material at the basic element. This study is going to apprehend the constitution of space and difference of proportion or a point of sameness in the characteristics of material. Moreover, the recent importance of Interior finishing materials by means of fire in the Restaurant, legal fractional multiple use business establishment are recognized of publicity. Throughout probe and analysing, it can append more efficiency and elasticity in the usage of interior finishing material.

  • 지속적인 유가 상승과 탄소배출 규제 강화는 기업들로 하여금 높은 경쟁력을 가지도록 요구한다. 따라서 고객 서비스 증대와 비용절감을 위해 효율적인 물류시스템을 구축하고 운영하는 것에 많은 노력을 기울이고 있으며 경쟁력을 가지는 물류단지의 필요성이 증대되고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 물류도시를 구축하기 위해서는 적절한 정책과 화물수송 공동화를 통한 물류시스템이 필요하다. 특히, 단지내 물류시스템의 체계구축을 통한 효율적인 운영은 저비용 친환경적인 측면에서 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 물류단지내 효율적 운송을 위한 물류네트워크를 운영 모델을 제시하고 특히 운송 다단화 단계를 통해 문제에 접근하고자 한다.

대용량 BLDC 전동기의 영구자석 형상 최적화를 통한 최적화 기법 연구 (A Study on the Optimization Strategy using Permanent Magnet Pole Shape Optimization of a Large Scale BLDC Motor)

  • This paper presents a response surface method(RSM) with Latin Hypercube Sampling strategy, which is employed to optimize a magnet pole shape of large scale BLDC motor to minimize the cogging torque. The proposed LHS algorithm consists of the multi-objective Pareto optimization and (1+1) evolution strategy. The algorithm is compared with the uniform sampling point method in view points of computing time and convergence. In order to verify the developed algorithm, a 6 MW BLDC motor is simulated with 4 design parameters (arc length and 3 variables for magnet) and 4 constraints for minimizing of the cogging torque. The optimization procedure has two stages; the fist is to optimize the arc length of the PM and the second is to optimize the magnet pole shape by using the proposed hybrid algorithm. At the 3rd iteration, an optimal point is obtained, and the cogging torque of the optimized shape is converged to about 14% of the initial one. It means that 3 iterations aregood enough to obtain the optimal design parameters in the program.

스티븐 홀의 현상학적 건축접근 방식에 관한 연구 - 넬슨-앳킨스 미술관에 적용된 내용을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Steven Holl's Phenomenological Approaches in Architecture - Focused on the Phenomenological Characteristics of Nelson-Atkins Art Museum -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the phenomenological approaches in Holl's architecture centered on his Nelson-Atkins Art Museum. This study mainly deals with concrete and practical architectural contents based on his recent works rather than existing studies about philosophical point of views to his architecture. Because Holl has had turning point from theoretical research to practical application and development stage. Therefore, this study aims to find out Holl's phenomenological approaches that were different from his early works. Nelson-Atkins art museum shows effect of luminosity as well as inflow of light in the phenomenological experiences of light and space. Holl gave new addition building that he designed contrasts of massing, transparency of material, colors to enhance existence of new building through phenomenological experiences. Narrow and long circulation and various focal points provide multi-view points and overlapped spaces in body experiences As a result, Holl shows shifts from theoretical application to architectural utilization. Nelson-Atkins art museum is important in that this project is one of stating points about this shift.

Study on seismic retrofit of structures using SPSW systems and LYP steel material

  • Steel plate shear walls (SPSWs) have been shown to be efficient lateral force-resisting systems, which are increasingly used in new and retrofit construction. These structural systems are designed with either stiffened and stocky or unstiffened and slender web plates based on disparate structural and economical considerations. Based on some limited reported studies, on the other hand, employment of low yield point (LYP) steel infill plates with extremely low yield strength, and high ductility as well as elongation properties is found to facilitate the design and improve the structural behavior and seismic performance of the SPSW systems. On this basis, this paper reports system-level investigations on the seismic response assessment of multi-story SPSW frames under the action of earthquake ground motions. The effectiveness of the strip model in representing the behaviors of SPSWs with different buckling and yielding properties is primarily verified. Subsequently, the structural and seismic performances of several code-designed and retrofitted SPSW frames with conventional and LYP steel infill plates are investigated through detailed modal and nonlinear time-history analyses. Evaluation of various seismic response parameters including drift, acceleration, base shear and moment, column axial load, and web-plate ductility demands, demonstrates the capabilities of SPSW systems in improving the seismic performance of structures and reveals various advantages of use of LYP steel material in seismic design and retrofit of SPSW systems, in particular, application of LYP steel infill plates of double thickness in seismic retrofit of conventional steel and code-designed SPSW frames.

다중표준 OFDM 시스템용 가변길이 FFT/IFFT 프로세서 (A Variable-Length FFT/IFFT Processor for Multi-standard OFDM Systems)

  • 다중 표준을 지원하는 OFDM 기반 통신 시스템용 가변길이 FFT/IFFT 프로세서 (VL_FCore)를 설계하였다. VL_FCore는 $N=64{\times}2^k\;(0{\leq}k{\leq}7)$의 8가지 길이의 FFT/IFFT를 선택적으로 연산할 수 있으며, in-place 방식의 단일 메모리 구조를 기반으로 FFT 길이에 따라 radix-4와 radix-2 DIF 알고리듬의 혼합구조가 적용된다. 중간 결과 값의 크기에 따른 2단계 조건적 스케일링 기법을 적용하여 메모리 크기 감소와 연산 정밀도 향상을 이루었다. 설계된 VL_FCore의 성능을 평가한 결과, 64점~8,192점 FFT 연산에 대해 평균 60 dB 이상의 SQNR 성능을 가지며, $0.35-{\mu}m$ CMOS 셀 라이브러리로 합성하여 23,000 게이트와 32 Kbytes의 메모리로 구현되었다. VL_FCore는 75-MHz@3.3-V의 클록으로 동작하며, 64점 FFT 연산에 $2.25-{\mu}s$, 8,192점 FFT 연산에 $762.7-{\mu}s$가 소요되어 다양한 OFDM 통신 시스템의 요구조건을 만족한다.
